        TiAIN 코팅 평 엔드밀의 성능평가에 관한 기초 연구

        The purpose of this study is an evaluation of flat end mills to develop appropriate tools for the high speed machining. First of all, several flat end mills which are produced by different markers are selected to analyze the performances of the tools. Experimental works are also executed to measure cutting force, tool wear and surface roughness for different cutting conditions. And then the results are compared and analyzed for developing optimal cutting tool in the high speed condition.

        放射線이 생쥐生殖細胞에 미치는 影響에 關한 硏究

        The objectives of present study is to investigate genetic damage of radiation in mammalian male germ cell and to establish available screening method for determining genetic hazard by radiation. Several methods were employed to measure the genetic damage of radiation as follows: Sperm head counts, frequency occurrence of sperm with abnormal head shape, fertility, activity of LDH-X, and the induction of unscheduled DNA synthesis (U.D.S.) in male mouse were performed with the passing of time after irradiation by making use of the sequence of event that occurs during spermatogenesis. Sperm head counts and activity of LDH-X in testes were gradually reduced by increased radiation dose and with the passing of the time after irradiation. Frequency occurrence of sperm with abnormal head shape, sterile period, and the induction of unscheduled DNA synthesis were increased by increased radiation dose. It is suggested that since germ cell is a direct reflection of genetic complement, the use of male germ cell is rapid and convenient method for measuring genetic damage by radiation.

      • 재발성 류마티즘 환자에서 발작의 유발인자

        Background and Objectives : Palindromic rheumatism (PR) is known to be triggered without any obviously inciting events in most patients, although, in a few cases, attacks have been noted to relate to another events such as weather change, childbirth, ingestion of certain foods, or over-exercise. The aim of this study was to characterize the triggering factors on palindromic attacks. Materials and Methods : We evaluated sixty-four patients with PR for the presence of triggering factors and the relationship between attacks and triggering factors by interview of patients. We considered that there was an probable association between episodes and PR, if episodes within 24 hours prior to PR had triggered at least 50% of all attacks and a definite association between episodes and PR, if episodes within 24 hours prior to PR had triggered 100% of all attacks. Results : In 15 patients (35.9%), there was a possible association between episodes of PR and initiating events. In 8 patients (12.5%), there was a definite association between episodes of PR and initiating events. The triggering factors were physical over-activity including exercise (19/64: 29.7%), foods, such as rawfish, crab, and chicken, including alcohol (19/96: 19.8%). However, there were no difference between the groups with and without the triggering factor in sex ratio, duration and onset of PR, the positive rate of rheumatoid factor and involved sites. Conclusion : Our observations showed that PR was triggered by physical over-activity more than in previous reports and hypersensitivity to foods was a causative factor in some patients with PR. However, patients with triggering factors had a similiar clinical profile to patients without triggering factors.

      • 한국에 도해하는 검은머리갈매기(Larus saundersi)의 월동 현황

        검은머리갈매기(Larus saundersi)는 그 동안 생존집단이 약 3,000개체로 추정되어온 멸종위기의 종이나, 한국에서의 월동 개체수에 대해선 현재까지 알려진 바가 없다. 본 조사는 1994년에서 1997년까지 동계기간에 실시되었다. 조사기간 동안 1994/95년 겨울에는 548개체, 1995/96년 겨울에는 1,159개체, 1996/97년에는 2,140개체가 관찰되었다. 해마다 증가하는 것으로 되어 있으나 실제는 조사면적이 확대된 데 그 원인이 있는 것 같다. 1994/97년 동계기간 동안에는 8개 조사지역에서 최대 2,425개체가 관찰되었다. 남해안에서는 조사가 광범위하게 이루어지지 않았기 때문에 월동 개체수는 이 보다 더 많을 것으로 추정되며, 종합적인 조사가 이루어진다면 전 세계의 생존집단은 6,000개체 이상이 될 것으로 사료된다. 조사지역 8곳 중에서는 순천만과 금강하구, 만경강하구에 각각 최대 500개체 이상이 도래하여 이 지역이 검은머리갈매기의 중요한 월동지임이 밝혀졌다. 성조에 대한 유조의 비율을 보면 평균 14.8%이었으나, 조사시기에 따라 변동이 있었다. 중국 리아오닝(Liaoning) 지방에서 적색 표식한 2개체가 아산만에서 관찰되었다. 최근 한국에서 새로 3개의 번식지가 발견되었으나 한국에서의 간척사업으로 인해 본 종이 계속 감소할 위기에 처해 있어 보존대책이 시급하다. Saunders's Gulls Larus saundersi are the endangered species and the world populations of the species were estimated about 3,000 individuals. The breeding sites were known at several sites in China, and the wintering areas were known in southern China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan and Korea. Recently, the number of Saunders's Gulls was rapidly increased in Kyushu province of Japan: about 1,000 birds wintering there. One of factors affecting on the increasing population of Saunders's Gulls in Japan may be due to the destruction of the wintering habitats of Saunders's Gulls in Korea. But the wintering population of Saunders's Gulls in Korea has not been reported by now. We surveyed during the winter season of 1994~1997, and counted 548 individuals in 1994~95, 1,159 in 1995~96, and 2,140 in 1996~97. The increasing population each year may be due to the increase of survey areas each year in Korea. The peak count obtained from 8 sites was 2,425 individuals during the winter season of 1994~97. The real wintering population of Saunders's Gulls would be more than 2,425 individuals, because we did not survey many parts of southern coast although most areas of west coast were surveyed. If we estimate the world populations of Saunders's Gulls on the basis of this study and a Japanese report made in 1996(4,387 individuals), the world populations of the species may be more than 6,000 individuals. Sunchon bay, Kum river estuary, and Mankyung river estuary are major habitats supporting over 500 individuls of the wintering Saunders's Gulls every year in Korea. The ratio of juveniles to adults was averaged on 14.8% in the wintering population of Saunders's Gulls in Korea. Two individuals tagged with red colour flags were found in Asan bay, indicating that some birds wintering in Korea bred in Liaoning province of China. Breeding sites were newly found in the three reclaimed salt marshes. The major habitats of Saunders's Gulls should be set aside for nature reserves for effective protection and management, and should be turned into Ramsar sites to protect Saunders's Gulls in Korea.

      • 집쥐에 의한 슴새 번식성공률 감소

        본 조사는 2001년 6월 25일부터 30일, 8월 12일부터 17일, 10월 20~25일까지 제주도 북제주군 추자면에 위치한 사수도에서 집단 번식하는 슴새의 번식성공률을 조사하였다. 현재 사수도에는 약 4000쌍 정도의 슴새가 번식을 하는 것으로 조사되었다. 총 110개의 둥지를 관찰한 결과, 부화률은 약 15%로 나타났으며, 전체 번식성공률은 약 3%로 나타났다. 전체 번식실패률은 96.4%로 나타났으며, 번식실패 요인으로 집쥐에 의한 포식이 92.5%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 또한 포란기와 부화기에 포식률이 각각 42%, 36%로 육추기의 포식률(11%)보다 높게 나타났다. The rate of breeding success of Streaked Shearwaters (Calonectris leucomelas) was studied at Sasu-islet, in chuja-do, cheju island during 25-30 June, 12-17 August, 20-25 October 2001. The breeding population of Streaked Shearwaters at Sasu-islet is estimated to be about 4,000 pairs. This study was based on detailed observations of 110 nests dispersed over a wide range of nest habitats within colony. Hatching success was 15% (n=17), breeding success was 3% (n=3) and breeding failure was 96% (n=106). Norway Rat(Rattus norvegicus) were responsible for failure of at least 89% of all the breeding failure. The predation rates of both incubation and hatiching periods was higher than that of rearing period.

      • 이종 재료 접합부의 응력확대계수

        In this study, fracture aspects for dissimilar materials welded by right and left or up and down in symmetry are examined by using Finite Element Method(FEM) in case that holes exist at up and down in symmetry for the center of crack, and the results of this study are as follows ; 1. When the strength(E₁) of a material with a center crack is lower than that (E₂) of the dissimilar material which is welded by right and left in symmetry, the crack propagation rate decreases by about 25%, while it increases by about 20% when the E₁ is higher than E₂. 2. When the E₁ is lower than the E₂ which is welded by up and down in symmetry, the crack propagation rate decreases by about 25% while it increases by about 75% when the E₁ is higher than the E₂. 3. The value of K₁/K?? is constant up to 2.0 in which is the ratio (a/R) between crack length and hole radius, and the value is decreased or increased a little above 2.0. It is regarded that a phenomenon of crack closure is applied according to the welded type of dissimilar material. In addition, It is noticed that retardation effect of crack propagation is changed greatly according to the distributed position of dissimilar material.

        In this study, we have measured scintillating light generated in a fiber-optic dosimeter by high energy photon and electron beams using a charge-coupled device. The intensity of Cerenkov lights are also measured and characterized as functions of incident angles and energies of the high energy beams from a clinical linear accelerator. To minimize or remove Cerenkov light, a simple subtraction method using a background optical fiber and wavelength discrimination method using optical filters are investigated. Also, the intensities of Cerenkov light induced by high energy photon and electron beams are compared.

        2-Alkoxy-4-acetamidobenzthioamide was synthesized by reaction of hydrogen sulfide with 2-alkoxy-4-acetamidobenzonitrile which was dehydrated from 2-alkoxy-4-acetamidobenzamide by thionyl chloride or phosphorus pentoxide. 2-Alkoxy-4-acetamidobenzthioamide was obtained by hydrolysis of 2-Alkoxy-4-acetamidobenzthioamide with 10% hydrochloric acid solution.
