Strut-and-tie models can illustrate very well the internal flow of forces in structural concrete and thereby, provide valuable assistance to the designer who is striving for an appropriate and functional conceptual design. After some introductory statements this will be demonstrated by dimensioning and detailing the support region of concrete box girders. In this paper it will be shown how a strut-and-tie model for the different arrangement of transverse diaphragm are developed and how in the model the interaction between the longitudinal and cross sections must be considered.
벼 褐色葉枯病에 關한 硏究 : 벼 品種間抵抗性에 對하여 Rice Vrietal Resistance to Rice leaf Scald

This experiment was conducted to obtain basic information on the breeding for the disease resistnat rice varieties by clarifying the degree of varietal resistance to Rhynchosporium oryzae which was known as a new disease of the rice variety "Tongil" in Korea. The results obtained are as follows; 1. The varietal difference of resistance to this fungus showed some similarity in the spraying inoculation at the seedling stage, but the ratio of lesion enlargement in the soaking inoculation at the heading tsage showed remarkable difference. 2. Indicatype and Indica x Japonica type varieties were relatively more susceptible to this fungus than Japonica type varieties. 3. Among the Japonica type varieties tested, upland rice varieties were more susceptible than paddy rice varieties, and Korean developed varieties such as Jaekeun, Nongbaek, Palkeum, Pungkwang, etc., were more resistant than Korean native and introduced varieties. The most susceptible varieties among the tested varieties were Suweon 264, 230, 265, 262, Milyang 29, Iri 326, etc., which were Indica Japonica crosses.
Plasmaspheric contribution to the GPS TEC

We performed a comprehensive comparison between GPS Global Ionosphere Map (GIM) and TOPEX/Jason (T-J) TEC data for the periods of 1998~2009 in order to assess the performance of GIM over the global ocean where the GPS ground stations are very sparse. Using the GIM model constructed by CODE at University of Bern, the GIM TEC values were obtained along the T-J satellite orbit at the locations and times of the measurements and then binned into various geophysical conditions for direct comparison with the T-J TECs. On the whole, the GIM model was able to reproduce the spatial and temporal variations of the global ionosphere as well as the seasonal variations. However, the GIM model was not accurate enough to represent the well-known ionospheric structures such as the equatorial anomaly, the Weddell Sea Anomaly, and the longitudinal wave structure. Furthermore, there seems to be a fundamental limitation of the model showing the unexpected negative differences (i.e., GPS < T-J) in the northern high latitude and the southern middle and high latitude regions. The positive relative differences (i.e., GIM > T-J) at night represent the plasmaspheric contribution to GPS TEC, which is maximized, reaching up to 100% of the corresponding T-J TEC values in the early morning sector. In particular, the relative differences decreased with increasing solar activity and this may indicate that the plasmaspheric contribution to the maintenance of the nighttime ionosphere does not increase with solar activity, which is different from what we normally anticipate. Among these results, the plasmaspheric contribution to the ionospheric GPS TEC will be presented in this talk and the rest of it will presented in the companion paper (poster presentation).
Fabrication of Thin Solid Oxide Film Fuel Cells

Recently, thin film processes for oxides and metal deposition, such as physical vapor deposition (PVD) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD), have been widely adapted to fabricate solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). In this paper, we presented two research area of the use of such techniques. Gadolinium doped ceria (GDC) showed high ionic conductivity and could guarantee operation at low temperature. But the electron conductivity at low oxygen partial pressure and the weak mechanical property have been significant problems. To solve these issues, we coated GDC electrolyte with a nano scale yittria-doped stabilized zirconium (YSZ) layer via atomic layer deposition (ALD). We expected that the thin YSZ layer could have functions of electron blocking and preventing ceria from the reduction atmosphere. Yittria-doped barium zirconium (BYZ) has several orders higher proton conductivity than oxide ion conductor as YSZ and also has relatively high chemical stability. The fabrication processes of BYZ is very sophisticated, especially the synthesis of thin-film BYZ. We discussed the detailed fabrication processes of BYZ as well as the deposition of electrode. This paper discusses possible cell structure and process flow to accommodate such films.
교차편파 격리도를 개선한 이중선형 편파 시뉴어스 안테나의 설계 및 제작

본 논문에서는 교차편파 격리도(XPI; cross polarization isolation)를 개선한 이중선형 편파 시뉴어스 안테나를 설계 및 제작하였다. 제안된 시뉴어스 안테나는 이중선형 편파 발생을 위해 4개의 암(arm) 방사체로 구성되며, 클로펜스타인 테이퍼(Klopfenstein taper) 구조의 광대역 마이크로스트립 발룬을 통해 급전된다. 또한 후방 반사파 감소를 위해 2단 원통형 캐비티 구조를 적용하였다. 캐비티 내부에는 반사파에 의한 성능 저하를 감소시키기 위해 허니컴 형태의 흡수체를 삽입하였다. 설계된 시뉴어스 안테나는 저대역에서의 교차편파 격리도를 개선하기 위해 최외각 암패턴과 캐비티의 림(rim) 사이에 저항을 적용하였다. 제작된 안테나는 저대역에서 교차편파 격리도가 개선되어 편파 측정을 위한 안테나로 적용 가능함을 확인하였다. In this paper, we design and fabricate a dual liner polarization sinuous antenna with improved cross polarization isolation (XPI). The proposed antenna is composed of four arm radiators for generating dual linear polarization and excited by wideband microstrip balun with Klopfenstein taper structure. Also, two-step cylindrical cavity structure is applied to reduce back radiation. Honeycomb-typed absorbing material is inserted into the cavity to reduce performance degradation by reflected wave. To enhance cross polarization isolation in low frequency band, resistors are adapted between outer arm and the rim of cavity. We confirmed that the fabricated antenna can be applied for polarization measurement due to improved XPI in the low band.

In this paper, a new simple control method for active power filter which can realized the complete compensation of the harmonic currents is proposed In the proposed scheme, a compensating current reference generator employing lossless resonato implemented by a DSP(Digital Signal Processor) is introduced. Deadbeat control is employed to contro the active power filter The switching pulse width based SVM(Space Vector Modulation) is adopted so that the current of acttve power filter is been exactly equal to its reference at the next sampling Instant To compensate the computation delay of digital controller, the prediction of current is achieved by the current observer with deadbeat response
