Background: Health-related quality of life (HRQL) is a fundamental outcome in oncology patients and quality of life (QOL) assessment requires clinically relevant questionnaires. The purpose of this study was translation and definition of measurement properties and the clinical validity of Quality of Life Questionnaire (QLQ)-OG25 module in Persian patients with oesophagus, oesophagogastric junction (OGJ) or gastric cancers. Materials and Methods: The translation procedure followed European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) guidelines. Both EORTC QLQ-OG25 and a core questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30) were administered to patients with oesophagus (150), OG junction (93) and gastric (32) cancer undergoing multi-modal treatments. Convergent and discriminant validity, Cronbach's alpha coefficient and known-groups comparisons were used to examine reliability and validity. Results: In all, 275 patients (mean age 62 years) completed both questionnaires. Compliance rate was high and the questionnaire module was well accepted. We found good reliability for multi-item subscales of QLQ-OG25 (Cronbach's alpha coefficients 0.76-0.89). About 73% had TNM staging and scales distinguished between clinically distinct groups of patients. However, patients in palliative group experienced compromised functional status and worse treatment-associated symptoms than those in the potentially curative group. Test-retest scores were consistent. Multi-trait scaling analysis demonstrated good convergent and discriminant validity. Conclusions: Overall, the Persian version of QLQ-OG25 demonstrated psychometric and clinical validity that supports its application as a supplement to the original tool (EORTC QLQ-C30) when assessing HRQL in patients with upper-gastrointestinal (GI) cancer both in curative and palliative phases.
A New Approach to Improve Induction Motor Performance in Light-Load Conditions

Induction motors often reach their maximum efficiency at the nominal load. In most applications, the machine load is not equal to the nominal load, thus reduces the motor efficiency and turns a greater percent of power into loss. In this paper, the induction motor control problem has been investigated to reduce the system losses. The Field Oriented Control method (FOC) has been employed in this paper. In this research, the mathematical equations related to system losses are calculated in relation to torque and speed, and then the q- and d-axis are summarized according to the current components. After that, the proposed method is applied along with d- and q-axis. In the recent three decades, many techniques have been suggested to improve the induction motor performance using smart and non-smart methods. In this paper, a new PSO-Fuzzy method have used in real time. The fuzzy logic method serves as speed controller in q-axis and PSO algorithm controls the optimum flux in d-axis. It will be proved that the use of this combined method will lead to a significant improvement in motor efficiency.

Regional Economic Integration in Asia: Challenges and Recommended Policies

Regional economic integration is one of the most effective ways of fostering stability, addressing regional challenges, and increasing rates of economic growth. Strengthening regional cooperation and integration in different Asian sub-regions offers great potential for eliminating poverty and achieving inclusive and sustainable development. Hurdles remain, however, for further integration. The willingness to commit to “unity in diversity” is important to overcoming this, requiring the acceptance of cultural, linguistic, social, religious, and political differences. Such complex unities have been achieved in the European Union (EU) and elsewhere (Fella, 2002). Currently, in most Asian sub-regions, such political ambitions for economic integration have been scarce. This implies that a more cautious approach is needed in Asia than in other places. However, by studying the European context, we can derive valuable lessons for better fostering economic integration. Regional economic integration should first ensure the maximization of benefits for all participants. With this, complete cooperation is required to develop an effective and uniform regional business environment. Second, a well-developed infrastructure with an absence of trade barriers is needed. Various Asian sub-regions (e.g., Central and South Asia), however, suffer from a lack of infrastructure, which hinders trade opportunities. Difficulties in accessing capital also presents a key obstacle. In this regard, the role of infrastructure financing is very important. In the EU, their European Investment Bank maintains equitable financing for intra-EU projects. Open engagements with partner countries also play a key role. Third, over the past 30 years, different institutional mechanisms have sprung into existence in Europe that have created the basis for strategic economic integration. Such institutional mechanisms and initiatives are needed in Asia.

Let $R_e=\frac{\mathbb{F}_{p^m}[u]}{\langle u^e \rangle}$, where $p$ is a prime number, $ e $ is a positive integer and $u^e=0$. In this paper, we first characterize the structure of cyclic codes of length $p^s$ over $R_e$. These codes will be classified into $2^e $ distinct types. Among other results, in the case that $e=4$, the torsion codes of cyclic codes of length $ p^s $ over $ R_4$ are obtained. Also, we present some examples of cyclic codes of length $p^s $ over $R_e$.

This paper assesses the impact of financial integration on financial development and establishes thresholds for materializing gains of financial advances from financial globalization using a sample of 34 countries from the East Asian and Pacific region. Following the approaches of Kose et al. (2011) and Asongu and De Moor (2016), we test non-linearity within the financial openness and financial development nexus through semi-parametric ordinary least-squares regression, and then, we develop threshold dynamics models. According to our findings, the effect of financial integration on financial development significantly changes across different financial inflows. When using external debt as a proxy for financial openness, there exists a robust significant inverted U-shaped relationship between financial integration and financial development. The empirical findings also suggest that the financial integration-development nexus is contingent on the level of trade openness, national income, and institutional quality. The results are robust to different measures of financial development and integration, the inclusion of other determinants of financial development, and considerations of endogeneity.

In this paper we introduce the total graph of R with respect to identity-summand elements, denoted by T(${\Gamma}(R)$), and investigate basic properties of S(R) which help us to gain interesting results about T(${\Gamma}(R)$) and its subgraphs.

An element r of a commutative semiring R with identity is said to be identity-summand if there exists $1{\neq}a{\in}R$ such that r+a = 1. In this paper, we introduce and investigate the identity-summand graph of R, denoted by ${\Gamma}(R)$. It is the (undirected) graph whose vertices are the non-identity identity-summands of R with two distinct vertices joint by an edge when the sum of the vertices is 1. The basic properties and possible structures of the graph ${\Gamma}(R)$ are studied.

Let R be a semiring, I a strong co-ideal of R and S(I) the set of all elements of R which are not prime to I. In this paper we investigate some interesting properties of S(I) and introduce the total identity-summand graph of a semiring R with respect to a co-ideal I. It is the graph with all elements of R as vertices and for distinct x, $y{\in}R$, the vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if $xy{\in}S(I)$.
