요골 원위부 골절에서 수장측 잠김 금속판 제거술 후 임상적 평가

목적: 수장 잠김 금속판으로 치료한 요골 원위부 골절에서 금속판 제거술 후의 임상적 평가에 대하여 분석하였다. 대상 및 방법: 인제대학교 부산백병원에서 2006년부터 2011년까지 요골 원위부 골절에 대해 수장 잠김 금속판을 이용한 관혈적정복술을 시행받은 150명, 162예 중, 금속판 제거 수술을 시행받은 34명, 36골절 증례에 대하여 후향적 분석을 시행하였다. 금속판 제거술 전, 후에 대하여 시각 통증 척도와 quick-disabilities of the arm, shoulder and hand (Q-DASH) 점수, 손목 운동 범위, 악력에 대해 평가를 시행하였다. 결과: 금속판 제거술을 시행한 주된 이유는 충분한 시기 경과 및 환자의 제거 원함이 가장 많았다. 평균 시각 통증 척도 점수는 수술 전 1.78, 수술 후 1.81이었고(p=0.64), Q-DASH 점수는 수술 전 30.02, 수술 후 38.46이었다(p<0.001). 술전 파악력 및 집기력은 각각 18.14 kg와 7.67 kg이었으며, 술 후에는 각각 15.27 kg와 6.94 kg였다(p=0.23). 결론: 수장 잠김 금속판을 이용한 요골 원위부 골절 치료 후의 금속판 제거술의 시행은 환자의 임상적, 사회 및 경제적 상황을 고려하여 신중하게 결정되어야 한다. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical outcomes after removing the volar locking plate for distal radius fracture. Materials and Methods: We reviewed retrospectively the medical records of 34 patients, 36 cases after removing the plates among 150 patients, with 162 cases that underwent open reduction and internal fixation using the volar locking plate between January 2006 and May 2011. We performed preoperative and postoperative clinical assessments using the quick-disabilities of the arm, shoulder and hand (Q-DASH), the visual analog scale (VAS) score, and the range of motion on wrist, grip and pinch power. Results: The major reason for plate removal was the time to remove the plate according to the fracture union and the patient`s demand without other specific complaints (28 cases). The mean preoperative VAS score was 1.78 and the mean postoperative VAS score 1.81 (p=0.64). The mean preoperative Q-DASH score was 30.02 and the mean postoperative Q-DASH score 38.46 (p<0.001). The mean preoperative grip and pinch power were 18.14 kg and 7.67 kg. The mean postoperative grip and pinch power were 15.27 kg and 6.94 kg (p=0.23). Conclusion: The removal of the volar locking plate for distal radius fracture should be decided by considering the patient`s clinical and socioeconomic conditions carefully.

We compared the germination rate of dehisced ginseng (Panax ginseng) seeds that were dried under two different conditions, slowly at 15℃ [relative humidity (RH) 10-12%] and rapidly under a laminar airflow cabinet at 25℃ (RH 22-25%). The measurements showed that drying rate and seed moisture content (SMC) play important roles in storage ability and vigor. The seeds that were dried rapidly at 25℃ showed high GR compared with the seeds that were dried at 15℃ after 6 and 12 months of storage at -80℃ irrespective of MC. Seeds dried slowly at 15℃ with MC higher than 7.0% showed high GR maintenance after storage at -18℃ and at 4℃ in comparison with rapidly dried seeds. However, the GR of the slowly desiccated seeds decreased as mean SMC was reduced to less than 5.0%, whereas the rapidly dried seeds were distinguished by significantly high GR irrespective of the storage conditions. The ginseng seeds desiccated under different conditions showed differences in storage performance. Seeds with 7-9% MC that were dried slowly at 15℃ for 5-7 days showed high GR after 4℃ and -18℃ storage; however, longer periods of desiccation decreased the germination level remarkably compared with that of rapidly dried seeds.

Lettuce is an important annual leafy vegetable and bitterness is its potent flavor character. Lettuce germplasm differ their phenotypic characters and sesquiterpene lactones (SLs) contents which are important for consumer’s acceptance. This study was carried out to evaluate the phenotypic characters and SLs contents in one hundred lettuce germplasm in Jeonju, Korea. Twenty-three agro-morphological (16 qualitative and 7 quantitative) traits and two SLs (lactucin and lactucopicrin) contents were studied in these germplasm. Germplasm exhibited the variation in qualitative and quantitative characters. Average plant weight was 423.9 g with a range from 116.0 to 905.0 g. Lactucin content was varied from 19.7 (IT 294226) to 194.4 ㎍/g (IT 294298) with an average concentration of 84.7 ㎍/g. Lactucopicrin ranged from 82.5 (IT 300134) to 2228.6 ㎍/g (IT 294210) with an average concentration of 586.3 ㎍/g. Total SLs content was ranged from 120.1 (IT 300134) to 2286.6 (IT 294210) ㎍/g with the average concentration of 671.0 ㎍/g. Significant (p≤0.05) differences were found between crisp head and butter head germplasm for lactucin, lactucopicrin and total SLs content. Crisp head germplasm revealed the highest average lactucin (112.9 ㎍/g), lactucopicrin (734.8 ㎍/g) and total SLs content (847.7 ㎍/g). Crisp head and leafy type germplasm exhibited more total SLs content (847.7 and 744.7 ㎍/g, respectively) than cos (524.9 ㎍/g) and butter head type (519.4 ㎍/g). Principal component analyses of the quantitative traits indicated that the first principal component axis accounted more than 91% of the total variation. This study revealed the ample genetic variation in the agro-morphological traits and SLs contents to support the selection for improved lettuce varieties.
인삼 유전자원 장기보존을 위한 종자 초저온보존 조건 구명

We investigated the effect of pre and post-cryopreservation treatment on the dehisced Ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer) seeds germination rate. All seeds covered with endocarp and 96.3% of them were opened, initial moisture content (IMC) and germination rate were 55.9% and 84.0%, respectively. According to the pre and post-cryopreservation methods, highest seeds germination rate (GR) was observed in non-precooled seeds which recovered at 40°C, in which MC was 8-12% and desiccated at 15℃. However, by prolonged drying the seeds GR comparatively decreased under MC of below 2.2%, reaching below rate 4% regardless of pre and post- cryo treatments, whereas the seeds dried at 25℃ airflow cabinet saved significantly high rate. The effects of desiccation and of cryopreservation on the survival and developmental pattern of roots and stems showed that the earliest appearance of the root in control seeds was detected after 10 days of bedding in GA medium, and the stem started to develop later on the third week of germination test. And, on the 30th day of the investigation stem growth rate significantly increased and showed equivalent data with root rate. Almost the same pattern showed the seeds after cryopreservation, but it significantly delayed in the development compared to control, where term of the investigation continued till 40 day than control 30 day. Additionally, non-precooling seeds in both desiccation and recovery methods were showed high root and stem growth compared to precooled treatments.
