This study analyzed the case where modern stained glass is used as non-religious architecture rather than religious architecture. The specific object of analysis was non-religious architecture, and extracted the interior space where light and opening were expressed as active and main elements. A total of 12 cases were analyzed: seven educational spaces, two office spaces, two cultural spaces, and one public space. Geographically, there are eight in Europe and four in the United States. The space used magazines and internet resources. The purpose of this study is to investigate the shape of light in space through the examination of the shape of the stained glass opening that has the psychological effect of stained glass in the space used for non-religious architecture through case analysis. For this purpose, previous studies examined the psychological effects of phenomenological light characteristics, opening characteristics, and various colors. After that, we will classify the cases according to the space classification used by stained glass. In conclusion, eight of the 12 cases surveyed used only one side as stained glass, and only four used more than two sides. As a characteristic of the opening, it can be seen that the entire window and various windows are utilized in three or more spaces. It was found through the case study that the surveyed space had a lot of educational space.

The measurement of wave height is essential for weather analysis, safe navigation of ships, and ship design. This study proposes a low-cost and direct method for measuring wave height using ocean wave images. The proposed scheme comprises a Wave Detector based on Convolutional Neural Networks that takes two-dimensional ocean images as input, and a PPM Calculator that measures the size of an object in the image. The study explains the configuration and implementation of the Wave Detector and the basic principle of the PPM surface generating method for the PPM Calculator, with support from ground experiments. The proposed scheme is validated using two types of wave height measurement sensors and three types of real ocean images for theWave Detector, as well as two rounds of ground experiments for the PPM Calculator. The results show that the wave height values measured by the proposed scheme are highly consistent with the values from the measurement sensors.

<P>Notch has a broad range of regulatory functions in many developmental processes, including hematopoiesis, neurogenesis, and angiogenesis. Notch has several key functional regions such as the RBP-Jκ/CBF1 association module (RAM) domain, nuclear localization signals (NLS), and ankyrin (ANK) repeats. However, previous reports assessing the level of importance of these domains in the Notch signaling pathway are controversial. In this study, we have assessed the level of contribution of each Notch domain to the regulation of mammalian neural stem cells in vivo as well as in vitro. Reporter assays and real-time polymerase chain reactions show that the ANK repeats and RAM domain are indispensable to the transactivation of Notch target genes, whereas a nuclear export signal (NES)-fused Notch intracellular domain (NICD) mutant defective in nuclear localization exerts a level of activity comparable to unmodified NICD. Transactivational ability appears to be tightly coupled to Notch functions during brain development. Unlike ANK repeats and RAM domain deletion mutants, NES-NICD recapitulates NICD features such as promotion of astrogenesis at the expense of neurogenesis in vitro and enhancement of neural stem cell character in vivo. Our data support the previous observation that intranuclear localization is not essential to the oncogenesis of Notch1 in certain types of cells and imply the importance of the noncanonical Notch signaling pathway in the regulation of mammalian neural stem cells.</P>
