Somatic Complaints Are Significantly Associated with Chronic Uninvestigated Dyspepsia and Its Symptoms: A Large Cross-sectional Population Based Study

( Zahra Heidari ),( Ammar Hassanzadeh Keshteli ),( Awat Feizi ),( Hamid Afshar ),( Payman Adibi ) 대한소화기기능성질환·운동학회(구 대한소화관운동학회) 2017 Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (JNM Vol.23 No.1

Background/Aims Somatization may influence persistence and severity of symptoms in gastrointestinal diseases. Some studies suggest that somatization is associated with chronic uninvestigated dyspepsia (CUD); however, the association is unclear. We aimed to determine the association between the profiles of somatic complaints with CUD and its symptoms. Methods In a cross-sectional study conducted on 4763 Iranian adults, somatic complaints were assessed using a comprehensive 31-items questionnaire. Patients with CUD were identified by the Rome III diagnostic criteria. Profiles of somatic complaints were derived from factor analysis. Logistic regression analysis was used to assess the relationship between extracted profiles with CUD and its symptoms. Results CUD, bothersome postprandial fullness, early satiation, and epigastric pain or burning was identified in 723 (15.2%), 384 (8.1%), 302 (6.3%), and 371 (7.8%) of the study population. The frequency of all 31 somatic complaints was significantly higher in patients with CUD compared with controls (P < 0.001), and the most frequent was severe fatigue (45.1%). The profiles of somatic complaints were extracted in 4 domains, including “psychological”, “gastrointestinal”, “neuro-skeletal”, and “pharyngeal-respiratory”. The psychological (OR, 1.49; 95% CI, 1.44-1.54), gastrointestinal (OR, 2.22; 95% CI, 2.09-2.37), neuro-skeletal (OR, 1.52; 95% CI, 1.44- 1.59), and pharyngeal-respiratory (OR, 2.09; 95% CI, 1.94-2.25) profiles were significantly associated with greater odds of CUD. Conclusions CUD and its symptoms are strongly associated with higher levels of somatic complaints and their related extracted profiles. This perhaps explains that why it can be difficult to treat, however further prospective investigations are required to confirm these associations. (J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2017;23:80-91)

Predictors of Quality of Life in Infertile Couples

        Zahra Royani,Mohammad Heidari,Mahboubeh Vatanparast,Farideh Yaghmaei,Athareh Kalantari Sarcheshme,Jamileh Khademi Majomerd 대한폐경학회 2019 대한폐경학회지 Vol.25 No.1

Objectives: This study was conducted with the aim of examines the quality of life of infertile couples and their relationship with the practical resilience of infertile couples referring to Yazd’s centers of infertility. Methods: This research is a descriptive-correlational study. The research population consisted of all infertile couples who referred to Infertility Centers in Yazd, Iran in the winter of 2016. Sampling was conducted in a non-random and accessible manner. The instrument used in the research included a) demographic information questionnaire, b) Conner and Davidson’s Resilience Scale, and c) quality of life infertile couples questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS software version 17 at a significant level of P ˂ 0.05. To describe the data, descriptive statistics methods were used and the inferential statistics (Pearson correlation coefficient, regression, independent t test, and variance analysis) were used to test the research hypotheses. Results: People (202 couples) participated in this research. Three variables of resilience (β = 0.04, P = 0.04), gender (β = −0.22, P < 0.001), and education level (β = 0.21, P < 0.001) had a prediction coefficient and there was a significant relationship with quality of life. Conclusions: This study showed that resilience, gender, and education predict the quality of life of infertile couples. In the infertile couples counseling program, resilience should be considered as a coping factor.

      • Mitochondrial D-Loop Polymorphism and Microsatellite Instability in Prostate Cancer and Benign Hyperplasia Patients

Ashtiani, Zahra Ousati,Heidari, Mansour,Hasheminasab, Sayed-Mohammad,Ayati, Mohsen,Rakhshani, Naser Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.8

In this study mitochondrial D-Loop variations in Iranian prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) patients were investigated. Tumour samples and corresponding non-cancerous prostate tissue from 40 prostate cancer patients and 40 age-matched BPH patients were collected. The entire mtD-loop region (16024-576) was amplified using the PCR method and products were gel-purified and subjected to direct nucleotide sequencing. A total of 129 variations were found, the most frequent being 263A${\rightarrow}$G and 310T${\rightarrow}$C among both BPH and prostate cancer patients. Variation of 309 C${\rightarrow}$T was significantly more frequent in prostate cancer patients (P value<0.05). Four novel variations were observed on comparison with the MITOMAP database. Novel variations were np16154delT, np366G${\rightarrow}$A, np389G${\rightarrow}$A and 56insT. There was no correspondence between the different variations and the age of subjects. Considering that D-loop variations were frequent in both BPH and prostate cancer patients in our study, the fact that both groups had high average age can be a possible contributing factor. D-loop polymorphisms and microsatellite instability can influence cell physiology and result in a benign or malignant phenotype. Significantly higher frequency of 309 C${\rightarrow}$T variation in cancer patients is a notable finding and must be a focus of attention in future studies.

Analysis of genetic diversity in a collection of Plantago species: application of ISSR markers

        Bagheri Motahareh,Heidari Bahram,Dadkhodaie Ali,Heidari Zahra,Daneshnia Negar,Richards Christopher M. 한국작물학회 2022 Journal of crop science and biotechnology Vol.25 No.1

The analysis of genetic diversity in medicinal plant species can greatly facilitate germplasm conservation and selection for use in breeding schemes. The aim of the present study was to assess the genetic diversity and diferentiation of eight Plantago species using inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers. Thirty-one Plantago accessions belonging to eight species were collected from Iran environments. Polymorphisms in the DNA of Plantago accessions were analyzed using 25 ISSR primers. The data for 286 polymorphic bands indicated that the ISSR primers each amplifed 5–21 polymorphic amplicons that were 100–3000 bp in size. The mean polymorphism was 83.83% and fve primers showed higher polymorphism. The polymorphism information content (PIC) ranged from 0.1103 to 0.3829 with a mean of 0.2727. Accessions in P. amplexicaulis and P. pysillum represented the highest Nei’s and Shannon’s genetic diversity, while the lowest was obtained for P. lagopus. The phenetic network generated by the Neighbor-Net algorithm showed moderate confict and splitting of the eight species. Principal coordinate analysis (PCoA) results showed the separation of accessions of the eight species. The results suggest that ISSR markers can diferentiate Plantago species and that information on genetic diversity may assist in pre-breeding evaluations and Plantago germplasm conservation.

Investigation forMaize Inbred Lines Resistance to Maize Rough Dwarf Virus(MRDV)

        Afshar. Estakhr,Bahram. Heidari,Ali Dadkhodaie,Mahmood Masoumi,Hassan Pakniyat,Zahra Ahmadi 한국작물학회 2016 Journal of crop science and biotechnology Vol.19 No.1

Maize rough dwarf virus (MRDV) is the most important disease affecting maize growth in Iran. In the present study, the putative resistance capacity of 35 maize inbred lines against the causal agents of MRDVwas studied under natural field infection in 2010 and 2011. The viral transmitter was a plant hopper known as Laodelphax steriatellus. Early sowing provided suitable temperatures for vector propagation and transmission and therefore natural infection under field conditions. Sowing single rows of SC704 as vector spreader between every five rows of inbred lines caused adequate vector propagation and viral transmission. This shows that viral infection was sufficient and possible resistance was linked to viral resistance, not failure, in vector transmission. In principal component biplot, plant height vector had wide angles with the vectors for disease severity index and MRDV incidence that showed the negative association of plant height with MRDV disease. The percentage of natural infection to MRDV in susceptible control(SC704) was about 64%. The genotypes A679, K3547/3, K3545/6, K3653/2, and B84 were more susceptible to MRDV. Only the line K3640/3 had low disease incidence and severity and it can be considered as resistant for possible use in genetic studies. Results showed that an early sowing of maize in temperate regions increases the chance of transmitting viruses via their vector.

      • Overexpression of the MUC1 Gene in Iranian Women with Breast Cancer Micrometastasis

        Mansouri, Neda,Movafagh, Abolfazl,Soleimani, Shahrzad,Taheri, Mohammad,Hashemi, Mehrdad,Pour, Atefeh Heidary,Shargh, Shohreh Alizadeh,Mosavi-Jarahi, Alireza,Sasaninejad, Zahra,Zham, Hanieh,Hajian, Par Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.no.sup3

The membrane epithelial mucin MUC1 is expressed at the luminal surface of most simple epithelial cells, but expression is greatly increased in most breast cancers. The aims of present study were to investigate expression of the MUC1 gene and interactive affects in metastases. Whole cell RNA isolation from 50 sentinel lymph nodes (SNLs) of breast cancer patients was performed using reverse transcription and real-time PCR. All patients were diagnosed with breast cancer and without metastasis, confirmed by IHC staining. The evaluation of tumor and normal samples for expression of MUC1 gene, the results were 49.1% non-expressive and 45.3% expression (Student t, p = 0.03). Also in comparison of normal breast tissue and breast cancer SLN for MUC1 gene, MUC1 negative SLNs were 75.0% (18 samples) and MUC1 positive samples were 25.0% (6 samples). Over-expression of MUC1 gene may offer a target for therapy related to progression and metastasis in women with breast cancer.

        Farzin Piltan,Omid Avatefipour,Samira Soltani,Omid Mahmoudi,Mahmoud Reza Safaei Nasrabad,Mehdi Eram,Zahra Esmaeili,Sara Heidari,Kamran Heidari,Mohammad Mahidi Ebrahimi 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.9 No.1

Most of controllers need real time mobility operation so one of the most important devices which can be used to solve this challenge is Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). FPGA can be used to design a controller in a single chip Integrated Circuit (IC). To have higher implementation speed with good performance cMinimum Control Unit (MCU) is implemented on Spartan 3E FPGA using Xilinx software. Design a 4 bits Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)- based carry lookahead MCU is the main challenging works. MCU is control unit to control of data transfer between input and output and process the input data. In this research, MCU is used to control the 4 bits, Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU). Combinational logic characterized by its propagation delay and contamination delay. To reduce the delay hardware description language (HDL) type of programming is very important. To reduce the route delay and logic delay, type of HDL design is very important. In this research, we used lookahead design, which reduce about 10% delay in comparison with ripple carry.
