The Interrelationship between Service Quality, Electronic Banking and Customer Satisfaction in the Commercial Banks in Uganda

Jibril Abdi Mohamud 동아시아경상학회 2017 The East Asian Journal of Business Economics Vol.5 No.1

The main objective of this study is to find the Interrelationship between Service Quality, Electronic Banking and Customer Satisfaction in Commercial Banks in Uganda. A review of literature was conducted to find out the relationship among Service Quality, Electronic Banking and Customer Satisfaction. The literature review confirms this relationship. A survey was conducted to collect data. The sample size of 210 commercial banking customers was drawn from different banks in Uganda. The result shows, the Electronic banking adoption was found to have a positive relationship with Service Quality, Service Quality was found to have a positive relationship with Customer satisfaction; and Electronic banking adoption had a positive relationship with Customer satisfaction. In light of the findings various recommendations were put across on how retail banks can better satisfy their customers through the use of electronic banking channels. Electronic banking adoption will then foster Service Quality where a customer’s service expectations are exceeded by the actual service She/he obtains. This will then bring about Customer satisfaction where the customers find that their needs are met by the service.

The Genetic Diversity of Trans-caucasian Native Sheep Breeds

        Hirbo, Jibril,Muigai, Anne,Naqvi, A.N.,Rege, E.D.,Hanotte, Olivier Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2006 Animal Bioscience Vol.19 No.7

The genetic variation in 10 indigenous Caucasian sheep breeds was studied with 14 micro-satellite loci in order to determine the genetic diversity among and between the breeds. Five breeds from Asia, five breeds from Europe and one breed from Africa, were included in order to study any relationships or influences they may have with the Caucasian sheep analyzed. A Karakul population from Uzbekistan was included in the study to see whether there was any Central Asian influence. All the 14 loci were found to be polymorphic in all the breeds, with the exception of ILST0056, which was monomorphic in Imeretian. A total of 231 alleles were generated from all the 688 individuals of the sheep analyzed. The mean number of alleles (MNA) at each locus was 16.5. The total number of alleles detected in all samples ranged from 13 in several loci to 23 in OarJMP029. Out of total 308 Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium (HWE) tests, 85 gave significant results. After Bonferroni correction for multiple tests, 30 comparisons still remained significant to the experimental levels. The Gala population was the most diverse and Imeretian the least diverse with a MNA of 8.50 and 5.51, respectively. Gene diversity estimates exhibited the same trend and ranged from 0.803 in Gala and 0.623 in Imeretian, but generally there is higher diversity among the Caucasian breeds in comparison to other eference breeds. The closest breeds were Tushin and Bozakh with Da of 0.113 and most distant breeds were $Djallonk{\acute{e}}$ and North Rondalsy with Da of 0.445. Principal Component (PC) analyses were done. PC1 described 14% of the differences. PC2, which described 13% of the differences, further separated the Caucasian breeds from Asian breeds except Karakul and Awasi, and the two British breeds. PC3 described 10% of the differences, allowing better differentiation of the Caucasian breeds. A moderate degree of reliability was observed for individual-breed assignment from the 14 loci using different approaches among which the Bayesian method proved to be the most efficient. About 72% of individuals analyzed were correctly assigned to their respective breeds.

Positive Association Between Nutrient Adequacy and Waist Circumference: Results of a Cross-Sectional Study

        Aliyu T. Jibril,Parivash Ghorbaninejad,Fatemeh Sheikhhossein,Sakineh Shab-Bidar 한국임상영양학회 2022 Clinical Nutrition Research Vol.11 No.3

Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a multifactorial disease with its exact causes not completely clear. Micronutrients such as vitamin A, vitamin D, zinc, and magnesium have been associated with MetS components. Our objective was to investigate the association of nutrient adequacy (NA) with MetS components. The present cross-sectional study consisted of 850 adults between 18-59 years from Tehran, Iran. Dietary intake, socio-demographic data, medical history, and anthropometric indices were collected by trained personnel. NA was calculated as the mean intake ratio to the recommended amount of 16 micronutrients. MetS were defined by the consensus of National Cholesterol Education Program-Adult Treatment Panel III criteria. The association between NA and MetS was examined using linear regression analyses after controlling potential confounders. More participants in the highest quartile were obese in terms of general obesity (p = 0004) and abdominal obesity (p = 0.003) compared with subjects in the least quartile. A significant positive correlation was found between waist circumference (WC) and NA even after controlling for all potential confounders (p < 0.001). NA was positively associated with WC among adults living in Tehran.

      • Covariance in self-dual inhomogeneous models of effective quantum geometry: Spherical symmetry and Gowdy systems

Ben Achour, Jibril,Brahma, Suddhasattwa American Physical Society 2018 Physical Review D Vol.97 No.12

When applying the techniques of loop quantum gravity (LQG) to symmetry-reduced gravitational systems, one first regularizes the scalar constraint using holonomy corrections, prior to quantization. In inhomogeneous system, where a residual spatial diffeomorphism symmetry survives, such modification of the gauge generator generating time reparametrization can potentially lead to deformations or anomalies in the modified algebra of first-class constraints. When working with self-dual variables, it has already been shown that, for spherically symmetric geometry coupled to a scalar field, the holonomy-modified constraints do not generate any modifications to general covariance, as one faces in the real variables formulation, and can thus accommodate local degrees of freedom in such inhomogeneous models. In this paper, we extend this result to Gowdy cosmologies in the self-dual Ashtekar formulation. Furthermore, we show that the introduction of a (mu) over bar -scheme in midisuperspace models, as is required in the 'improved dynamics' of LQG, is possible in the self-dual formalism while being out of reach in the current effective models using real-valued Ashtekar-Barbero variables. Our results indicate the advantages of using the self-dual variables to obtain a covariant loop regularization prior to quantization in inhomogeneous symmetry-reduced polymer models, additionally implementing the crucial (mu) over bar -scheme, and thus a consistent semiclassical limit.

Effect of copper loadings on product selectivities in microwave-enhanced degradation of phenol on alumina-supported copper oxides

        B.Y. Jibril,A.Y. Atta,Y.M. Al-Waheibi,T.K. Al-Waheibi 한국공업화학회 2013 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.19 No.6

Alumina-supported copper oxides catalysts were prepared using impregnation method and character-ized using XRD, SEM and BET. Catalytic activities in phenol removal from its aqueous solution (200 ppm)were studied using hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant under microwave irradiation. Effects of copper loadings, reaction temperatures (50 and 70 8C) and pH (5 and 9) were studied. The high loading samples (9–14 wt%) exhibited 97% phenol removal efficiency corresponding to 90% total organic carbon (TOC)value. Lower loading samples (1 wt%) showed significantly lower phenol removals and inferior catalyst stability. At similar levels of phenol degradations, there was higher proportion of high molecular weight products or intermediates on 14 than on 1 wt% copper/Al2O3.

Enabling a fast annotation process with the Table2Annotation tool

Larmande, Pierre,Jibril, Kazim Muhammed Korea Genome Organization 2020 Genomics & informatics Vol.18 No.2

In semantic annotation, semantic concepts are linked to natural language. Semantic annotation helps in boosting the ability to search and access resources and can be used in information retrieval systems to augment the queries from the user. In the research described in this paper, we aimed to identify ontological concepts in scientific text contained in spreadsheets. We developed a tool that can handle various types of spreadsheets. Furthermore, we used the NCBO Annotator API provided by BioPortal to enhance the semantic annotation functionality to cover spreadsheet data. Table2Annotation has strengths in certain criteria such as speed, error handling, and complex concept matching.

      • Smokers and Marriage: Attitude of Youth in the United Arab Emirates

Bello, Salihu Umar,Jibril, Mohammad Awwa,Hassam, Hessa Ali,Haisan, Faris,Zaabi, Jasem Al,Daura, Hafsatu Sani Zangon,Shaikh, Rizwana B.,Sharbatti, Shatha Al,Mathew, Elsheba,Sreedharan, Jayadevan,Muttap Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.3

Introduction: In order to control the tobacco scourge, an array of measures is required. Among them is focusing on adolescent relationships as it has been shown that being in a close relationship with a smoker or a non smoker will in the long run be a major factor in deciding whether the individual adopts smoking for initial non-smokers or ceases the habit for initial smokers. Objectives: To assess the attitude of youth towards other smokers and towards marrying a smoker. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out among 415 students from five universities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Self-administered structured questionnaires were used for data collection. The Chi square test was used to detect significant differences between frequencies. Results: Of the 415 participants who provided their gender information, 99 (24%) were males and 314 (76%) were females. Of all the participants, 83.5% were not willing to marry smokers, while 16.5% were willing. Of those whose parents smoked (106) 68% did not like it when their parents smoked, 13.6% had no opinion, 17.5% did not mind, while the other 1% had other thoughts. Of those whose close friends smoked, 43.4% did not like it, 16.2% did not have any opinion, 36.9% did not mind while 3.5% had other thoughts. Conclusion: Most participants, both males and females are not willing to marry smokers and prefer to have non-smokers as spouses. Also, smokers are seen as less attractive by both genders in contrast to what appears as popular beliefs amongst youngsters and what is depicted in tobacco advertisements. Tobacco control activities can be undertaken in the community and colleges by incorporating students as facilitators.

The Association between Dietary Antioxidant Quality Score and Cardiorespiratory Fitness in Iranian Adults: a Cross-Sectional Study

        ( Hossein Shahinfar ),( Mahshid Shahavandi ),( Aliyu Tijani Jibril ),( Kurosh Djafarian ),( Cain C. T. Clark ),( Sakineh Shab-bidar ) 한국임상영양학회 2020 Clinical Nutrition Research Vol.9 No.3

The association between dietary antioxidant quality score (DAQS) and cardiovascular risk factors such as low cardiovascular fitness (CRF) and elevated blood pressure (BP) has rarely been investigated. To investigate the association between DAQS, CRF, and BP. This cross-sectional study was conducted on 270 adult subjects living in Tehran, Iran. Dietary intake was evaluated using a validated food frequency questionnaire. The DAQS was calculated using antioxidant-nutrient intake. Socio-economic status, anthropometric measures, and BP were recorded by a trained interviewer, using standard methods. A significant increase was found in maximal oxygen uptake (p value = 0.01) across tertiles of DAQS. After adjusting for confounders, the association remained unchanged (p value = 0.02). Participants in the highest tertile of DAQS had higher systolic BP (SBP) (p value = 0.01) and diastolic BP (DBP) (p value = 0.03), although adjustment for confounding factors attenuated the results (p value = 0.3 for DBP and p value = 0.6 for SBP). Our results revealed that higher DAQS is associated with better CRF in Iranian adults. Further studies are needed to establish the veracity of our results.
