Experments were conducted to clarify the optimum kind and concentration of growth retardants for dwarfing culture of Korean-native Clinopodium chinense var. parviflorum. Uniconazole 0.5 and 1.0mg/pot treatment and paclobutrazol 0.01mg/pot treatment decreased plant height significantly by diminishing the node number and node length of main stem. Verticil node number, number of flowering branches, and weeks to flowering showed no significant difference to control. So uniconazole 1.0mg/pot treatment and paclobutrazol 0.01mg/pot treatment assumed to be a optimum concentration for floricultural development as a pot plant or a bedding plant, whereas uniconazole 0.5mg/pot as a bedding plant. Paclobutrazol and uniconazole treatment made leaf color deeper and reddish than control

自生草花類 種子의 光과 溫度에 따른 發芽特性 : Native Flower Seeds According to Light and Temperature

This study was carried out to investigate the optimum condition of temperature and light for germination in Korean-native flower seeds. The typical light germinator were Androsace umbellata, Gentiana squarrosa, and Lythrum anceps. They germinated at relatively high temperature. Dark germinator was Clematis mandshurica, and it germinated at relatively low temperature. Seeds of Chrysanthemum boreale, Senecio mtegrifoltus var. spathulatus, Dianthus stnensis, Meoilotus suavelens, and A ristolochia contorta germinated at both light and dark condition Most seeds as Orostachys japonicus, Leonurus inacranthus, A stilbe chinensis var. davidii, Campanula glomerata var. dahurica, Lysimachia barystachys, Veronica linariaefolia, Aster yomena, Valeriana fauriei, and Clinopodium chinense var. parvuflorum showed higher germination rate at light condition than at dark condition. The optimum temperature of Astilbe chtnensis var. davidii was 15℃, but at of Parnassia palustris was 25℃. 0ther seeds germinated at wide range of temperature. We classified the germination type of Korean-native flower seeds into 5 types according to maximum germination rate at light and dark condition. Type I seeds were light germinator and non-germinating at dark. It contains Androsace umbellata, Gentiana squarrosa, and Lythrum anceps. Type Ⅱ seeds were light germinator and dark germinating by 50% of maximum light-germinating rate. It contains Parnassia palustris and Clinopodium chinenes var. parviflorum. Type Ⅲ seeds were light germinator and dark germinating by 51~9o% of maximum light-germinating fate. It contains Orostachys japonicu, Leonurus macranthus, A stilbe chinensis var. davidii, Campanula glomerata var. dahurica Lystmachia barystachys, Veronica linearifolia, A ster cillosus, and Valeriana fauriel. Type Ⅳ was well germinated at both light and dark condition, so it was impossible to distinguish. It contains Chrysanthemum boreale, Senecio integrifolius var. spathulatus, Dianthus sinensis, Meoilotus suaveolens, and Aristolochia contoria Type Ⅴ seeds were dark germinator and light germinating by 51~90% of maximum dark-germinating rate. It contains Clematis mandshurica We had no seed showing type Ⅵ( contrary to type Ⅲ) and type Ⅶ (contrary to type Ⅰ). But we could estimate the presence of type Ⅵ which would be dark germinating seeds and also light germinating by 50% of maximum dark-germinating rate, and type Ⅶ which would be dark germinating seeds and non-germinating under light.

This paper wishes to develop system that measure an external diameter of optical-ferrule and roundness that is optical connection parts that is necessary in optical communication net construction that increase rapidly present automatically and plan productivity elevation and personnel expense curtailment. There is LC, PC, MU, and so on various form in the case of optical-ferrule and Recently, ferrule that have special form is appearing. Hereupon, can bring cost reduction by productivity elevation, measurement quality elevation, number of persons attrition and parts loss amount decrease etc. by computerizing measurement work of examination process that depended on existing manual processing by developing exterior diameter of LC ferrule and roundness' measurement system. Also, use of LD and PD ferrule by country and universal FTTH business is increasing, and LC optical ferrule that is necessary to laser packaging of inside depends on income. Therefore, productivity improvement of LC ferrule can contribute in could do to maximize income substitution effect country industry development. But, manual processing dependence of examination process that it selects LC ferrule manufacturing process defective goods that productivity does not increase because is high productivity elevation decrease bring. Therefore, productivity elevation of LC ferrule wishes to solve productivity decrease by existent manual processing computerizing external diameter and roundness measurement examination process.

태권도 옆차기 동작의 우수자와 비우수자간의 운동학적 비교 분석

The purposes of this study were to analyze the kinematic variations between skilled and unskilled individuals and obtain the data needed to improve effective side kick skill in Teakwondo. We used a video analysis program to collect performance time, changes in movement of the center of the body, angle, and angular velocity. The results were as follows : 1) in unskilled cases, side kick motion occurred for more time than in unskilled cases, 2) to make a stronger kick, the skilled group increased the joint speed of the legs and unskilled athletes have smaller angles than experienced athletes. As a result, the total performance time of side kicks was shorter for skilled people and was consistent with other previous studies. The angle of the knee joint and hip joint had a great influence on the side kick.The range of motion of the hip and knee joints should be increased so that the desired hitting point can be quickly reached.

Staphylococcus aureus와 Coagulase-Negative Staphylococcus Species에 대한 Arbekacin의 시험관내 항균력

Background : Most strains of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) now exhibit high-level resistance to various antibiotics, such as β -lactam antibiotics, aminoglycosides, macrolides, tetracyclines and quinolones. Recent reports describing the therapeutic failure of vancomycin for MRSA infections have arisen considerable concerns regarding the emergence of MRSA strains, which will require new therapeutic agents. Arbekacin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, has antibacterial activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and is stable in the presence of aminoglycoside inactivating enzymes produced by S. aureus. In this study, we compared the antibacterial activity of arbekacin with those of vancomycin, gentamicin, and amikacin against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS). Methods : For a collection of 549 S. aureus and 251 CNS isolates from three Catholic University Hospitals in Korea, minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of arbekacin, vancomycin, amikacin and gentamicin were determined by agar dilution method using Mueller-Hinton agar according to NCCLS (National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards, USA)criteria. Results : Among 549 S. aureus isolates, 278 isolates were MRSA and 271 isolates were methicil sensitive S. aureus (MSSA). MIC50 & MIC90 of arbekacin against 549 S. aureus were 0.5 & 1 ㎍/mL, and MIC50 & MIC90 of vancomycin were 1 & 1 ㎍/mL. MIC of arbekacin against 549 S. aureus isolates ranges from 0.03 to 4 ㎍/mL, and MIC of vancomycin against 549 S. aureus ranges from 0.25 to 2 ㎍/mL. MIC90 of amikacin against 549 S. aureus was 32㎍/mL, and that of gentamicin was 128 ㎍/mL. MICs of amikacin and gentamicin were variable, ranging from 0.125 to 256, and otherwise arbekacin and vancomycin revealed relatively narrow range of MICs. MIC90 of arbekacin against 278 MRSA isolates & 271 MSSA were 1 & 0.5 ㎍/mL, and those of vancomycin against MRSA & MSSA were 1 & 1 ㎍/mL. MIC90 of amikacin against 278 MRSA & 271 MSSA isolates were 32 & 4 ㎍/mL, and that of gentamicin against MRSA & MSSA isolates were 128 & 32 ㎍/mL respectively. Among 251 CNS isolates, 122 isolates were MRCNS and 129 were MSCNS. MICSO & MIC90 of arbekacin against 251 CNS isolates were 0.25 & 2 ㎍/mL, and those of vancomycin were 1 & 2 ㎍/mL. MIC of arbekacin against 251 CNS isolates ranges from 0.015 to 32 ㎍/mL, and that of vancomycin isolates ranges from 0.25 to 2 ㎍/mL, MIC90 of arbekacin against 122 MRCNS & 129 MSCNS isolates were 2&0.3 ㎍/ML, and those of vancomycin were 2&s ㎍/ML. MIC90 of amikacin against 251 CNS isolates was 32 ㎍/ML, and that of gentamicin was 128 ㎍/ML for CNS. MIC90 of amikacin against 122 MRCNS & 129 MSCNS isolates were 128 & 8㎍/mL, and those of gentamicin ere 256 & 32 ㎍/mL. Conclusion : Considering above results, arbekacin can be useful agent against most strains of MRSA and MRCMS, which exhibit high-level resistance to amikacin and gentamicin. 충남 서북부지역 여성의 질세포진 검사에 대한 임상적 고찰

Pap smear were performed to 30,294 women living in the north-west of Chung-nam. The result are summarized below 1. Positive vaginal cytology was 1.09 percent. 2. 72 percents women in their 30's and 40's experienced vaginal cytology. 3. Vaginal cytology was performed at a decreasing rate as age increases. 4. Positive cytology rate is 2.42% higher than average for elderly women over the age of 65. The present date indicates that pap smear is being widely recognized to be important but they needs to be continued advocacy for pap smear.

Malachite Green유도체의 합성과 그 항균성에 관한 연구

Malachite Green derivative bearing butyl group was prepared in the form of Leuco base, 4-butyl-4'. 4"-bis(dimethylamino) triphenylmethane, by the condensation reaction of N,N-dimethylaniline with the formyl derivative of butylbenzene, which had been obtained from butylbenzene by chlormethylation followed by oxidation. The butylbenzene was prepared by the alkylation reaction of benzene with n-butyl choride which had been obtained from n-butyl alcohol and zinc chloride. The antimicrobial and antifungal activity of buty-Malachite Green was evaluated in terms of minimum inhibitory concentration by the dilution method. The butyl-Malachite Green showed considerably increasing activity. This activity was stronger than that of hexyl-Malachite Green. This phenomenon suggested that the activities of the alkyl derivatives increase with decrease in the number of carbon in the alkyl group.

Osteogenesis Imperfecta(Ol) is a heritable disorder of which the defects make bones brittle, and is usually associated with blue sclerae, hearing loss, abnormalities of dentition, or a combination of these features. One of these, the perinatal form on OI TypeⅡ is rare disorder characterized by poorly ossified calvaria, beaded rib, and short, bowed limbs. We recently experienced a case of OI Type Ⅱ diagnosed in utero by ultrasonogram and confirmed by postnatal radiograph and autopsy. So, we report the case with a brief review of the literature.

Open neural-tube defects are myelomeningocele that are covered by skin. Leakage of α-fetoprotein(AFP) from the cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) into the amniotic fluid results in an increased transport of AFP into the maternal circulation. Screening by maternal serum AFP analysis has results in an increased ability to detect these lesions prenatally. So, the prenatal diagnosis of spina bifida include the fetal sonography and maternal serum α-fetoprotein(MSAFP). Recently, the prenatal sonographic diagnosis of myelomeningocele has been enhanced by recognition of specific grain abnormalities. It is characterized by visualization of the spinal defect and associated cranial abnormalities: ventriculomegaly, small biparietal diameter, microcephaly, obliteration of the cisternal magna and "fruit" sign, which include the lemons sing, and the banana sign. We report one case of spina bifida diagnosed with meningomyelocele at 22weeks of pregnancy by sonograph with a brief review of literatures.
