In this study, mathematical programming was applied to solve for optimal water allocation in the south-western part of Korea, where water supply and demand are unbalanced. The water allocation system was developed to meet water balance in the region through water transfer between the Keum and the Young-San Rivers. The result of the study shows that water transfer may satisfy various water demands in the region until the year 2011 without building reservoirs.

The objective of this research is to investigate the electromagnetic interference(EMl) shielding characteristics of aluminium sandwich panel. We fabricated aluminium sandwich panel with core material Ni-Cu fabrics. The measurements of shielding effectiveness(SE) were carried out frequency range 300MHz -1 GHz for commercial purposes such as electric or telecommunication devices. The return loss and loss due to absorption were also measured as a function of frequency in the microwave(300MHz-1GHz) region. It is observed that the SE of the composites is the frequency dependent, increases with the increases in filler loading. The Ni-Cu fabrics core material showed higher SE compared to that of AI. The aluminium sandwich panel was shown to exhibit up to 40dB of SE.The results indicate that the composite having higher filler loading can be used for the purpose of EMI shielding as well as for some microwave applications.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the quality characteristics of potato added functional cream soup. The highest crude protein (p<.01) and crude lipid (p<.001) were for the potato soup with added potato peel (S₃). The highest pH of 5.95 was for the potato soup with added potato peel (S₄). The highest lightness of 69.46(1, value) was for the potato soup with added potato peel (S₃) (p<.01). The redneess(a value) and yellowness(b value) were increased by the adding of potato peel to the potato soup(p<.01). Viscosity was increased by potato content, and was the highest for the potato soup (S₂) (p<.001). The glycoalkaloid content of the potato soup with added potato peel was 175 mg and 2.20 mg, for Si and S4 respectively. In sensory evaluation. the highest sensory scores for flavor and taste (p<.05) of mean 3.55 and 3.45, respectively, were obtained from the potato soup with added potato peel (S₄). The highest overall acceptability of mean 3.00 was for the potato soup with added potato peel (S₃) (p<.01).

The purpose of this study was to investigate the quality characteristics of functional cookies made with potato peels (cortex layer) containing high amounts of glycoalkaloid. Cookies were processed by mixing ratios of 10, 15 and 20% potato peel relatively to flour. The spread ratio of the cookies was increased with increasing potato peel addition. Texture measurement for the cookies on substituting 10% of flour for potato peel showed a decreased hardness, but the cohesiveness and springiness were increased compared to the control and other ratios. The glycoalkaloid contents of the cookies on substituting 10, 15 and 20% of the flour forpotato peel were 6.27, 9.40 and 12.54mg, respectively, which according to the USAD guidelines are safe amounts for the human body, and also enough for making functional cookies. In the sensory evaluations, the cookies with 10% of the flour substituted for potato peel had the highest scores in flavor, taste, appearance and texture.
수막종의 Flow Cytometry 및 Nucleolar Organizer Regions(NORs)에 관한 비교연구

The flow cytometric DNA analysis and the Ag-NORs staining method have been reported to reflect the cellular activities and the proliferative rates of the normal and the neoplastic cells. Currently, these methods have attracted many interests from clinical fields in evaluating the patient regarding on the prognosis and the responsiveness to therapy of human tumors. The author analyzed thirty eight meningiomas(meningothelial 5, transitional 7, fibrous 5, psammomatous 2, atypical 11, hemangiopericytic 6 and hemangoblastic 2 cases) using flow cytometry and Ag-NORs staining in the paraffin embedded tissues. The results are summarized as follows : 1. In flow cytometric study, twenty eight cases were diploid and the remaining 10 cases were aneuploid. The latter included meningothelial 3, atypical 3, hemangiopericytic 2 and hemangioblastic 2 cases. 2. In Ag-NORs study, the mean mumber of Ag-NORs had a significant difference between classical types(1.46±O.21) and atypical meningiomas(1.88±0.36) including hemangiopericytic one(1.74±0.38) (P<0.05). 3. The cytometric S phase, G_(0)/G₁ phase and proliferation index and the mean number of Ag-NORs had a significant difference between classical diploid and atypical diploid meningiomas(P<0.005). 4. There was no significant relationship between cytometric S phase and the mean number of Ag-NORs in classical meningiomas.

왕겨에 200, 400, 600, 800 및 1000 Gy의 저선량의 감마선을 조사하여 항산화능의 변화를 관찰하였다. 총 페놀 화합물의 양은 무처리구의 경우 0.184 mM를 나타내었고, 200 Gy로 감마선을 조사하였을 때는 0.215 mM로 약간 증가함을 보였으나 이후 차츰 감소하였다. 전자 공여능은 무처리구에 비해 처리구의 경우 조사 선량별로 조금씩의 차이만 있을 뿐, 조사 선량에 대한 왕겨의 전자 공여능은 유의적인 큰 변화 없이 비슷한 활성을 보였다. Fe^2+-ions 킬레이팅 활성은 무처리구의 경우 68.25%를 나타내었으며, 200, 400, 600 및 800 Cy 에서는 각각 86.45, 85.61, 86.65 및 82.84%로서 무처리구보다는 증가함을 보였으나, 1000 Gy에서는 74.67%로 감소하였다. 지질 과산화 억제능은 무처리구에 비해 처리구는 약간의 증가를 보였으나 효과는 미비하였다. We studied the effect of small-dose of γ-irradiation to rice hull(RH) for its antioxidant ability. The RH was treated with 200, 400, 600, 800, and 1000 Gy of γ-ray at 70 Gy/min. Total phenol amount of unirradiated RH was 0,184 mM, after irradiation at 200 Gy it increased to 0,215 mM, while irradiation above 400 Gy up to 1000 Gy decreased that to unirradiated level. The electron donating ability of RH did not show significant change depend on irradiation. The chelating ability for Fe^2+ of unirradiated RH was 68.25 %, while that of 200, 400, 600 and 800 Gy irradiated RH showed 86.45, 85.61, 86.65 and 82.84 % respectively, but, 1000 Gy was decreased to 74.67 %. According to TBARS analyses, inhibition ability of lipid peroxidation by RH was not affected by γ-irradiation.
