Surface acoustic wave devices have been widely used for separation, sorting, and mixing of particles in the fields of colloidal sciences, biochemical, and biomedical engineering. Here, we investigate the effect of the sound speed of channel and fluid on the particle response in a surface acoustic wave device. The computational and experimental results demonstrate how the particle alignment pattern is altered due to the mismatch of their sound speeds. Our study provides an intuition into the design on acoustic device for manipulation of particles in a desired manner.
액틴 필라멘트의 강직도가 네트워크의 수축에 미치는 영향

액틴 네트워크는 세포의 변형에 중요한 역할을 하는 요소이다. 액틴의 필라멘트의 구조와 특성이 마이오신에 의해 유발된 액틴 네트워크의 수축에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 살펴보기 위해 액토마이오신 네트워크의 컴퓨터 모델링을 설계했다. 이 모델을 통해서 우리는 액틴 필라멘트의 강직도가 액토마이오신 네트워크에 대한 동적 특성에 미치는 영향을 관찰했다. 특히, 로컬 평균 제곱 변위(local MSD)를 시간에 대한 함수로 계산해서 액틴 필라멘트의 강직도는 액틴 네트워크의 수축 반응 시간과 초확산과 탄도 운동 사이의 활동성 정도를 바꾼다는 것을 확인했다. 더욱이 필라멘트 강직도의 특정 임계 값에서 네트워크의 수축 속도와 효율이 상승되는 것을 밝혔고, 이것은 세포 내 액틴 필라멘트의 강직도가 특정값을 가지는 이유을 설명한다. The actin network plays a critical role in cellular deformations. To investigate how the filamentous structure and the characteristics of actin affect the actin network contraction induced by myosin, a computational model of actomyosin network was designed. Using the developed model, we investigated the effect of actin filament rigidity on the dynamic characteristics of the actomyosin network. Particularly, by calculating local MSD as a function of time, we found that actin filament rigidity changes the response time and the mode of the actin network contraction between superdiffusion and ballistic motions. Furthermore, the critical value of the filament rigidity which increases the network contraction speed and the contraction efficiency, was found to be similar to the rigidity of the actin in vivo.
병렬형 하이브리드자동차용 벨트구동식 ISG시스템의 제어전략 개발

The aim of this paper is to show several improved control strategies for the belt-driven ISG system applied to the parallel hybrid vehicle which requires engine-speed synchronization with transmission input-shaft-speed and engine-clutchclosing sequence to activate the engine-driving mode(HEV mode) under the motor-driving mode(EV mode). To overcome communication-delay and ISG system-delay, estimation control method will be introduced. To overcome the problem of inexact engine-torque information, modified PID control will be proposed. Also it will be shown that proposed our clutchclosing strategy is effective to accelerate the overall response time while reducing the clutch-closing shock in the vehicle. All ideas mentioned above, were implemented and validated already in the real vehicle. We will show the test results for each idea. Finally, for the future studies by others, several new ideas for this system will be suggested without any proof.
