        Effects of Phosphodiesterase 5 Inhibition with Sildenafil on Atrial Contractile and Secretory Function

        Selective inhibition of phosphodiesterase (PDE) 5 opened a new therapeutic approach for cardiovascular disorders. Therefore, the effect of PDE5 inhibition on the cardiac function should thoroughly be defined. The purpose of the present study was to define the effects of sildenafil, a selective inhibitor of PDE5, on the atrial cGMP efflux, atrial dynamics, and the release of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP). By perfusing rabbit left atria to allow atrial pacing, changes in atrial stroke volume and pulse pressure, transmural extracellular fluid translocation, cGMP efflux, and ANP secretion were measured. SIN-1, an NO donor and soluble (s) guanylyl cyclase (GC) activator, and C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP), an activator of particulate (p) GC activator, were used. Sildenafil increased basal levels of cGMP efflux slightly but not significantly. Sildenafil in a therapeutic dose increased atrial dynamics (for atrial stroke volume, 2.84⁑1.71%, n=12, vs ⁣0.71⁑0.86%, n=21; p<0.05) and decreased ANP release (⁣9.02⁑3.36%, n=14, vs 1.35⁑3.25%, n=23; p<0.05), however, it had no effect on the SIN-1- or CNP-induced increase of cGMP levels. Furthermore, sildenafil in a therapeutic dose accentuated SIN-1-induced, but not CNP- induced, decrease of atrial pulse pressure and ANP release. These data indicate that PDE5 inhibition with sildenafil has a minor effect on cGMP levels, but has a distinct effect on pGC-cGMP- and sGC- cGMP-induced contractile and secretory function.

        중국학계가 보는 한반도 남북학계의 고구려연구(1)

        Korea was Confronted with crisis in the wake of open door policy in the last stage of 19th century. In these circumstances, many Koreans staged various movements in fields of politics, economics, Social and cultural parts. We called it as enlightenment drives. The enlightenment movement demanded the reform history education. Therefor the government Publised the history textbook, and the traditional history was changed its character as new history. In the wake of modern history’s development, korean history including Shin, Chae-Ho began to Study the ancient history. In their Studies we wold find lost past specially old chosun and Koguryo Jong, In-Bo was noted Patriotic and nationalism-minded historian. He looked for the Korean spirit as Shin, Chae-Ho and studied the Wang-Ge-To monument. These nationalist historians denied Japanese Flum keyism, they finded our spirit and identity. Ahm, Jae-Hong, noted nationalist historian Claimed the Korean Studies. Leading positivism-minded historian including Lee, Byong-Do, kim, Sang-Ki and Lee, Sang-Baek established the Jin-Dan Society in 1934. This is the starting point to modern history. On the Other hand, a group of materialists including Paik, Nanm-Hoon, Kim, Seok-Hyong, Park, Si-Hyong and Jon, Seok-Dam introduced the marxim in Korea. After 1945, they played an important roles in North Korea.

        『吳淸卿獻策論』을 통해 본 淸政府의 對朝鮮 干涉政策

        I found Ochonggyoung-Honchakron(吳淸卿獻策論, Wuqingqing-Xiancelun) in Changso-gak(藏書閣) of the Academy of Korean Studies, and also carried on the earliest study on it. I got three conclusions through my study: First, Ochonggyoung-Honchakron is a book suggesting policies to King of Chosen(朝鮮), Kojong(高宗) by Wu Ta-ch'eng(吳大?), the representative of Qing Government(淸政府) before his returning in February. 2nd 1885. It was suggested individually on the surface by Wu Ta-ch'eng and Xu Chang(續昌) the vice-representative, in fact, it was acted according to the secret instruction by the Qing Government. Secondly, Wu Ta-ch'eng was the official of the famous Purist Party(淸流黨, Qingliu-dang) in the Late Qing(晩淸), he was responsible for dealing the business for Li Hung-Chang(李鴻章) before Kapsin Coup d'? · tat(甲申政變). After Kapsin Coup d'? · tat, he and Xu Chang were ordered to lead Qing military(淸軍) to Korea by the Qing Government. During his stay in Korea, his main duty is to investigate the true story of Kapsin Coup d'? · tat, to negotiate with Korean government, and also to negotiate with Japanese government for peaceful settlement of the problems raising from Kapsin Coup d'? · tat and strengthening Qing's influence in Korea. Thirdly, Ochonggyoung-Honchakron includes 6 policy suggestions all concerned with the domestic affairs like politics, economics and military. Even though there is never more special new things in it, it shows the intervention policy in Korean domestic affairs by Qing Government. I found six copies of Ochonggyoung-Honchakron in Changso-gak of Academy of Korean Studies and other libraries(奎章閣&國立中央圖書館), but which have not been made public and studied yet. I think it can be considered as an important historical materials for studying the Korean modern history and the modern relationship between Korea and China.

        근대이래 중한(中韓)양국의 상호인식 -황염배(黃炎培)의 『조선(朝鮮)』과 이시영(李始榮)의 『감시만어(感時漫語)』를 중심으로

        Korea(朝鮮) was published by Huang Yan-pei(黃炎培) in September, 1929 who is a famous educator and politician. The works is the most detailed and all-sided one in introducing the basic condition of Korea, but its record and comment was untrue and distored for Korea which was dominated by Japan, because it depended on the help of Japanese colonization government. Accordingly, Lee Si-young(李始榮) who was a leading member of Korea temporary government and struggling against Japan in China wrote a works, Gam-si-man-euh(感時漫語) which criticized and retorted Huang Yan-pei`s false recognition and record for history, culture and actuality of Korea. It was related to positive recognition and understanding between two nations and peoples of China and Korea in modern time, and had bad affection for modern historical relationship between two nations.

        Rainfall-induced Landslide Hazard Analysis Based on GIS in Yanbian Region, China

        This paper mainly studies landslide hazard in Yanbian region,8 landslide factors of soil moisture content, hydrogeology, land use type, slope, slope aspect, fault, river and rainfall are analyzed in the area of Yanbian region. Using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP), the relative weights of 8 landslide factors were obtained, and the internal weights of each factor were determined by the data; the rainfall factors were then divided into three categories such as average annual rainfall, average flood season rainfall, and the maximum average rainfall. And the comparison of the rainfall factors was made. Finally based on the results of these weights to the remote sensing technology(RS) and geographic information system(GIS) technology combined to evaluate its area, we are mapping the risk assessment area for landslide hazard in Yanbian region. According to the map analysis, figure in the dangerous hierarchies result in accordance with the historical landslides is better. At the same time. landslides and hazard area of statistical data analysis showed that the AHP method combined with GIS technology is suitable for promoting the Yanbian regional landslide hazard assessment.

        Molecular Cloning of Maltooligosyltrehalose Trehalohydrolase Gene from Nostoc flagelliforme and Trehalose-Related Response to Stresses

        A genomic DNA fragment encoding a putative maltooligosyltrehalose trehalohydrolase (NfMTH) for trehalose biosynthesis was cloned by the degenerate primer-PCR from cyanobacterium Nostoc flagelliforme. The ORF of NfMTH is 1,848 bp in length and encodes 615 amino acid residues, constituting a 70 kDa protein. The deduced amino acid sequence of NfMTH contains 4 regions highly conserved for MTHs. By expression of NfMTH in E. coli, the function of this protein was demonstrated, where the recombinant protein catalyzed the hydrolysis of maltooligosyl trehalose to trehalose. The expressions of MTH and maltooligosyltrehalose synthase in the filaments of N. flagelliforme were upregulated significantly under dehydration stress, NaCl stress, and high temperature-drought stress. The accumulations of both trehalose and sucrose in the filaments of N. flagelliforme were also improved significantly under the above stresses. Furthermore, trehalose accumulated in smaller quantities than sucrose did when under NaCl stress, but accumulated in higher quantities than sucrose did when under temperature-drought stress, indicating that both trehalose and sucrose were involved in N. flagelliforme adapted to stresses and different strategies conducted in response to various stress conditions.

        [$Ca^{2+}-induced$ $Ca^{2+}$ Release from Sarcoplasmic Reticulum Negatively Regulates Myocytic ANP Release in Beating Rabbit Atria

        It is not clear whether $Ca^{2+}-induced$ $Ca^{2+}$ release from the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) is involved in the regulation of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) release. Previously, we have shown that nifedipine increased ANP release, indicating that $Ca^{2+}$ entry via voltage-gated L-type $Ca^{2+}$ channel activation decreases ANP release. The purpose of the present study was two-fold: to define the role of SR $Ca^{2+}$ release in the regulation of ANP release and whether $Ca^{2+}$ entry via L-type $Ca^{2+}$ channel is prerequisite for the SR-related effect on ANP release. Experiments were performed in perfused beating rabbit atria. Ryanodine, an inhibitor of SR $Ca^{2+}$ release, increased atrial myocytic ANP release ($8.69{\pm}3.05$, $19.55{\pm}1.09$, $27.31{\pm}3.51$, and $18.91{\pm}4.76$% for 1, 2, 3, and $6{\mu}M$ ryanodine, respectively; all P<0.01) with concomitant decrease in atrial stroke volume and pulse pressure in a dose-dependent manner. In the presence of thapsigargin, an inhibitor of SR $Ca^{2+}$ pump, ryanodine-induced increase in ANP release was not observed. Thapsigargin attenuated ryanodine-induced decrease in atrial dynamic changes. Blockade of L-type $Ca^{2+}$ channel with nifedipine abolished ryanodine-induced increase in ANP release ($0.69{\pm}5.58$% vs. $27.31{\pm}3.51$%; P<0.001). In the presence of thapsigargin and ryanodine, nifedipine increased ANP release and decreased atrial dynamics. These data suggest that $Ca^{2+}$-induced $Ca^{2+}$ release from the SR is inversely involved in the regulation of atrial myocytic ANP release.
