        위의 여러 분석들은 미술의 내용-미술이란 어떤 것이었나-에 관해 미술가의 견해를 독자들의 편의를 위해 여러 제목 아래 취급했다. 종합해 해 보면 그런 제목들은 미술가의 여러 다른 범주안에서 환경에 대한 그의 반응을 이해할 만한 관점을 제시해 주었고 그러한 범주들은 서로가 아주 다른 구획은 아니다. 왜냐하면 어느 주어진 작가의 어떤 독특한 작품이라도 여러 공통된 일면이 있기 때문이다. 이 글의 목적은 어떻게 작가의 이 글내용이나 의미에 대한 관심이 가끔 그의 행동을 깨우쳐 줄수 있는지를 증명하는 것이고 또한 어느 정도는 그의 작품 속의 마지막 역점을 결정시키는 것이다. 작가의 감정과 Idea의 원천을 종합해 보면 1) 자연에 대한 관심(His interests in nature) 2) 그가 제작기술에 사용하는 도구(the tools of craft) 3) 환경 속에 있는 인공의 소재(The man-made object in his environment) 4) 그에게 유용한 역사 속에서의 다른 미술가들로 부터오는 유산의 재조사(A review of the heritage for him) 등이다. 또 다른 근원들은 5) 그들이 만든 사회적 질서 속에서 그들 동료들 간의 상호작용에서 그가 얻는 것. 6) 그가 자신을 보았을 때 발견되는 자원 혹은 미지의 것에 대한 그의 vision의 연장 등이 있다. 이런 source들로 부터 그는 영감(inspiration)을 끌어내고 환경에 대한 그의 반응의 재현인 가시적 진술을 하게 된다.

        Impact of viewing conditions on the performance assessment of different computer monitors used for dental diagnostics

        Purpose: This study aimed to assess the computer monitors used for analysis and interpretation of digital radiographs within the clinics of the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia. Materials and Methods: In total, 135 computer monitors(3 brands, 6 models) were assessed by analysing the same radiographic image of a combined 13-step aluminium step wedge and the Artinis CDDent 1.0<sup>®</sup> (Artinis Medical Systems B.V.<sup>®</sup>, Elst, the Netherlands) test object. The number of steps and cylindrical objects observed on each monitor was recorded along with the monitor's make, model, position relative to the researcher's eye level, and proximity to the nearest window. The number of window panels blocked by blinds, the outside weather conditions, and the number of ceiling lights over the surgical suite/cubicle were also recorded. MedCalc<sup>®</sup> version 19.2.1 (MedCalc Software Ltd<sup>®</sup>, Ostend, Belgium, https://www.medcalc.org; 2020) was used for statistical analyses(Kruskal-Wallis test and stepwise regression analysis). The level of significance was set at P<0.05. Results: Stepwise regression analysis showed that only the monitor brand and proximity of the monitor to a window had a significant impact on the monitor's performance (P<0.05). The Kruskal-Wallis test showed significant differences (P<0.05) in monitor performance for all variables investigated, except for the weather and the clinic in which the monitors were placed. Conclusion: The vast performance variation present between computer monitors implies the need for a review of monitor selection, calibration, and viewing conditions.

      • CREATING A BIOFUEL WITH BOKASHI

        The purpose of the experiment was to investigate whether ethanol could be produced in a sustainable way to validate its use as an alternative fuel. This was tested by fermenting onions, apples, potato and cheese over a period of two weeks using Bokashi. The ethanol produced by the food was then collected and measured to determine which food yielded the most alcohol. To further test whether the food was a sustainable option, worms were added to the waste after the two weeks of fermenting. The purpose of this was to see whether they could survive in and condition the waste products into compost capable of growing crops. The results of the experiments suggest that onion was the most efficient at producing ethanol, followed by apple, potato and, finally, cheese, which did not ferment. All three fermentable foods that were tested managed to sustain worms for the entirety of the experiment, indicating that the food scraps remaining after fermentation could further be used as a compost to grow crops in. Furthermore, this could be done at a community level to increase the health of nearby farmlands and gardens, and to offer economic benefits for the production of ethanol.

        The Impact of Play Practice on Chinese Physical Education Pre-Service Teachers Badminton Content Knowledge

        [OBJECTIVES] This study examined the development of Chinese pre-service physical education teachers’ technical skill, tactical understanding, game performance (common content knowledge - CCK), and specialized content knowledge (SCK) during a badminton course incorporating Play Practice instruction. [METHODS] Participants were 36 pre-service teachers (31 males, 5 females: age 21 ± 1.0) majoring in physical education at a university in central China. The students completed a 24 lesson course after a 16 weeks semester. A typical lesson (90 minutes) included a 10-minute warm-up, followed by instruction in two or three technical skills or tactics for 50-55 minutes. The final 25-minutes included the Play Practice aspect of the lesson - a specific game-based challenge to reinforce a technical or tactical aspect of badminton play. The challenge included the three typical pedagogies of Play Practice: focusing, shaping, and enhancing. The French clear test, tactical understanding in badminton, Game Performance Assessment Instrument (GPAI), and student-generated content maps were used to respectively monitor changes in technical skills, tactical understanding, game performance, and specialized content knowledge before and after the course. Parametric statistics were used to compare student outcomes. [RESULTS] Statistically significant differences were found on all measures from pre- to post-test, with all showing large effect sizes. In particular, over 75% of students achieved the benchmark depth of SCK following the course. [CONCLUSIONS] The inclusion of Play Practice within a sport instruction course can contribute to various elements that are needed to promote the CCK and SCK of pre-service physical education students.

        De novo assembly and phasing of a Korean human genome

        <P>Advances in genome assembly and phasing provide an opportunity to investigate the diploid architecture of the human genome and reveal the full range of structural variation across population groups. Here we report the de novo assembly and haplotype phasing of the Korean individual AK1 (ref. 1) using single-molecule real-time sequencing(2), next-generation mapping(3), microfluidics-based linked reads(4), and bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) sequencing approaches. Single-molecule sequencing coupled with next-generation mapping generated a highly contiguous assembly, with a contig N50 size of 17.9 Mb and a scaffold N50 size of 44.8 Mb, resolving 8 chromosomal arms into single scaffolds. The de novo assembly, along with local assemblies and spanning long reads, closes 105 and extends into 72 out of 190 euchromatic gaps in the reference genome, adding 1.03 Mb of previously intractable sequence. High concordance between the assembly and paired-end sequences from 62,758 BAC clones provides strong support for the robustness of the assembly. We identify 18,210 structural variants by direct comparison of the assembly with the human reference, identifying thousands of breakpoints that, to our knowledge, have not been reported before. Many of the insertions are reflected in the transcriptome and are shared across the Asian population. We performed haplotype phasing of the assembly with short reads, long reads and linked reads from whole-genome sequencing and with short reads from 31,719 BAC clones, thereby achieving phased blocks with an N50 size of 11.6 Mb. Haplotigs assembled from single-molecule real-time reads assigned to haplotypes on phased blocks covered 89% of genes. The haplotigs accurately characterized the hypervariable major histocompatability complex region as well as demonstrating allele configuration in clinically relevant genes such as CYP2D6. This work presents the most contiguous diploid human genome assembly so far, with extensive investigation of unreported and Asian-specific structural variants, and high-quality haplotyping of clinically relevant alleles for precision medicine.</P>

        Synthesis and antiproliferative activity evaluation of imidazole-based indeno[1,2-b]quinoline-9,11-dione derivatives

        A series of new imidazole substituted indeno[1,2-b]quinoline-9,11-dione derivatives were synthesizedand evaluated for their antiproliferative effects on HeLa,LS180, MCF-7 and Jurkat human cancer cell lines. Antiproliferativeeffects were evaluated using MTT assay. Prepared compounds exhibited weak to good antiproliferativeactivity in evaluated cell lines. Prepared compoundswere more potent in Jurkat cell line when compared toLS180, HeLa and MCF-7 cell lines. Compounds 29(IC16 = 0.7 lM) and 31 (IC16 = 1.7 lM) and 33 (IC16 =1.7 lM) were found to be the most potent molecules onJurkat cell lines. Moreover; it was found that some of thetested compounds bearing imidazole-2-yl moiety on theC11-position of dihydropyridine ring exhibited superiorantiproliferative activity in comparison to cis-platin especiallyin Jurkat cell line (compounds 29, 31, and 33). Itseemed that the introduction of electron-withdrawinggroups on the imidazole ring enhanced the antiproliferativepotential of these compounds (compounds 27, 29 and 31). The results of this study proposed that some of the imidazolesubstituted indeno[1,2-b]quinoline-9,11-dione compoundsmay act as efficient anticancer agents in vitro,emphasizing their potential role as a source for rationaldesign of potent antiproliferative agents.

        Effect of Vestibular Rehabilitation on Sleep Quality and Depression in the Elderly With Chronic Dizziness: A Prospective Study

        Background and Objectives: Dizziness and the accompanying complaints, including sleep disorders and depression, are common among the elderly. This study investigated the effect of vestibular rehabilitation on complaints of dizziness, sleep problems, and the severity of depression in older people with chronic dizziness.Subjects and Methods: The study included 25 participants with chronic dizziness accompanied by comorbid sleep disturbance (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index [PSQI] global score >5). Participants completed the Dizziness Handicap Inventory (three sub-scales: physical, emotional, and functional), the PSQI, and the Persian version of the shortened Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-13) before and after the vestibular rehabilitation.Results: The findings showed that the handicap caused by dizziness, the severity of depression, and the quality of sleep in the study participants improved significantly after the intervention (<i>p</i><0.05).Conclusions: Vestibular rehabilitation is an effective intervention to reduce dizziness handicap, comorbid sleep disturbance, and depression.
