The knocking is one of major parameters to improve engine performance in a spark ignition engine. Many researches have been carried out to identify them using cylinder pressure, vibration signal and so on.<br/> In the present study, measurement and analysis were conducted to set up the criteria of knock occurrence by using acceleration signal. Cylinder pressure was measured for the reference signal of knocking.<br/> Vibration signal knock detection is dependent of engine operating condition. Therefore, it is necessary to determine knock threshold value by using reference such pressure cylinder. A new algorithm is proposed for knock threshold value determination without pre-test. This algorithm is based on statistical analysis of experimental data. The results show that knock threshold value becomes nearly constant value and is independent of engine operating conditions.<br/>

In this paper, we derive the algorithm for calculating contact point between wheel and rail and develop the method for track modeling. The proposed methods use travelling distance to represent track center line poistion vector and track orientation with respect to Newtonian reference frame. The proposed methods can be easily used in multibody dynamic analysis. Two numerical examples are given to verify the validity of the proposed methods.

Recently, as increasing traffic accidnets, facial trauma is confronted frequently. Although frontal sinus fractures are less common than other facial bone fractures, they can cause severe craniofacial injuries and also, untreated frontal sinus fractures can cause severe complications. When the extent of injury to the sinus is surveyed, each wall of the sinus must be evaluated individually and fractures of the anterior and posterior tables may necessitate surgery for reconstruction of anatomical alignment. And the importance of the patency of the nasofrontal duct in preventing compication in the injured sinus has been well documented clinically and experimentally. Authors have experienced 29 frontal fractures from 1984 to 1988 and performed various operative managements based on the facial bone CT and intraoperative findings. So we present the cases of the frontal sinus fractures with a review of literature.
