Space satellite observations show that current sheets in the space plasma environment are often characterized by bifurcated structures. In a recent paper a two-fluid model of the bifurcated current sheet was constructed on the basis of the pseudo potential method. A straightforward generalization of Janaki et al.'s two-fluid model to kinetic formalism, however, leads to an unphysical situation of negative particle velocity distribution function occurring over a certain range of velocity space. Study of Electric Field Stress with Metallic Particle Adhering to FGM Spacer in Three Phase GIS

Recently, spacer design is considered as an important factor for the smooth functioning of three phase gas insulated busduct (GIB) to prevent itself from several defects like delamination, void, particle etc. In this paper, a post type spacer with functionally graded material (FGM) has been designed for a three phase GIB with particle and further electric field stress is minimized by inserting metal inserts. FGM post type spacer is spatially distributed with multiple fillers materials to achieve uniform electric field stress using the finite element method. Simulation is carried out with the designed spacer and with a particle as a defect for different FGM gradings and operating voltages. The effect particle with diff erent sizes is minimized with the insertion of the metal insert to the post type FGM spacer and the results obtained are presented and analyzed.
Design of Robust Current Controller Using GA for Three Level 24-Pulse VSC Based STATCOM

A STATic synchronous COMpensator (STATCOM) is a shunt connected voltage source converter (VSC) based FACTS controller using Gate Turn Off (GTO) power semiconductor devices employed for reactive power control. The operation principal is similar to that of a synchronous condenser. A typical application of a STATCOM is voltage regulation at the midpoint of a long transmission line for the enhancement of power transfer capability and/or reactive power control at the load centre. This paper presents the modeling of STATCOM with twenty four pulse three level VSC and Type-1 controller to regulate the reactive current or the bus voltage. The performance is evaluated by transient simulation. It is observed that, the STATCOM shows excellent transient response to step change in the reactive current reference. While the eigenvalue analysis is based on D-Q model, the transient simulation is based on both D-Q and 3 phase models of STATCOM (which considers switching action of VSC).

Understanding local geographical variation in vector density and bionomics related to virus transmission are critical for planning effective vector control programs to control dengue virus transmission. This study investi gated the prevalence and resting behaviour of Aedes aegypti and Ae. albopictus in three dengue high-risk areas in the Colombo District, Sri Lanka. Monthly sampling of resting adult mosquitoes was conducted from August 2019 to February 2020. Thirty-seven percent of the households (289/776) harboured Aedes mosquitoes, and 603 Aedes mosquitoes were collected. The proportion of Ae. aegypti was higher in the overall collection during the collection period (94% [569/603]), and 62% (352/569) were females. Significant monthly variations in Ae. aegypti were observed with respect to the indices: number of females per surveyed house (F/SH; p = 0.001), number of females per Aedes positive house (F/PH; p = 0.029), adult house index (AHI; p = 0.001), adult density (AD; p = 0.005) and resting ratio (RR; p = 0.001). AHI, AD, and RR had statistically significant positive cor relations with monthly rainfall (p = 0.001, p = 0.011, and p = 0.002 respectively) and one-month lagged dengue cases (p = 0.002, p = 0.005, and p < 0.001 respectively). A statistically significantly higher proportion of Ae. aegypti females were caught resting indoors (N = 309, 88%) than outdoors (N = 43, 12%; p < 0.001). The most common resting areas were bedrooms (51%) & living/dining rooms (37%), and places were under or on furniture (47%) & hangings (34%) for Ae. aegypti. Conversely, 74% of female Ae. albopictus were collected outdoors. Re sults of this study could have strong implications to improve vector surveillance and control by early detection of dengue to detect outbreaks and minimization of disease transmission.

This paper argues that in the study of matriliny in Kerala, insufficient attention has been paid to the post-marriage residence norm of virilocality in which a woman goes to reside in her husband’s house after marriage. This has led to considerable romanticization of what matriliny meant for women in everyday life. In focusing on a caste called the Thiyyas, who have a history of matrilineal descent and inheritance, the paper explores the way the norm of virilocality is coupled with the idea of the ‘providing husband.’ I consider the idea of the ‘providing’ husband as both central to the image of a normative conjugality among the Thiyyas and also as an idea that has characterized legislative changes in matriliny and marriage since the late nineteenth century. Further, I argue that the idea of the ‘providing husband’ and post-marriage virilocal residence are coupled not only with a strong sense of a dependent wife but a husband’s unequivocal authority. However, what marks out this context is that women inherit property and have a right to return to their natal homes. These practices in turn enable considerable flexibility in residence in everyday life.
PROUHET ARRAY MORPHISM AND PARIKH q-MATRIX

Prouhet string morphism has been a well investigated morphism in different studies on combinatorics on words. In this paper we consider Prouhet array morphism for the images of binary picture arrays in terms of Parikh q-matrices. We state the formulae to calculate q-counting scattered subwords of the images of any arrays under this array morphism and also investigate the properties such as q-weak ratio property and commutative property under this array morphism in terms of Parikh q- matrices of arrays.
