        Gymnosoma rotundatum (Diptera: Tachinidae) attracted to the aggregation pheromone of Plautia stali (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)

        The brown-winged green stink bug, Plautia stali Scott (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), is an important fruitpiercing bug. A monitoring study on the seasonal density change of P. stali using traps baited with methyl (E,E,Z)-2,4,6-decatrienoate, the aggregation pheromone of the P. stali, resulted in the first capture of adult tachinid flies, Gymnosoma rotundatum (Diptera: Tachinidae), in Korea. The parasitoid fly may worth studying as a biological control agent in the management of P. stali.

        Attraction of Gymnosoma rotundatum (Diptera: Tachinidae) to different amounts of Plautia stali (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) aggregation pheromone and the effect of different pheromone dispensers

        The attractiveness of different amounts of the synthetic aggregation pheromone, methyl (E,E,Z)-2,4,6-decatrienoate, of the brown-winged stink bug, Plautia stali (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) was tested on its parasitoid, Gymnosoma rotundatum (Diptera: Tachinidae), using different types of dispensers in the field. Both sexes of G. rotundatum were attracted to the aggregation pheromone. Pheromones in rubber septum and polytube dispensers attracted significantly more G. rotundatum than those in PE-vial dispensers. There were no differences in the attraction of females or males when using 7 to 60 mg pheromone. However, the trap baited with 50 mg pheromone attracted significantly more G. rotundatum of both sexes than the control trap. Further research is necessary to develop an effective pheromone trap that can attract and kill P. stali and can attract G. rotundatum to increase parasitism of the host stink bugs in the field.

      • Mating Disruption of Synanthedon tenuis at Non-Astringent Persimmon Orchards

        애기유리나방의 성페로몬인 Z,Z-3,13-octadecadien-1-ol (Z3,Z13-18:OH)을 이용한 교미교란 효과를 검증하기 위하여 경남(진주)과 전남(순천)의 단감원에서 2016년부터 2년간 실험을 하였다. 2016년에는 순천과 진주A, 진주B의 세 단감원에 성페로몬 5 ㎎/septum을 각 나무마다 한 개씩 처리하여 교미교란 효과를 확인하였다. 그 결과, 순천과 진주A 과수원에서는 100 %의 교미교란 효과를 나타내었지만 진주B 과수원에서는 효과가 전혀 없었다. 2015년과 2016년 같은 기간에 애기유리나방의 밀도를 조사 결과 진주A 과수원에 비해 진주B 과수원의 애기유리나방 밀도가 약 6.7배 많은 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 그리하여 2017년 제1화기 때에 진주B 과수원에서 성페로몬 량을 10 ㎎/septum로 늘려서 실험한 결과 교미교란 효과가 66.7%로 낮았다. 2017 2화기 때에 다시 진주A 과수원으로 장소를 옮겨 실험한 결과 100 %의 교미교란 효과가 있는 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과로 보아 교미교란 효과는 페로몬 량 뿐 아니라 지형의 영향도 받는 것으로 판단된다.

      • Ionizing irradiation to Helicoverpa armigera (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) as a quarantine treatment

        Rapid growth in trade of agricultural products has increased the risk of introduction of exotic pests into new area. In order to fulfill quarantine obligations, several treatments are in practice: fumigation with methyl bromide (MB), application of extreme temperatures, controlled atmospheres, and combinations of them. Although MB was most effective and widely applied for quarantine treatment, its use was banned by the Montreal Protocol. Ionizing irradiation phytosanitary treatments – gamma radiation, electron beam, and X-ray are being used as an alternative to MB currently. For applying ionizing irradiation as a quarantine treatment, there is a research protocol which should be followed, International Standards for Phytosanitary Measure 18 [ISPM #18] and Phytosanitary Treatment Regulation of Korea (Notice 2014-35). We have evaluated the effect of gamma radiation, electron beam, and X-ray on H. armigera as quarantine treatments. In this presentation, ISPM #18 and Notice 2014-35 will be talked with the example of H. armigera.

        국산 갈색날개노린재 집합페로몬의 유인력

        Methyl (E,E,Z)-2,4,6-decatrienoate is the aggregation pheromone of brown-winged stink bug Plautia stali (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae). Attractiveness of the pheromone synthesized in Korea was compared with that of synthesized in Japan in the field. A lure filled with hexane was used as a control treatment. Catches in trap baited with Korean pheromone was significantly higher than that baited with Japanese one only in one orchard out of three sweet persimmon orchards in 2008. However there was no difference in trap catches between Korean and Japanese pheromones at three sites in 2009. Gas chromatography analysis showed that the components of both pheromones were not different each other. Monitoring of P. stali seasonal fluctuation using Korean pheromone showed that the bugs were most captured in August, 2008 and in September, 2009.

        RAD 발레 프로그램을 통한 자세 교정

        본 연구는 RAD (Royal Academy of Dance)발레 프로그램을 통한 자세교정에 관하여 연구하기 위하여, 경기도 오산시에 소재한 D중학교 여학생 30명을 대상으로 주 3회 50분씩 8주간 프로그램 참여 전 후 어깨 기울기, 골반 기울기, 다리굴곡, 경추 기울기, 상체 기울기, 골반전후 기울기를 PAPS 자세평가 도우미 3.0을 이용해 측정하였다. 측정결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어깨 기울기에서 정상 또는 경미로 7명이 호전되었다. 둘째, 골반 기울기는 경미에서 정상으로 2명 호전되었다. 셋째, 다리굴곡은 심각에서 경미로 1명 호전되었다. 넷째, 경추 기울기에서는 경미에서 정상으로 3명 호전되었으나 정상에서 경미로 1명 악화되었다. 다섯째, 상체 기울기는 정상과 경미로 7명 호전되었다. 여섯째, 골반전후 기울기는 심각에서 경미로 1명 호전되었으나, 정상에서 경미로 1명 악화 되었다. 마지막으로 개인별 검사결과의 합계에서는 자세가 호전된 실험군이 21명, 변화가 없는 실험군이 8명, 자세가 악화된 실험군이 1명으로 나타났다. The posture before and after the RAD ballet program participation 3 times a week by 50 minutes for 8 weeks was measured based on 30 female students of D middle school in Osan city of Gyeonggi Province by using PAPS (Physical Activity Promotion System) 3.0 in order to examine the effects of the ballet movement program participation on the positional distortion of middle school girls. As results of analysis of the collected materials in this study, the following conclusions were drawn. First, 7 students were improved in shoulder slope with normal condition or slight condition. Second, 2 students were improved in pelvic tilting from slight condition into normal condition. Third, 1 student was improved in leg flexion from the serious condition into slight condition. Fourth, 3 students were improved in cervical slope from slight condition into normal condition but 1 student was deteriorated from normal condition into slight condition. Fifth, 7 students were improved in upper body slope with normal condition and slight condition. Sixth, 1 students was improved in front-back pelvic tilting from the serious condition into slight condition but 1 student was deteriorated from normal condition into slight condition. Lastly, in the sum of the individual test results, the member of experimental group which the posture was improved was 21 students, the unchanged experimental group was 8 students, and deteriorated experimental group was 1 student. Therefore, the ballet movement program was shown that helps creating the correct posture of the upper body in short time, and the program participation for longer time is necessary for creating the correct posture of the lower body, and it is considered that if the program participants are limited with 10~15 students in one class, then both students and teachers will improve the concentration and it will be the efficient progress. If this posture assessment is conducted nationally and politically in many elementary, middle and high school periodically every year but not only for the research or experiments, then it will be the good opportunity for the adolescents to be grown up as the healthy adults. It is considered that it will be able to be the basic foothold which can develop the ballet movement program as well as many good exercise programs for the posture correction of the adolescents in a growth phase.

      • SIP UA와 부재중 음성 메일 서비스의 설계 및 구현

        기존의 전화망과 달리 VoIP(Voice over IP)기술은 저렴한 통화 서비스를 가능하게 해주며, 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공해 줄 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있어 현재 이와 관련한 개발이 활발히 진행 중에 있다. 그런데, 대부분의 VoIP시스템이 ITU-T에서 제안한 H.323을 표준으로 삼아 구현되었으나, H.323은 랜(LAN)환경에서 개발된 기술 방식이므로 이에 따른 구조적인 한계점을 가지고 있다. 반면, IETF에서 제안한 SIP(Session Initiation Protocol)의 경우는 내용이 간단하고 구현이 쉬울 뿐 아니라 확장성과 포괄성 측면에서 구조적인 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 대안으로 제시되어 지고있다. 본 논문에서는 SIP을 기반으로 한 User Agent와 부재중 음성 메일 서비스의 설계 및 구현에 대해 설명한다. User Agent간에는 실시간 음성 및 화상 통화가 가능하며, 상대방이 부재중일 경우에는 상대에게 음성 메일을 전송할 수 있다.

      • Reproductive Inhibition Induced by Gamma Ray Radiation on Helicoverpa armigera Adults (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

        Helicoverpa armigera is a serious polyphagous pest inflicting losses to various kinds of food crops. Among dis-infestation methods, methyl bromide (MeBr) has been widely used in quarantine treatments. However, after regulation as ozone depleting substance, MeBr is restricted in use. Phytosanitary irradiation has been suggested as an useful alternative to MeBr. In this study, H. armigera adults were irradiated with 400 Gy which was decided as a critical dose to the adults by the preliminary experiments. The irradiated females and males were mated reciprocally with fresh ones. Some of the both sexes were subjected to comet assay to determine the degree of DNA damage by gamma ray irradiation. There was no significant difference in fecundity among mates. However the irradiation significantly affected hatchability of F1 eggs. No F1 eggs hatched in the mate of treated female (TF) x treated male (TM). Hatchability of F1 eggs from TF x UM (untreated male) and UF x TM mates were 0.3% and 1.1%, respectively. A few larvae from UF x TM mate developed up to adults. Comet assay indicated that gamma-ray irradiation is efficient in damaging male's DNA than female's which may be the cause of dramatic decrease in F1 hatchability.
