• Pooled Analysis of Pomalidomide for Treating Patients with Multiple Myeloma

Sun, Jia-Jia,Zhang, Chi,Zhou, Jun,Yang, Hui-Lin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.8

Background: Patients with refractory or relapsed multiple myeloma are considered to have a very poor prognosis, and new regimens are needed to improve this setting. Pomalidomide is a new immunomodulatory drug with high in vitro potency. Immunomodulatory drugs are hypothesized to act through multiple mechanisms. Here we performed a systemic analysis to evaluate pomalidomide-based chemotherapy (pomalidomide in combination with low-dose dexamethasone) as salvage treatment for patients with refractory and relapsed multiple myeloma. Methods: Clinical studies evaluating the efffectiveness of pomalidomide based regimens on response and safety for patients with refractory and relapsed multiple myeloma were identified using a predefined search strategy. Pooled response rate (RR) of treatment were calculated. Results: For pomalidomide based regimens, 4 clinical studies which including 291 patients with refractory and relapsed multiple myeloma were considered eligible for inclusion. Systemic analysis suggested that, in all patients, pooled RR was 41.2% (120/291). Major adverse effects were hematologic toxicity, including grade 1 or 2 anemia, leucopenia and thrombocytopenia with pomalidomide based treatment. No treatment related death occurred. Conclusion: This pooled analysis suggests that pomalidomide in combination with low-dose dexamethasone is active with good tolerability in treating patients with refractory or relapsed multiple myeloma.

A SYN fl ooding attack detection approach with hierarchical policies based on self-information

        Jia-Rong Sun,Chin-Tser Huang,황민성 한국전자통신연구원 2022 ETRI Journal Vol.44 No.2

The SYN flooding attack is widely used in cyber attacks because it paralyzes the network by causing the system and bandwidth resources to be exhausted. This paper proposed a self-information approach for detecting the SYN flooding attack and provided a detection algorithm with a hierarchical policy on a detection time domain. Compared with other detection methods of entropy measurement, the proposed approach is more efficient in detecting the SYN flooding attack, providing low misjudgment, hierarchical detection policy, and low time complexity. Furthermore, we proposed a detection algorithm with limiting system resources. Thus, the time complexity of our approach is only (log n) with lower time complexity and misjudgment rate than other approaches. Therefore, the approach can detect the denial-of-service/distributed denial-of-service attacks and prevent SYN flooding attacks.

Microwave Assisted Synthesis of Graphene-Bi2MoO6 Nanocomposite as Sono-Photocatalyst

        Jia-Yao Tang,Lei Zhu,Jia-Yi Fan,Chen-Sun,Won-Chun Oh 한국재료학회 2022 한국재료학회지 Vol.32 No.1

In this investigation, Bi2MoO6 deposited graphene nanocomposite (BMG) was synthesized using a simple microwave assisted hydrothermal synthesis method. The synthesized BMG nanocomposite was characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray analysis, and photocurrent analysis. The study revealed that the catalysts prepared have high crystalline nature, enhanced light responsive property, high catalytic activity, and good stability. XRD results of BMG composite exhibit a koechlinite phase of Bi2MoO6. The surface property is shown by SEM and TEM, which confirmed a homogenous composition in the bulk particles of Bi2MoO6 and nanosheets of graphene. The catalytic behavior was investigated by the decomposition of Rhodamine B as a standard dye. The results exhibit excellent yields of product derivatives at mild conditions under ultrasonic/visible light-medium. Approximately 1.6-times-enhanced sono-photocatalytic activity was observed by introduction of Bi2MoO6 on graphene nanosheet compared with control sample P25 during 50 min test.

The Analysis on the Formation of Porosity During Pulsed Laser–Induced TIG Hybrid Welding of 6061 Aluminium Alloy at High Welding Speed

Jia Sun,Hongyang Wang,Liming Liu 한국정밀공학회 2020 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.21 No.8

Reducing welding defects and improving welding manufacturing speed are important for the development of automated welding technology. Low-power pulsed laser–induced TIG hybrid welding method was used to join 6061-T6 aluminium alloy. The formation mechanism of porosity during the high speed welding process was investigated in different parameters, such as pulse frequency, pulse duration, pulse energy and arc current. The results showed that the pulse duration made influence on the energy fluctuations in the welding process, and there was an interaction between laser frequency and welding speed. The energy state of the pulsed laser became a key factor affecting the welding defect and appropriate arc current can effectively decrease the porosity generation.

      • High-Performance Polymer Semiconductor-Based Nonvolatile Memory Cells with Nondestructive Read-Out

        Sun, Jia,Kim, Min Je,Lee, Myeongjae,Lee, Dain,Kim, Seongchan,Park, Jong-Hyun,Lee, Sungjoo,Kim, BongSoo,Cho, Jeong Ho American Chemical Society 2017 The Journal of Physical Chemistry Part C Vol.121 No.43

In this manuscript, the fabrication of polymer nonvolatile memory cells based on one-transistor-one-transistor (1T1T) device geometries is reported. A spin coated diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)-based polymer semiconductor was used as the active channel layer for both the control transistor (CT) and memory transistor (MT); thermally deposited gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) were inserted between the tunneling and blocking gate dielectrics as a charge-trapping layer of the MT. In the 1T1T memory cell, the source electrode of the CT was connected to the gate electrode of the MT, while the drain electrode of the MT was connected to the gate electrode of the CT. The reading and writing processes of the memory cells operated separately, which yielded a nondestructive read-out capability. The fabricated 1T1T polymer memory cells exhibited excellent device performances with a large memory window of 16.1 V, a high programming erasing current ratio >10(3), a long retention of 10(3) s, a cyclic stability of 500 cycles, and a 2-bit data storage capability. The proposed device architecture provides a feasible method by which to achieve high-performance organic nonvolatile memory.

Comparison on Relationship between Western Pacific Subtropical High and Summer Precipitation over Dongting Lake Basin Based on Different Datasets

        Jia Sun,Yimin Huang,Jun Han,Xingping Zhang 한국기상학회 2021 Asia-Pacific Journal of Atmospheric Sciences Vol.57 No.3

The Western Pacific Subtropical High (WPSH) is a principal component of the East Asian summer monsoon system. This study was to compare the relationship between theWPSH and summer precipitation in Dongting Lake basin (24°35′-30°27′N, 107°13′- 114°18′E) based on different datasets by employing the multivariate regression analysis. The observed precipitation data was from China Meteorological Data (CMD) sharing service system and the six gridded precipitation datasets were CFSR, ERA– Interim, CMAP, GPCP, CRU, and PREC/L, respectively. The WPSH exerted different influences on the precipitation of summer months. The indexes including westward extension ridge point index and northern boundary index in June, ridge line index and northern boundary index in July and August had important effect on the precipitation over Dongting Lake Basin. The gridded data could generally reproduce the relationship between the ridge line index and precipitation in July. The relationship between the northern boundary and the precipitation from gridded data was similar to that from observed data in June and July, while the relationship between the western extension ridge index and the precipitation in June could be reproduced by the gridded data except CFSR and ERA-Interim. Only in part area, the relationship between the intensity index and the CMD precipitation could be reproduced by gridded precipitation. The fitness of correlation in some area from the CMDcould be reproduced by the gridded data. General speaking, GPCP precipitation data was more applicable to the Dongting Lake Basin in studying on the relationship between the precipitation and a single index of WPSH.

Grey Wolf Optimization based Active Disturbance Rejection Control Parameter Tuning for Ship Course

        Jia Ren,Zengqiang Chen,Yikang Yang,Mingwei Sun,Qinglin Sun,Zenghui Wang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2022 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.20 No.3

It is important to control the ship course in complicated ocean environment. In this paper, a Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) based Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) tuning method is proposed in the application of the ship course. Here, GWO is used to tune the parameters of ADRC. To validate the performance of the proposed method, some simulations have been carried out and the results are compared with the results of other tuning methods, such as, Harris Hawks Optimization (HHO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Q-learning and manual tuning. To test the stability of different tuning methods, the cases of no disturbance, constant value disturbance, second-order wave force disturbance, white noise disturbance and mixed disturbance are considered. The robustness of the system for parameters perturbation is analyzed. The research indicates that the GWO based ADRC can achieve better performance than other methods.

      • Physical Activity and Risk of Lung Cancer: A Meta-Analysis of Prospective Cohort Studies

Sun, Jia-Yang,Shi, Lei,Gao, Xu-Dong,Xu, Shao-Fa Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.7

Background: Previous studies investigating the association of physical activity with risk of lung cancer reported conflicting results. In order to update and improve available evidence on any link, a meta-analysis was performed. Method: We searched the PubMed database for prospective cohort studies investigating the relation of physical activity with risk of lung cancer. The pooled relative risk (RR) with its 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) was used to assess the association. Results: We included 14 prospective studies with a total of 1,644,305 participants, with 14,074 incident lung cancer cases documented during follow-up. Meta-analysis of all 14 studies suggested both high and medium levels of physical activity to be associated with decreased risk of lung cancer compared to the reference group with low level of physical activity (for high level, RR = 0.77, 95%CI 0.73-0.81, P < 0.001; for medium level, RR = 0.87, 95%CI 0.83-0.90, P < 0.001). Subgroup analyses by gender found obvious associations in both men and women. No publication bias was observed. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that high and medium levels of physical activity have a beneficial effect on lung cancer by reducing the overall risk of tumour development among both men and women.

      • Interleukin 10 rs1800872 T>G Polymorphism was Associated with an Increased Risk of Esophageal Cancer in a Chinese Population

Sun, Jia-Ming,Li, Qiong,Gu, Hai-Yong,Chen, Yi-Jang,Wei, Ji-Shu,Zhu, Quan,Chen, Liang Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.6

Aim: Esophageal cancer is the eighth most common cancer and sixth leading cause of cancer associated death worldwide. The 5 year survival rate for esophageal cancer patients is very poor and accounts for only 12.3%. Besides environmental risk factors, genetic factors might play an important role in the esophageal cancer carcinogenesis. Methods: We conducted a hospital based case-control study to evaluate the genetic effects of functional single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs): interleukin 9 (IL9) rs31563 C>T, IL9 rs31564 G>T, IL10 rs1800872 T>G, IL12A rs2243115 T>G, IL12B rs3212227 T>G and IL13 rs1800925 C>T on the development of esophageal cancer. A total of 380 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) cases and 380 controls were recruited for this study. The genotypes were determined using a custom-by-design 48-Plex SNPscan$^{TM}$ Kit. Results: The IL10 rs1800872 T>G polymorphism was associated with an increased risk of ESCC. However, there were no significant links with the other five SNPs. Stratified analyses indicated no significant risk of ESCC associated with the IL10 rs1800872 T>G polymorphism evident among any subgroups. Conclusion: These findings indicated that functional polymorphism IL10 rs1800872 T>G might contribute to ESCC susceptibility. However, our results were obtained with a limited sample size, so that the power of our analysis was low. Future larger studies with more rigorous study designs of other ethnic populations are required to confirm the current findings.

      • A Population-based Case-control Study on Risk Factors for Gastric Cardia Cancer in Rural Areas of Linzhou

        Sun, Chang-Qing,Chang, Yu-Bo,Cui, Ling-Ling,Chen, Jia-Jun,Sun, Nan,Zhang, Wei-Jie,Jia, Xiao-Can,Tian, Yuan,Dai, Li-Ping Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.5

Gastric cancer is the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths in the world. Although certain dietary factors and lifestyles have been suggested to be associated with gastric carcinogenesis, there have been few investigations focusing on rural areas. A case-control study was therefore carried out to investigate the risk factors of gastric cardia cancer (GCC) in rural areas of Linzhou. A total of 470 newly diagnosed cases of GCC and 470 healthy controls were included. Face-to-face interviews were conducted, using a uniform questionnaire containing questions on demographics, per capita income, living habits, dietary habits and family history of tumors. The relationship between putative risk factors and GCC was assessed by odds ratios (OR) and their 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) derived from conditional logistic regression model by the COXREG command using SPSS 12.00. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate simultaneously the effects of multiple factors and other potential confounding factors. Multivariate logistic analysis showed that smoking (OR=1.939, 95%CI:1.097-3.426), alcohol drinking (OR=2.360, 95%CI: 1.292-4.311), hot food consumption (OR=2.034, 95%CI: 1.507-2.745), fast eating (OR=1.616, 95%CI: 1.171-2.230), mouldy food (OR=4.564, 95%CI: 2.682-7.767), leftover food (OR=1.881. 95%CI: 1.324-2.671), and family history of tumor (OR=2.831, 95%CI: 1.588-5.050) were risk factors for GCC. High per capita income (OR=0.709, 95%CI: 0.533-0.942), high education level (OR=0.354, 95%CI: 0.163-0.765), consumption of fresh fruits (OR=0.186, 95%CI: 0.111-0.311) and vegetables (OR=0.243, 95%CI: 0.142-0.415), and high BMI (OR=0.367, 95%CI: 0.242-0.557) were protective factors for GCC. Our data indicate that unhealthy lifestyle and dietary habits might be important contributors to GCC in this population.
