Concept Verification of Three-Layer DOI Detectors for Small Animal PET

<P> Improved spatial resolution without sacrificing sensitivity is one of the most challenging developmental goals for small animal PET scanners. The 3-layer configuration that we propose here utilizes relative offsets of half a crystal pitch in x- and y-directions, and pulse shape discrimination to obtain depth of interaction (DOI). Three layers of crystals with a dimension 1.5<TEX>$\,\times\,$</TEX>1.5<TEX>$\,\times\,$</TEX>7.0mm <TEX>$^{3}$</TEX> were composed of a L <TEX>$_{0.2}$</TEX> GSO (Lu<TEX>$_{0.4}$</TEX> Gd<TEX>$_{1.6}$</TEX> SiO<TEX>$_{4}$</TEX>: Ce) crystal layer and a L<TEX>$_{0.9}$</TEX> GSO (Lu<TEX>$_{1.8}$</TEX> Gd <TEX>$_{0.2}$</TEX> SiO<TEX>$_{4}$</TEX> : Ce) crystal layer aligned with each other, and a L <TEX>$_{0.9}$</TEX> GSO crystal layer offset at half a crystal pitch in x- and y-directions. The L<TEX>$_{0.9}$</TEX> GSO crystal layer was attached to a Hamamatsu H9500 flat-panel PMT. The devised small animal PET scanner has a diameter of 84 mm with one detector ring, and can be upgraded to two detector rings. GEANT4 Monte-Carlo simulation was used to estimate sensitivities of <TEX>$\sim 12\hbox{\%}$</TEX> and <TEX>$\sim 20\hbox{\%}$</TEX>, respectively, at the center of one and two PMT ring system with an energy window of 350 <TEX>$\sim$</TEX> 750 keV. We present flood images with peak-to-valley ratios of about 5–6 obtained using <TEX>$^{22}$</TEX> Na and layer identification capability of <TEX>$\sim 99\hbox{\%}$</TEX> with pulse shape analysis, and verified the basic concepts of multi-layer small animal PET. </P>
무인계산 게이트용 UHF대역의 RFID 라벨태그 안테나에 관한 연구

In this paper, we presented a specific UHF RFID label-type tag antenna for unattended payment gateway system to avoid null point by improving radiation patterns and directivity. The proposed antenna was constructed with form of microstrip line on a thin PET substrate for low-cost fabrication. We built some sample antennas and measured the antenna characteristics such as return loss, radiation patterns, and read range. The operating frequency of the tag antenna is 0.7-1.06GHz under -3dB(VSWR<2) return loss. The average readable range of the tag with a conventional RFID reader is 3.75m and the maximum readable range at an echoic chamber is about 5.68 to 6 m. 본 논문에서는 방사 패턴과 방향성을 향상시켜 널 구역을 제거한 무인 계산 게이트 시스템용 UHF RFID 라벨형 태그 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안된 안테나는 PET 기판에 쉽게 인쇄할 수 있어 제조 단가 절감을 통해 대량 생산이 용이하다. 최적화된 RFID 태그 안테나의 표본 안테나를 제작하고 반사손실, 방사패턴, 인식거리 등을 측정하였다. 태그 안테나의 동작 주파수는 반사손실 -3dB(VSWR<2) 기준으로 0.7-1.06 GHz이며, 고정용 리더시스템을 이용한 태그의 평균 인식거리는 3.75m, 무반사실에서의 최대 인식거리는 5.68-6m였다.

Recently we emphasize the role of construction work's supervision, which is rasing its head, for the protection of an insolvent construction and the ensurance of quality control in the lesson of the big accident of Sampung Department Store and Chonjuuam center. Government has been carrying out the Responsible Construction System to get rid of an insolvent construction at a construction site since January 1 in 1994. But it is urgent to revise systematically for early fixing of supervision system and related system according to the construction market on August in 1995. In the case of Korea, depending on making a construction we didn't experience a supervision. We must grope the revision of its system and the access to the international level. We have to reflex and revise is operation system which pass current with overseas construction market. We must diminish confusion and an unnecessary friction with over seas companies which take part in domestic construction works. Ultimately, We have improve techniques of domestic supervisor and expert supervision companies. It will contribute to the turning for the advanced system. Accrodingly I will try for early fixing of special supervision system in Korea. For this I analyzed the construction supervision system to solve. We come to the conclusion by analyzing several countries construction system USA, ENGLAND, JAPAN ect.

In this investigation, we evaluated diagnoses of a defect concerning coating of land-base gas turbine using infrared thermography camera. In this camera method has a strong point which is able to save time and costs compared with former method. Because it can be long field acquire temperature distribution by using non-contact method. But it has a week point that method applies thermal load about inspection sample. Presently, Method used widely in detection of crack is ultrasonic inspection. But this method, There is problem in application in place that uneven surface. In order to check cracks on a blade coating of a gas turbine, a part with cracks in a waste blade disposed after having been used in the field was extracted to produce a sample. So we apply the method by a infrared thermography camerato the produced sample, the sample was heated by means of a halogen lamp. In this paper, we want to describe production of land-base turbine sample, a method of applying thermal load at produced sample, infrared thermography camera technique, an analysis technique of thermography, a defect analysis of coating of land-base gas turbine blades.

Cirsium japonicum var. maackii is an herbal plant native to Korea, Japan, and China that has been widely used in traditional medicine for various conditions. In this study, we investigated the effects of the administration of C. japonicum var. maackii extract (CJE) on weight gain, blood coagulation factors, expression of vascular adhesion molecules, and atherosclerosis in mice fed a high-fat diet (HFD). Mice administered the CJE treatment showed decreased weight gain compared with those in the HFD group, despite the lack of change in food intake. CJE treatment also suppressed the activity of blood coagulation factors by reducing the concentrations of PAI-1, fibrinogen, and prothrombin fragment F1+2 in blood. Additionally, CJE treatment inhibited the expressions of vascular adhesion molecules, VCAM-1 and ICAM-1, in abdominal aortic tissues. Particularly, CJE treatment alleviated atherosclerosis. These findings highlight the potential of the use of CJE as a therapeutic agent for weight management and for the prevention of cardiovascular complications associated with HFD.

본 연구의 목적은 일상생활에서 쉽게 섭취할 수 있는 당근, 무, 무청, 우엉, 표고버섯을 재료로 한 야채 스프의 항염증성을 검토하기 위한 것으로, RAW264.7 세포에서 LPS에 의해 유도되는 염증물질 중 NO와 염증성 사이토카인 TNF-α에 대한 억제력을 관찰하였다. 실험결과 실험에 사용된 야채스프는 세포독성을 나타내지 않았다. 세포독성이 없음을 확인한 후 LPS로 처리한 RAW264.7 세포에서 야채스프의 NO 생성억제를 평가한 결과 RAW264.7 세포만 배양한 대조군에서 NO의 농도는 매우 낮게 측정되었으며, LPS를 처리한 군에서 NO의 농도는 현저히 증가되었다. 또한 야채스프를 처리한 실험군은 NO 생성이 유의성 있게 억제되었으며, RAW264.7 세포를 LPS로 처리 시 iNOS가 발현되어 NO를 생성하게 되므로 iNOS의 발현에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. LPS 처리 시 iNOS 유전자 발현이 유의하게 증가되었으나, 야채스프를 전 처리한 실험군에서 iNOS의 양이 감소하였다. 야채스프에 의한 iNOS의 발현억제는 NO 생성억제를 유도를 의미한다. Proinflammatory cytokines인 TNF-α 분비 억제를 살펴본 결과 LPS를 처리한 군에서 TNF-α의 분비가 현저하게 증가되었으나 야채스프를 처리한 군에서는 유의한 억제를 나타냈다. 이상과 같이 야채스프는 RAW264.7 세포에서 LPS에 의해 유도되는 NO의 생성억제, iNOS의 발현을 억제시켰으며, proinflammatory cytokines인 TNF-α의 분비량도 억제시켰다. 이는 야채수프의 항염증성을 입증하기 위한 기초자료로 활용이 가능하다고 사료된다. The aim of the present study is to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of a vegetable soup (VS). The present study was designed to determine the effect of the vegetable soup on pro-inflammatory factors such as NO, iNOS and TNF-α in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. The cell toxicity was determined by MTS assay. To evaluate the anti-inflammatory effect of vegetable soup, amount of NO was measured using the NO detection kit and the iNOS expression was measured by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Also, proinflammatory cytokines were measured by ELISA kit. The results showed that the vegetable soup reduced NO, iNOS and TNF-α production without cytotoxicity. Our results suggest that the vegetable soup may have an anti-inflammatory property through suppressing inflammatory mediator productions and appears to be useful to develop the functional food realted to anti-inflammation.
