Acceleration of electrons by a lower hybrid wave in a magnetic mirror

        Jeet Ram,Kumar Arvind,Kumar Asheel,Babu Sanjay,Varma Ashish 한국물리학회 2021 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.78 No.12

In the present study, a theory of electron acceleration by a very large-amplitude lower hybrid wave (LHW) in a magnetic mirror having frequency less than the plasma frequency is developed. The LHW has a Gaussian mode profile and is localized due to the parabolic plasma density and the magnetic field profile. The mode can be excited by launching an electron beam from outside into the magnetic mirror. Large-amplitude LWHs have potential to axially trap the electrons when they are moving nearly parallel to the phase velocity, where parallel refers to the direction of the axial magnetic field. The energy of the electrons is enhanced at the instant of interaction between the wave and the electrons. The acceleration of electrons possibly stops as the electrons gets out of phase with the wave. The transverse field of the mode favors stronger mirror confinement and increases the dephasing length. This theory can accelerate electrons up to keV energies and can be employed in the heating of electrons in a magnetic mirror.

Development and characterization of microemulsion based topical gel of essential oil of clove (Syzygium aromaticum) for superficial fungal infections

        Gandhi Jeet,Suthar Disha,Patel Hetal,Shelat Pragna,Parejiya Punit 경희대학교 융합한의과학연구소 2021 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.21 No.3

A widespread of superficial fungal infections deals with concerns related to current therapeutic regimen such as drug resistance and adverse events associated with the same which leads exploration of natural oils as an antifungal agent. The aim of present work is to the development of clove oil loaded microemulsion based gel for treatment of superficial fungal infections. The microemulsion based gel was prepared by phase titration method and optimized using D-optimal design considering globule size, drug permeation and drug retention on skin as critical quality attributes. The MIC and zone of inhibition of clove oil was found to be 2.2 mg/ml and 38 mm respectively. A pale to yellowish transparent microemulsion had a globule size, zeta-potential and PDI of 14.41 nm, 0.73 and 0.0113 respectively indicating a stable microemulsion. A clove oil loaded microemulsion based gel (CLMBG) with a pH of 6.27 and viscosity of 12.87 m.pas/sec exhibited a comparable texture profile to marketed preparation. The drug release of the CLMBG with a drug content of 102.6 ± 4% in acetate buffer pH 5.5 was 98.5 ± 0.35% ensuring complete drug release from the formulation. Ex-vivo drug permeation study and skin irritation study dictated the retention of drug at site of action and the formulation to be non-irritant. The antifungal study proved the formulation to have similar efficacy as the marketed product (clobet gel). The stability study indicated the product to be safe, efficacious and stable formulation. From the above results, it can be derived that clove oil loaded microemulsion based gel can be a promising alternative to current antifungal regimens.

      • Costing of a State-Wide Population Based Cancer Awareness and Early Detection Campaign in a 2.67 Million Population of Punjab State in Northern India

Thakur, JS,Prinja, Shankar,Jeet, Gursimer,Bhatnagar, Nidhi Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.2

Background: Punjab state is particularly reporting a rising burden of cancer. A 'door to door cancer awareness and early detection campaign' was therefore launched in the Punjab covering about 2.67 million population, wherein after initial training accredited social health activists (ASHAs) and other health staff conducted a survey for early detection of cancer cases based on a twelve point clinical algorithm. Objective: To ascertain unit cost for undertaking a population-based cancer awareness and early detection campaign. Materials and Methods: Data were collected using bottom-up costing methods. Full economic costs of implementing the campaign from the health system perspective were calculated. Options to meet the likely demand for project activities were further evaluated to examine their worth from the point of view of long-term sustainability. Results: The campaign covered 97% of the state population. A total of 24,659 cases were suspected to have cancer and were referred to health facilities. At the state level, incidence and prevalence of cancer were found to be 90 and 216 per 100,000, respectively. Full economic cost of implementing the campaign in pilot district was USD 117,524. However, the financial cost was approximately USD 6,301. Start-up phase of campaign was more resource intensive (63% of total) than the implementation phase. The economic cost per person contacted and suspected by clinical algorithm was found to be USD 0.20 and USD 40 respectively. Cost per confirmed case under the campaign was 7,043 USD. Conclusions: The campaign was able to screen a reasonably large population. High to high economic cost points towards the fact that the opportunity cost of campaign put a significant burden on health system and other programs. However, generating awareness and early detection strategy adopted in this campaign seems promising in light of fact that organized screening is not in place in India and in many developing countries.

Impact of Big Five Model on Leadership Initiation in Critical Business Environment Among Marketing Executives

Mohammad Saleh MIRALAM,Nasir ALI,Vikram JEET 한국유통과학회 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.11

The present research intends to examine the relationship between the Big Five personality traits and leadership initiations among the marketing executives in Delhi NCR (INDIA), and seeks to uncover the predictors of leadership initiations within personality traits. The data are collected through online survey method using different social media platforms. A sample of 233 (male =136 and female =97) marketing executive’s responses were included. The data collected with the help of self-reported Big Five model inventory and leadership initiation test. The collected data were analyzed statistically by using descriptive statistics, correlation. and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results revealed that the age of respondents inversely correlated with leadership initiation. Neuroticism revealed significant inverse correlation with leadership initiation, whereas significant positive correlations were found between extraversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and leadership initiations, while openness to experience revealed insignificant positive correlation with leadership initiation. Extraversion and conscientiousness appeared as the most dominant personality traits among marketing executives, irrespective of gender, that positively influenced leadership initiation and appeared as the predictor of leadership initiation. In male executives extraversion and age emerged as the predictors of leadership behavior, while in female executives extraversion and openness to experience personality traits appeared as the predictors of leadership initiation.

In order to meet the increasing need for quality conscience crops and to utilize the resources efficiently, the concept of Greenhouse was introduced. It assists in accurate monitoring and controlling of various parameters, in order to nurture healthy crops. In this paper efforts are made to acknowledge the problems associated with maintaining precise environmental conditions, and to implement a sophisticated system to supervise the real-time monitoring and controlling operation inside the Greenhouse. The necessity for an Automated System deploying wireless communication and remote sensing is considered. This paper illustrates the implementation of a WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) based embedded system supported by ZigBee network (over IEEE 802.15.4) for organizing Greenhouse parameters. The establishment of various topologies supported by ZigBee network viz. Star topology & Mesh Topology are illustrated. It also demonstrates the real time supervision of parameters such as temperature, humidity as well as the total power consumption of the system, along with appropriate sensors. With the help of a PC based GUI application developed on Java platform graphs are plotted to evaluate the system performance.

Hemorrhagic Cardiac Tamponade: Rare Complication of Radiofrequency Ablation of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Kok Beng Loh,Shaik Ismail Bux,Basri Johan Jeet Abdullah,Raja Amin Raja Mokhtar,Rosmawati Mohamed 대한영상의학회 2012 Korean Journal of Radiology Vol.13 No.5

Local treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been widely used in clinical practice due to its minimal invasiveness and high rate of cure. Percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is widely used because its treatment effectiveness. However, some serious complications can arise from percutaneous RFA. We present here a rare case of hemorrhagic cardiac tamponade secondary to an anterior cardiac vein (right marginal vein) injury during RFA for treatment of HCC.

      • Conjoint Nerve Root an Intraoperative Challenge in Minimally Invasive Tubular Discectomy

        Sharma Ayush,Singh Vijay,Agrawal Romit,Mangale Nilesh,Deepak Priyank,Savla Jeet,Jaiswal Ajay 대한척추외과학회 2021 Asian Spine Journal Vol.15 No.4

Conjoint nerve root (CNR) is an embryological nerve root anomaly that mainly involves the lumbosacral region. The presence of CNR during tubular discectomy raises the chances of failure in spinal surgery and the risk of neural injuries. Tubular discectomy can be challenging in the presence of CNR owing to limited visualization. Here, we present a technical note on two cases of L5–S1 disc prolapse in the presence of conjoint S1 nerve root that was operated via a minimally invasive tubular approach. Any intraoperative suspicion of CNR while using the tubular approach should prompt the surgeon to perform a thorough tubular decompression prior to nerve root retraction. In patients with a large disc, disc should be approached via the axilla because the axillary area between the dura and the medial boarder of the root is very easy to approach in the presence of CNR. Safe performance of tubular discectomy is possible even in the presence of CNR in the lumbar spine.
