      • 몰핑 얼굴 표정의 평가와 회복탄력성의 관계

        연구목적 : 회복탄력성은 역경에도 불구하고 정신건강을 유지할 수 있는 능력이며, 회복탄력성이 높은 사람들이 타인의 감정을 긍정적으로 인식하고 평가하는 능력에 강점이 있을 가능성이 제시되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 일반인을 대상으로 긍정과 부정의 감정이 몰핑된 얼굴 표정에 대해 긍정적이라고 평가하는 정도가 회복탄력성과 어떠한 관계가 있는지 확인하고자 하였다. 방 법 : 경기도 일개 시에서 생활하고 있는 일반인 50명을 대상으로 얼굴 표정 인식 실험을 진행하고 회복탄력성 척도, 긍정적 정서 및부정적 정서 척도를 자기보고식 설문을 통해 확인하였다. 실험은 몰핑 프로그램을 사용하여 제작한 다양한 혼합 표정 사진을 제시 하고 긍정적인 표정인지, 부정적인 표정인지를 반드시 고르도록 하여 조사하였다. 몰핑 정서 자극에 대해 긍정적인 표정이라고 응답한 정도와 각 설문 척도 간의 관계를 Pearson 상관분석하였다. 결 과 : 몰핑 정서 자극에 대해 긍정적이라고 응답한 정도는 회복탄력성과 유의미한 정적 상관(r=0.331, p<0.05)을 보였다. 또한 몰핑 정서 자극은 긍정적 정서 척도인 PANAS(Positive)와도 유의미한 정적 상관(r=0.365, p<0.05)을 보였지만, 부정적 정서 척도인 PANAS (Negative)와는 유의미한 상관관계(r=-0.032, ns.)가 나타나지 않았다. 결 론 : 본 연구에서는 몰핑된 얼굴 표정에 대한 정보를 긍정적으로 처리하고 평가하는 과정이 회복탄력성과 관련되어 있다는 것을 확인 하였다. 이 연구를 통해 회복탄력성을 향상시키기 위한 긍정적인 정보 처리 능력의 임상적 가치를 확인하였다. Objectives : Resilience is the ability to maintain mental health in spite of adversity, and it is suggested that people with high resilience may have a strength in recognizing and evaluating other people's emotions positively. The purpose of this study is to explore the association between the ability to evaluate morphed facial expressions positively and resilience. Methods : The experiment for facial expressions evaluation using morphed software was conducted on 50 normal population living in Yong-in city, Gyeonggi-do. Participants were forced to choose whether the morphed facial expressions are positive or negative without time limitation. And then, resilience, positive emotion and negative emotion scale were confirmed by self-report questionnaire. The data of this study was analyzed by Pearson’s correlation test. Results : The number of responding positively to the morphed emotional stimulus showed a significant positive correlation with the resilience (r=0.331, p<0.05). In addition, the number of positive response showed a significant positive correlation with PANAS (Positive) (r=0.365, p<0.05), but a significant correlation with PANAS (Negative) did not appear (r=-0.032, ns.). Conclusion : In this study, we confirmed that the positively information processing and evaluation about morphed facial expressions is related to resilience. This results suggested the clinical value of positive information processing abilities to improve resilience.

      • Automated structural modal analysis method using long short-term memory network

        Vibration-based structural health monitoring is used to ensure the safety of structures by installing sensors in structures. The peak picking method, one of the applications of vibration-based structural health monitoring, is a method that analyze the dynamic characteristics of a structure using the peaks of the frequency response function. However, the results may vary depending on the person predicting the peak point; further, the method does not predict the exact peak point in the presence of noise. To overcome the limitations of the existing peak picking methods, this study proposes a new method to automate the modal analysis process by utilizing long short-term memory, a type of recurrent neural network. The method proposed in this study uses the time series data of the frequency response function directly as the input of the LSTM network. In addition, the proposed method improved the accuracy by using the phase as well as amplitude information of the frequency response function. Simulation experiments and lab-scale model experiments are performed to verify the performance of the LSTM network developed in this study. The result reported a modal assurance criterion of 0.8107, and it is expected that the dynamic characteristics of a civil structure can be predicted with high accuracy using data without experts.

        Microbial Diversity of Commercial Makgeolli and Its Influence on the Organoleptic Characteristics of Korean Rice Sourdough, Jeung-Pyun

        Sourdough is made by fermentation of dough by lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and yeast to improve bread properties like volume, flavor, and texture. A Korean traditional sourdough was made by fermenting rice flour with rice wine (makgeolli) and used to make sponge-like bread (jeung-pyun). The aim of this study was to investigate the microbial diversity of makgeolli products and their influence on the organoleptic quality of jeung-pyun. Three commercial makgeolli were tested for jeung-pyun production, with each product exhibiting varied dough swelling rates and organoleptic qualities, and among them, J-product was ranked highest in texture and taste. Microbial analysis of the three makgeolli also showed a big difference in their population and diversity. J-product had the highest LAB and yeast counts, and the predominant species were Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus brevis, Leuconostoc pseudomenteroides, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Using J-product, sourdough was fermented at 25°C, 30°C, and 35°C, and the microbial growth in and textural properties of jeung-pyun were examined by instrumental and sensory tests. At high temperature (35°C), the rates of dough swelling and acidification were fast due to rapid microbial growth mainly caused by LAB, resulting in a short leavening time and soft and sour jeung-pyun. Sensory tests showed consumer preference for the soft and mild-sour jeung-pyun. This study shows that LAB in makgeolli play key roles in production of jeung-pyun, influencing the textural and sensory properties. For the production of high-quality jeung-pyun, development of LAB starters with high gas productivity and low acidity and establishment of an optimal fermentation procedure for rice dough are necessary.

      • Cost-effective multicast routings in wireless mesh networks with multiple gateways

        <P>In order that multicast routing characteristics is reflected in wireless mesh networks, multicast routing metric is required for quantifying the multicast tree cost under wireless environments. This paper proposes a new multicast routing metric considering receiver's different characteristics of link quality on a wireless multicast channel as well as wireless multicast advantage. The proposed multicast-tree transmission ratio quantifying the multicast tree cost represents the product of the multicast transmission ratios of all nodes in the constructed multicast tree. In this paper, we also propose a wireless multicast routing which constructs the multicast tree by maximizing the multicast-tree transmission ratio in wireless mesh networks with multiple gateways and design the multicast routing protocol based on AODV protocol. Since the multicast tree by our wireless proposed routing algorithm contains the nodes having maximum multicast-node transmission ratio, our proposed multicast routing shows a higher delivery ratio and a lower average delay than original multicast AODV and the multicast routing with minimizing the forwarding nodes in its multicast tree. In comparison with other multicast routings, simulation results show that the proposed multicast heuristics maximizing the multicast-tree transmission ratio construct a cost-effective multicast tree in terms of its delivery ratio, average delay, and required network resources.</P>

        Long-term Effects of the Eradication of Helicobacter pylori on Metabolic Parameters, Depending on Sex, in South Korea

        Background/Aims: Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection is positively associated with metabolic syndrome (MS). However, the long-term effects of eradication therapy on MS and sex differences have not been thoroughly studied. We aimed to investigate the long-term effects of HP eradication on MS and sex differences. Methods: This study included 2,267 subjects who visited a tertiary referral center between May 2003 and May 2019. HP was diagnosed by histology, a Campylobacter-like organism test, and culture, and the subjects were prospectively followed up. The participants were categorized into three groups: HP uninfected, HP infected but non-eradicated, and HP eradicated. The baseline characteristics and changes in metabolic parameters after HP eradication were compared over a 5-year follow-up period. Results: Among 1,521 subjects, there was no difference in baseline metabolic parameters between the HP-uninfected (n=509) and HP-infected (n=1,012) groups, regardless of sex. Analysis of the metabolic parameters during follow-up among HP-uninfected (n=509), HP-non-eradicated (n=346), and HP-eradicated (n=666) groups showed that high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and the body mass index (BMI) increased after eradication, with a significant difference at 1-year of follow-up. In females, HDL increased after eradication (p=0.023), and the BMI increased after eradication in male subjects (p=0.010). After propensity score matching, the HDL change in female remained significant, but the statistical significance of the change in BMI in the male group became marginally significant (p=0.089). Conclusions: HP eradication affected metabolic parameters differently depending on sex. HDL significantly increased only in females over time, especially at 1-year of follow-up. In contrast, BMI showed an increasing tendency over time in males, especially at the 1-year follow-up.
