인터넷 환경에서 웹의 급속한 성장과 더불어 디지털 도서관에 관한 연구가 활성화되어 왔다. 디지털도서관의 전자문서를 효과적으로 관리하고 검색하기 위해서 문서 메타데이터의 취급은 매우 중요한 과제이다. 본 논문에서는 하나의 확장 Dublin Core 메타데이터 모델을 제시하고 객체지향 데이터베이스 개념 데이터 모델을 설계하였다. 제안된 모델은 멀티미디어 전자문서에 대한 관리와 검색의 효율성을 제공할 수 있다. According to the rapid growth of world-wide web in internet environment. the research on the digital library has been activated. In order to provide the efficient management and retrieval of electronic documents in digital library, the treatment of document metadata is a very important task. In this paper, we propose an extended Dublin Core metadata model, and design its object-oriented database schema. The proposed model will be able to provide the efficiency of the management and retrieval for multimedia electronic documents.

In this study, spin-up flows in a shallow rectangular container are analysed by using three-dimensional computation. We compared our results with those obtained by quasi three-dimensional computation. Our results show that quasi 3-D solution is not accurate enough and it provides far less damped solution.
Baculovirus를 이용한 Aujeszky's Disease Virus gⅢ 단백질 발현

The g Ⅲ gene located in U_L region of Yangsan strain, a field isolate of Aujeszky's disease virus (ADV) in Korea, was cloned into pTZ18R and sequenced. The gⅢ gene consisting of 1,437 nucleotides showed 98% sequence homology with that of Becker strain, a reference strain of ADV. The gene encoding gⅢ of Yangsan strain was placed under the control of Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrosis virus (AcNPV) polyhedrin promoter, and expressed by the derived recombinant baculovirus using Spodoptera frugiperda 9 (Sf9) cells. The expressed gⅢ was a protein with molecular weight of 72kd determined by immunoprecipitation and Western blotting assay using anti-ADV polyclonal antibodies and anti-gⅢ monoclonal antibody. The partially purified gⅢ protein was utilized as antigen in the radial immunodiffusion enzyme assay (RIDEA) to detect to specific antibody against ADV in pig sera. The results indicated that the sensitivity of RIDEA with the recombinant gⅢ protein antigen (98%) was as high as that with the conventional glycoprotein antigen extracted from the ADV infected cells. In addition, the false positive and false nagative reactions in gⅢ RIDEA were significantly reduced than the conventional glycoprotein RIDEA as judged from the results of standard serum neutralization test.

Recently, the design and implemenation of a logic programming system capable of handing very large knowledge bases will be present. The loose coupling is an act without resursion. This paper introduces the purpose of loose coupling system with recursion. This system is implemented by adding a sub-process SELECTOR and particular two system calls. This can be used to avoid high cost in consructing a new large full integration system and coupling system of recursion problem.

This paper describes an analyzer for Korean which is partially free word order language. The analyzer uses unordered set as a subcategorization feature in order to solve the free order problems. The analyzer consists of morphological analysis, semantic analysis, semantic structure construction, lexicon and chart modules. The knowledge representation for syntactic and semantic features and unification rule was described.

Hemifacial microsomia is a common congenital craniofacial deformity involving bone and soft-tissue. Mandibular hypoplasia is the most obvious skeletal manifestation of hemifacial microsomia. In the past, complete realignment of the skeleton was preferred to soft-tissue correction, which was clearly second choice. However, in this study, simultaneous correction of bone and soft tissue deformities were equally important in treatment of hemifacial microsomia. One-stage and simultaneous bone and soft tissue reconstruction is possible and staged operations of the skeleton and soft tissue are no longer necessary, except in special cases. Even in children and adolescents, good results and normal growth potential can be achieved with simultaneous correction of bone and soft tissue.
Preparation and Antimicrobial Activity of Medium-Molecular Weight Chitosan

본 연구에서는 여러 분자량 크기의 키토산의 항균활성 효과를 비교분석 하였다. 실리카젤에 고정화된 키토산아제를 이용하여 연속/반복적으로 반응시켜 효소반응속도를 제어하여 중분자 (Medium-molecular weight chitosan, P6-MMC) 키토산을 얻었다. 수득한 중분자 키토산의 평균 분자량은 110-kDa으로 상업화된 여러 키토산 즉, 고분자chitosan, low-molecular weight chitiosan (LMWC)와 medium-molecular weight of chitosan (MMWC) 들의 그람양성 meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) 와 그람음성 P. auruginosa에 대한 항균활성을 비교한 결과, P6-MMC는 특히 MRSA에 대해 농도변화에 따른 높은 항균활성 증가를 보였다. 이러한 항균 활성은 키토산의 농도, 분자량 크기 그리고 미생물균 종에 따라 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. Antibacterial activities of a series of chitosans with different molecular weight were investigated against a Gram-positive meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and a Gram-negative bacteria Psedomonas auruginosa to investigate the effects of molecular weight and concentration on the inhibition of bacterial growth. Medium-molecular weight chitosan (P6-MMC) with average of 110-kDa was obtained by enzymatic digestion of high molecular weight of native chitosan using an immobilized chitosanase (N-174) on silica-gel. In comparison with high molecular weight of native chitosan, low-molecular weight chitiosan (LMWC) and medium-molecular weight of chitosan (MMWC), P6-MMC prepared in this study has shown the most significant antimicrobial activities in a dose-dependent manner against MRSA, and toward P. auruginosa as well. Our present data observed in this study suggest that antibacterial activity of a series of chitosan varied depending on the concentration of chitosan, molecular weight of chitosan, and type of microorganism.

The aim of the present study was to analyze the influence of oxidative stress using sodium orthovanadate (SOV) on growth and production of water-soluble exo-polysaccharides in the photosynthetic green alga Haematococcus lacustris. Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) analysis and elemental analysis were performed to determine the primary chemical structure of the polysaccharide, and its monosaccharide composition was characterized by a High Performance Anion-Exchange Chromatography (HPAEC) using Bio-LC (DX-500 Chromatography System, Dionex Co., USA). The molecular weight of the compound was determined by size-fractionation HPLC. Higher production of extracellular polysaccharide from H. lacustris following treatment of SOV was observed at day 2 as compared to untreated controls. Consequently, the total content of crude carbohydrates produced from SOV treated cells (51.2 mg/ml) was approximately 1.7- fold higher than that of the control cells (31.1 mg /ml) at day 2. The molecular mass of the major component of the purified water-soluble polysaccharide was estimated to be approximately 135-kDa by size-fractionation HPLC. In addition, Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) and elemental analysis demonstrated the presence of sulfate groups in this polysaccharide. Taken collectively, our data suggest that oxidative stress by SOV to the cells inhibits cell growth and promotes the expression of water-soluble sulfated polysaccharides from H. lacustris.
