To investigate the effects of ethanol on the lipid metabolism in blood and liver, twenty one male Sprague Dawley rats had orally taken the 25% alcohol and 50% alcohol by 5g per Kg of weight during 3 weeks after the adjusting period. For the energy balance, 85% sucrose and 45% sucrose was added in control group and 25% alcohol group each. The weight was reduced by alcohol treatment according to the levels, otherwise the weight of liver and heart was little increased in alcohol groups rather than in control without significance. Moreover, RBC, WBC, hemoglobin and hematocrit were increased by alcohol treatment according to the levels without significance. Otherwise, adjusted bilirubin levels by 100g of weight was significantly increased by alcohol treatment dose dependently. Alcohol induced RBC degradation and increased circulated bilirubin because of liver damage. For blood lipid profiles, blood cholesterol was increased in 50% of alcohol group compared to that of 25% and control groups, otherwise, blood triglycerides (TG) was increased by 30% in 25% alcohol groups rather than in control but not significantly different. The hepatic lipid composition, cholesterol levels in alcohol treatment groups was lower than those in control. The hepatic TG was not influenced by alcohol treatment. The two reasons of decreasing hepatic lipids were suggested by 85% sucrose of control for energy balance more synthesized cholesterol and TG than those in 25 or 50% alcohol groups, and by cholesterol and TG could not be synthesized because of liver damage from alcohol.
한천, Sodium Alginate 및 Carrageenan첨가가 유과(부수게)바탕의 품질에 미치는 영향

This study was to evaluate effects of agar, sodium alginate and carrageenan on quality of Yugwa(Busuge) base. In the base preparation agar, sodium alginate and carrageenan were added 0.0, 0.1, 0.5, 1.0 and 3.0%(w/w), respectively. Volume, shape, hardness. color(L, a and b value), crude lipid content and sensory evaluation(taste and crispness) of the Yugwa base was measured. Volume of the base was higher than control in case of 0.1~0.5%(w/w) agar, sodium alginate and carrageenan, of which sodium alginate was the highest. Shapes were similar to control. Hardness and crude lipid content was decreased proportional to amount of addition of the three seesweed polysaccharides. the whiteness(L-value) was increased but the yellowness(a-value) and the redness(bvalue) decreased. Taste and crispness were increased in the case of 0.1~1.0%(w/w) of sodium alginate, but agar and carrageenan decreased.

As Korean government pusued a policy of unbalanced growth since early 1960s, local economy(small and medium enterprises) has not grown so fast as the whole economy (large enterprises). Further more recent economic environment such as the appreciation of Korean won, wage hikes and the rising protectionism of industrial countries made small and medium enterprises less capable of surviving in this adverse environment than large enterprises, because of their limited capital and disadb antage in raising funds. The problems in financing small and medium enterprises that have been accumulated for the past 30 years are : limited capital of the local banks that should be been centers in financing local enterprises, continuous outflow of the local fund, disintegrated financial assistance programs, poor functioning of the credit guarantee institutions. Economic policy priority should be placed on fostering small and medium enterprises, thus boosting the effects of employment generation and improving industrial flexibility. In the implementation of monetary policy, the following aspects of financial support for small and medium enterprises should be strengthened. First, financial assistance must be increased to support the efforts of small and medium enterprises for structural adjustment to cope effectively with the adverse environment. This will include the increase of investment to enhance productivity and expansion of business activities into new and promising fields. Second, in consideration of the prevailing financial liberalization trend, it is desirable that financial support should be given through enlarging the availability of financing for small and medium enterprises rather than through preferential treatment of them in the interest rates on their bank borrowings. In particular, financing for those enterprises by non-bank financial institutions, the Industrial Bank of Korea, and the Citizens National Bank should be expanded. And also large enterprises with heavy borrowing have to be urged to increase their direct financing through the capital market and to repay their bank loans, thus making funds available for lending to small and medium enterprises. In addition to these, the government needs to be more active in increasing preferential financing for small and medium enterprises at low interest rates. Third, it is desirable to enhance the efficiency of financial support through simplification or integration of the various financial assistance schemes for small and medium enterprises according to the use of funds and the function of financial institutions. In addition, the limited loanable funds for those enterprises should be directed to productive sectors such as parts and materials industry. Fourth, the function of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund has to be strengthened in order to increase credit guarantees to small and medium enterprises which generally suffer from a lack of adequate collateral. For this purpose, the Fund's financial resources should be enlarged through contributions from the government.
