This study was conducted to evaluate the possibility to apply the waste toothbrush to aerobic fixed biofilm reactor for media. The media used for this research was waste toothbrush (WTB) and Pall-Ring. The feed used for this research was synthetic wastewater which was made at the laboratory. The COD, NH₄^(+)- N and PO₄^(-3)-P removal efficiency variations with the organic loading rate was examined at this research. The conclusions drawn from these experiments are listed below : 1. When the influent COD concentration was respectively 300mg/ℓ, 600mg/ℓ, the COD removal efficiency was decreased with the increase of the organic loading rate and the COD removal efficiency for Pall-Ring was higher than the COD removal efficiency was 0.4~1.9%. 2. When the influent NH₄^(+)-N concentration was respectively 13mg/ℓ (COD 300mg/ℓ), 25mg/ℓ (COD 600mg/ℓ ), the NH₄^(+)-N removal efficiency for Pall-Ring was slightly higher than the NH₄^(+)-N removal efficiency for Wastetooth brush. The difference of NH₄^(+)-N removal efficiency was about 0.5~1.5%. 3. When the influent PO₄^(-3)-P concentration was respectively 7mg/ℓ (COD 300mg/ℓ), 14mg/ℓ (COD 600mg/ℓ ), the PO₄^(-3)-P removal efficiency for Pall-Ring was higher than the PO₄^(-3)-P removal efficiency for Wastetooth brush. The difference of PO₄^(-3)-P removal efficiency was about 1.1~2%. 4. COD, NH₄^(+)-N and PO₄^(-3)-P removal efficiencies show very small difference between Pall-Ring and Wastetooth brush as media. So it was showed that wastetooth brush can be used as media very successfully.
비유기중의 소유방염에 대한 항균펩타이드(Buforin Ⅱb)의 효능실험

Recently, a novel antimicrobial peptide including Buforin II has been emphasized to kill multi-drug resistant bacteria and avoid promoting multi-drug resistance. This study evaluated the efficacy of an antimicrobial peptide (Buforin IIb) on bovine mastitis. Based on the Minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC, 4 g/ml) of Buforin IIb, syringes were made five concentration(MIC×10, ×50, ×100, ×300, and ×500). Thirty three cows(38 quarters) with bovine mastitis were selected using California mastitis test and grouped in dependant on drug concentration and treatment duration. Each group treated by intramammary infusion twice a day for 3 5 days. The milk samples of 5 groups were aseptically collected from quarters at 0, 3, 7 and 14 days, and 2 groups were collected at 0, 5, 9 and 14 days after first treatment. Collected samples were used for bacterial culture and somatic cell count. Bacterial number(log_(10) mean CFU/ml) was decreased in dependant on drug concentration and extending treatment duration. In group D(MIC×300), bacterial number was decreased from 4.59±0.10(day 0) to 2.89±1.37(day 3), 4.04±0.33(day 7), and 4.19 ± 0.10(day 14), respectively(p 0.05). Bacterial number of B2(MIC×50, 5 days treated) is decreased, approximately 10%, than group B1(MIC×50, 3 days treated). Somatic cell count of group D was slightly decreased from 11,100(×10³)(day 0), to 7,386(×10³)(3 day), 6,886(×10³)(day 7), and 9,661(×10³)(day 14). Staphylococcus spp., was the most common isolate, was bacteriologically cured 100% by Buforin IIb treatment. Overall results indicate that Buforin IIb could have possibility to cure bovine mastitis, if higher concentration over experimental concentration were treated with extending treatment duration.

High level of blood cholesterol is one of the most important risk factor related with coronary heart disease and atherosclerosis. The main objective of this study was to investigate the cholesterol-lowering effect of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolated from human intestine and rutin extracted from buckwheat in high cholesterol-diet fed Sprague-Dawley rats. In addition, it was determined whether intestinal microflora composition is improved by LAB and/or rutin consumption. Five-week old male rats were administrated with 0.59 ㎎/㎏ B.W. of rutin and/or 1.5 × 10⁹-6 × 10⁹ cfu/㎏ B.W. of LAB as an oral route with cholesterol diet for 6 weeks. Total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol, and high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-cholesterol levels in blood were determined biweekly. The levels of total cholesterol, triglyceride and LDL-cholesterol were significantly decreased in rats administrated with rutin (Group A) compared to Positive control group at 4 weeks. Rats administrated with rutin and LAB (Group C) showed also a significantly reduced triglyceride and the ratio of LDL against total cholesterol, and increased the ratio of HDL. The relative liver weights were significantly decreased in all treated groups compared to positive control group at 6 weeks. In bacteriological analysis, the number of Streptococcus and Lactobacillus was significantly increased in rats administrated with LAB (Group B). On the other hand, the number and the frequency of occurrence of Enterobacteriaceae were significantly decreased in Group B. This study suggested that combined administration of rutin and LAB has a hypocholesterolemic effect and could be used to prevent coronary heart disease and atherosclerosis as well as fatty liver. In addition, they would make an improvement of the intestinal microflora composition by decreasing putrefactive bacteria and increasing LAB.

<P>The Hansen solubility parameters (HSPs) of as-produced multi-walled carbon nanotubes (APMWCNTs) were determined by means of the inverse gas chromatography (IGC) technique. Due to non-homogeneous surfaces of the APMWCNTs arising from defects and impurities, it was necessary to establish adequate working conditions for determining the HSPs of the CNTs. We then obtained the HSPs of the APMWCNTs and compared these results with earlier reports as determined by using sedimentation and molecular dynamics simulation methods. It was found that the determination of the HSPs of the CNTs by IGC can give an enhanced determination range based on the adsorption thermodynamic parameters, compared to the HSPs determined using sedimentation methods. And the HSPs of the APMWCNTs, determined here, provided good guidelines for the selection of feasible solvents that can improve the dispersion of the APMWCNTs.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>HSPs of the APMWCNTs were determined by the IGC method. 본 연구는 광주와 주요 교역대상국인 미국, 일본, 중국 간 산업내무역을 분석하였다. 산업내무역 분석은 먼저 수평적 산업내무역과 수직적 산업내무역으로 나누고 다시 수직적 산업내무역 중에서 임계치를 0.25로 선정하여 저품질 수직적 산업내무역과 고품질 수직적 산업내무역을 하는 제품으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 광주는 중국과 저품질 수직적 산업내무역을 하는 제품이 거의 없으며 일부 품목에서는 수평적 산업내무역을 하고 있는 것으로 나타나 광주가 중국에 고품질의 제품을 많이 수출하고 저품질 제품을 수입하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 반면 일본 또는 미국과는 주로 저품질 산업내무역을 하고 있어 저품질제품을 수출하고 고품질 제품을 수입하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 중국과는 다르게 고품질 수직적산업내무역도 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과에 따라, 수출마케팅 방안으로는 고부가치형수출체제로의 전환, 성숙단계별 차별화 전략, 현지진출 네트워크 구축, 지역 내 중소기업의 네트워크 구축, 무역전시회에 대한 정부의 지원, 지방 중소기업에 대한 특화 프로그램을 제시하였다. This study is to analyze Gwangju’s trade structures with China, Japan and the United Sates, and to contribute, through clarification of product competitiveness, to minimizing free-trade-induced costs as well as maximizing profits from free trade. To obtain this study purpose, two export competitiveness indicators are used; they are Trade Specialization Index (TSI) and Grubel & Lloyd(GL) Index. Intra-industry trade is examined to see if there exists a technological gap between nations. Intra-industry trade is divided into two; Low Quality Vertical Intra-Industry Trade (LQVIIT) and High Quality Vertical Intra-Industry Trade (HQVIIT). Gwangju"s trade with China is HQVIIT; Gwangju exports high-quality and high-priced items to China, and imports low-quality and low-priced ones. On the other hand, Gwangu"s trade with Japan is mainly LQVIIT; Gwangju exports low-quality and low-priced processed stuffs to Japan, and imports high-quality and high-priced ones from Japan. While Korea-US is mainly of both high-quality and low-quality Vertical Intra-Industry Trade; Gwangju exports low-quality and low-priced items as well as high-quality and high-priced items to the USA. Based on the analysis result, export marketing strategies are presented as follows: the transition to high value-added export system, the local entry networking, government support for trade exhibition, offer of special program on local small businesses.

The main purpose of this paper is to show the effects of exchange rate and industrial production on the visiting demand of Hallyeo Marine National Park(Hallyeohaesang National park) using econometric tools. The study was conducted by modelling the visiting demand as exchange rate, industrial production, and seasonal dummies. All series span from January 2008 to December 2013. We first checked whether the series and model were stationary at a 5 percent significance level. The statistical result noted that we should not reject the null hypothesis of a unit root in all variables and of a unit root for residuals at the 5 percent significance level (cointegration regression was used). We also made use of forecast error decomposition and historical decompositions. After 12 months, the proportions of the forecast error variance of visitors alone were around 70 percent in all of three ordering combinations. All in all, innovation accounting indicates that visitors are somewhat exogenous towards exchange rate and business activity. The historical decomposition for visitors, however, shows that the difference between economic variables and visitors is negligible since both exchange rate and industrial production move closer to the actual data. We also made use of impulse response functions, which are widely used to examine how movement in one variable can be explained by innovations in different variables and how fluctuations in one variable can be rapidly transmitted to another. The impulse responses indicate that visitors decrease sharply to the shocks in exchange rate and decay quickly to its pre-shock level. Visitors also respond positively to the shocks in business activity and disappear very slowly, which shows that the shocks last very long.
CNG 혼소율 변화에 따른 디젤엔진의 성능 및 연소 특성에 관한 연구

전 세계적으로 천연가스 시장에서는 천연가스의 저열량화 추세로 뚜렷하게 변화되고 있다. 이러한 추세는 국내의 천연가스 열량기준에 변화를 가져왔으며, 낮은 열량의 천연가스 도입으로 인해 현재 사용되고 있는 가스기기의 성능에도 변화가 있을 것으로 예측된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 혼소엔진의 연소특성을 파악하기 위해 CNG 혼소율 변화를 이용하여 열효율, 도시평균유효압력 변동계수 및 열방출 특성을 고찰하였다. CNG 혼소율은 투입되는 연료의 총합 대비 공급되는 천연가스연료의 에너지로 계산하여 천연가스연료가 디젤연료를 대체하는 비율로 정의하였다. 엔진 실험조건으로는 공급되는 천연가스의 발열량은 10,400 ㎉/N㎥이며, 1800 rpm/500 N·m의 엔진 운전조건에서 디젤연료의 분사시기는 BTDC 16°CA, 분사압력은 85 ㎫로 설정하여 엔진의 성능 및 연소 실험을 진행하였다. 엔진 실험결과로 CNG 혼소율이 변화함에 따라 공급되는 디젤 연료량 역시 변화하고, CNG 혼소율이 증가할수록 디젤 연료량이 감소함으로써 점화에너지가 줄어들어 점화지연기간이 길어지는 연소특성을 나타내며, 이로 인해 엔진의 열효율과 출력도 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 그러나 연소안정성은 5% 미만으로 안정적인 엔진의 연소상태를 보여 실험의 신뢰성을 확보할 수 있었다. In the international natural gas market, natural gas has markedly low calories. The domestic calories standard of natural gas was changed and the performance and efficiency of many industrial machines using natural gas were affected because of low caloric natural gas. Therefore, in this study, a dual fuel engine fueled with natural gas and diesel was tested to examine the effects of the CNG substitution rate on the combustion characteristics, such as thermal efficiency, COVimep and heat release rate. The CNG substitution rate was defined as the ratio of CNG instead of diesel, which was calculated as the total energy. The conditions of the tested engine were fixed 1800 rpm/500 N·m. In addition, diesel fuel was injected at 16°CA BTDC and the fuel pressure was fixed at 85 ㎫; the lower heating value of CNG was 10,400 ㎉/N㎥. The results of the engine test showed that the amount of diesel fuel was changed according to the CNG substitution rate. Therefore, when the substitution rate was increased, the amount of diesel fuel was decreased, which affected the energy for ignition. In addition, the ignition delay duration was increased, which affected the thermal efficiency and torque. On the other hand, the COVimep was less than 5% and a stable combustion state of the engine was shown.
Nord2000의 철도차량 분류기준에 따른 소음지도 결과 비교

Recent development of related technologies and efficient utilization of the entire country for the purpose of railway construction, and plans are being accelerated. the railway noise has been improved by increasing the high speed railway station, and accelerating the existing trains. Nord2000 which is an overseas noise prediction equation could not be applied directly to the domestic railway vehicles. So the specific vehicles in the Nordic countries which is a similar specification to domestic trains should be selected. Nord2000s accuracy was compared to Schal103, CRNs. Prediction of Ground impedance and Roughness class carried out at different. In this paper, the result of selected vehicles for Nord2000 was as follows. S-laX2 was for express trains, N-*2c-3b was for Mugunghwa, S-Pass/wood was for Saemaul, N-4a was for freight trains, N-3a was for subway. the calculation time for Nord2000 took longer than others. in addition, Ground absorption was indispensable to calculate a noise map for Nord2000. As a result, CRNs prediction noise levels at Wonju-si was closest to the measurements. However, the predicted noise levels of Nord2000 was the most accurate.
