Occurrence of the Root-Knot Nematode species in Vegetable Crops in Souss Region of Morocco

Root-knot nematodes 'Meloidogyne spp' are the most destructive group of plant parasitic nematodes causeing serious losses in vegetables crops and this damages worsened when crops grown under greenhouses conditions. In this sutdy, the distribution and characterization of root-knot nematode species collected from the Souss region of Morocco where vegetables crops intensively cultivated were determined by using both morphological and molecular tools. Out of the 110 samples collected from different greenhouses 91 (81.7%) were found to be infested with root-knot nematodes. Thirty-seven populations of root-knot nematodes were morphologically identified based on perineal patterns as well as molecularlly using species-specific primers. The obtained results indicated that Meloidogyne javanica and M. incognita were identified in 86.4% and 13.5% of the total populations, respectively. The lowest incidence of root-knot nematodes (64%) was found in Toussous, whereas the highest frequencies of 100% and 90% were detected in Taddart and Biogra, respectively. As the majority of the samples have been infested with Meloidogyne species; this indicates that there is an urgent need to provide farmers with a proper control strategy.

Studies of interictal epileptiform discharges are essential for improving the diagnosis, classification, and management of epilepsy. In this case series we sought to identify the clinical and neurophysiological significance of bifid spikes, whose pattern bears a strong resemblance to the cardiac M pattern. We hypothesize that, analogous to the cardiac M pattern, the cerebral M pattern is generated by a conduction defect associated with asynchronous spatiotemporal averaging of electrical signals in the cortex, resulting in the signals reaching the scalp with different latencies. Unlike the cardiac M pattern, the pathology underlying the cerebral M pattern is unknown, although congenital CNS anomalies may be a culprit.

Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) is an electro-clinical syndrome composed of the triad of mental retardation, multiple seizure types, and the characteristic generalized slow spike-wave complexes in the electroencephalogram. In this article, we report on two patients with LGS whose brain magnetic resonance imaging showed dysgenesis of corpus callosum (CC). We discuss the role of CC in the genesis of secondary bilateral synchrony.

Stable Gait Planning and Motion Control of Two Cooperative Humanoid Robots

Control of the humanoid robots requires appropriate gait planning that satisfies stable walking. In this study, a Modified Transpose Jacobian (MTJ) control algorithm for object manipulation by two humanoid robots is developed. Such cooperative humanoid robots may typically get employed in hazardous situation and industrial applications. In the present paper, a high performance and robust controller was developed for the safe load handling, transportation and trajectory tracking. The MTJ algorithm, based on an approximated feedback linearization approach, employs stored data of the control command in the previous time step, to yield an improved performance. First, dynamic equations of the robot were derived. In order to verify the obtained dynamics equations, another model for the considered system has been developed using Matlab/SimMechanics simulation software. Comparison between the results obtained from these two dynamics models confirms the validity of the proposed analytical approach. Then, the stable walking gait based on ZMP approach was planned. Furthermore, the MTJ controller was applied to the robots and for comparison, the Transpose Jacobian (TJ) was also utilized. Significantly, it is shown that the MTJ yields smaller trajectory tracking errors than the TJ controller, without requiring high gains as TJ or extra computations as model-based algorithms which may not be feasible for on-line implementations.
