<P>DNA methylation is a primary epigenetic modification regulating gene expression and chromatin structure in many eukaryotes. Plants have a unique DNA demethylation system in that 5-methylcytosine (5mC) is directly removed by DNA demethylases, such as DME/ROS1 family proteins, but little is known about the downstream events. During 5mC excision, DME produces 3′-phosphor-α, β-unsaturated aldehyde and 3′-phosphate by successive β- and δ-eliminations, respectively. The kinetic studies revealed that these 3′-blocking lesions persist for a significant amount of time and at least two different enzyme activities are required to immediately process them. We demonstrate that <I>Arabidopsis</I> AP endonucleases APE1L, APE2 and ARP have distinct functions to process such harmful lesions to allow nucleotide extension. <I>DME</I> expression is toxic to <I>E. coli</I> due to excessive 5mC excision, but expression of <I>APE1L</I> or <I>ARP</I> significantly reduces DME-induced cytotoxicity. Finally, we propose a model of base excision repair and DNA demethylation pathway unique to plants.</P>

Malware는 인터넷 혹은 일반 네트워크 사용자의 컴퓨터에 설치되어 의도하지 않은 악의적인 행위와 정보의 유출을 목적으로 하는 프로그램이다. Malware의 성향 분석은 Malware의 행위를 분석하는 것으로서 실제 Malware의 행위를 이용하여 가상의 Malware를 생성하고 두 Malware가 가지는 전파 과정상의 트래픽을 비교함으로써, 네트워크 상의 특성을 비교 및 검증할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 Malware를 분석하고 가상 Malware를 제작하여 두 Malware가 발생하는 행위, 즉 네트워크 트래픽 데이터를 비교하여 가상의 Malware가 실제의 Malware와 통일한 네트워크 트래픽을 발생 시키는지 확인하기 위해 통계적인 모델링 기법인 GAM을 이용해 비교 및 검증하는 방법에 대해 제안한다.

In this paper, a automatic transmission(AT) based 2-shaft parallel hybrid electric vehicle(HEV) transmission system is proposed. Powertrain model of the HEV is obtained and a performance simulator is developed. It is found from the simulation result that 4-speed AT based HEV provides 45% improvement of fuel economy compared with that of base vehicle.
Bias Compensated Least Mean Mixed-norm Adaptive Filtering Algorithm Robust to Impulsive Noises

This paper proposes the bias-compensated normalized least mean mixed-norm (BC-LMMN) algorithm robust to the impulsive noises. This algorithm is derived from the cost function that uses mixed-norm of the l₂ norm and l₄ norm, where a mixing parameter is used to combine them. To reduce the bad effects of impulsive noises, two methods step-size scaler (SSS) and modified Huber function (MHF) are utilized. The SSS is derived from the modified log type cost function and is applied to the proposed algorithm to make the algorithm robust against the impulsive noises. MHF is a piece-wise linear function and effective in the impulsive noise environment. An unbiasedness criterion is adopted to eliminate the bias caused by the input noises and derive the bias compensation vector. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the traditional algorithms in the aspect of the convergence rate and the steady-state misalignment.
파워트레인 다이나모를 이용한 후룬기반 4WD 시스템의 연비 특성 평가

4WD vehicles are better at handling and driving safety than 2WD vehicles, but the weight and power loss of the vehicle will be increased by additional driving devices, resulting in a drop in fuel economy. Therefore research is needed to improve the fuel economy of 4WD vehicles and how to evaluate and validate them. However it is difficult to measure actual improvement rate of fuel efficiency of vehicles through single unit evaluation. And evaluation using a vehicle chassis dynamo is limited to the number of assessments dependent on the cost. In order to overcome these shortcomings of vehicle fuel economy assessment, Hyundai Wia has developed a more efficient analysis of the fuel economy factor of 4WD vehicles and the reliability of the improved fuel economy. Hyundai WIA has developed the 4WD Powertrain Dynamometer (PT Dynamo) to overcome the disadvantages of this assessment and to verify the effective analysis of the fuel economy factors of 4WD vehicles and the reliability of the measures to improve fuel economy. PT Dynamo includes most of the actual vehicle’s driven systems, such as the vehicle’s engine, transmission, 4WD Transfer case, and differential gear. It is also designed to enable simulated driving on the vehicle’s driving load characteristics and tire surface friction models in real time. This study has developed and verified PT Dynamo and evaluated the fuel economy characteristics of 4WD vehicles, and would like to provide a more efficient way to improve fuel economy.
