Large-grain-size and void-free CH3NH3PbI3 films with bilayer structure are fabricated by spin-coating a PbI2 layer onto a mesoporous TiO2 layer and sequentially spraying CH3NH3I (methylammonium iodide, MAI) multilayers. The sprayer is controlled by a homemade three-axis computer numerical control machine; thus, the substrates are coated by successive parallel passes achieved by moving the nozzle. Spray deposition at the optimal spray rate and substrate temperature produces a large-grain-size and void-free methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI3) bilayer structure. The mesoporous TiO2 layer plays an important role in electron transport by preventing the return of electrons to the perovskite layer and decreasing the contact resistance at the perovskite/ compact TiO2/fluorine tin oxide interface. When the films are incorporated into a solar cell device with a conductive carbon counter electrode, a maximum power conversion efficiency of 10.58% is realised.

Conventionally, furfural from xylose has been produced via the utilization of highly corrosive and environmentally toxic mineral acids such as sulfuric acid or chloric acid. From the standpoint of ecofriendly and benign approach, a microwave- assisted biphasic process for the dehydration of xylose into furfural in the presence of novel carbon-based chlorosulfonated catalyst was investigated. In this study, xylose as starting material was placed into a microwave reactor under biphasic condition consisting of H2O: MIBK (1:2). The results show that xylose was completely converted and over 70% yield of furfural was achieved within 5 hours at 180℃. This greener protocol provides highly selective conversion of biomass to furfural as well as facile isolation of product from the reaction mixture.

High voltage cathode materials LiNi x Mn 2−x O 4 (x = 0.4; 0.5) have been attracting greater attention in developing high energydensity Li-ion battery technology for electrical vehicles and large-scale applications. The main challenge of high voltagecathodes is severe electrolyte decomposition leading to short cell cycle life. In addition, LiNi 0.4 Mn 1.6 O 4 cathode materialprocessed with polyvinylidene fl uoride (PVdF) binder generally suff ers an oxidation decomposition as well as cathodedelamination from current collectors during cycling. Herein, we suggest using sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC),lithium polyacrylic acid (LiPAA) as water-soluble binders for replacing conventional PVdF in cathode processing to demonstratethe eff ectiveness on long-cycling of half-cell Li || LiNi 0.4 Mn 1.6 O 4 , full-cell SiO 2 -graphite || LiNi 0.4 Mn 1.6 O 4 and SiO 2|| LiNi 0.4 Mn 1.6 O 4 . In half-cell, the cells with water-soluble binders-based cathode exhibited a higher discharge capacity thanthe one using PVdF binder (CMC—126.0 mAh/g; LiPAA—125.7 mAh/g; PVdF—117 mAh/g at C/5, respectively). CMCand LiPAA also improve retention capacity up to 90% after 500 cycles at C/3. Interestingly, LiPAA based electrode exhibitsan excellent rate-capability with discharge capacity of 80 mAh/g at 8C. The stability of electrodes was also investigated byelectrode chemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and Scanning electron microscope (SEM). In full-cell, CMC and LiPAAbased cells showed eff ectiveness in decreasing transition metal dissolution and preventing the cathode degradation duringlong-cycling through its excellent capacity retention in 200 cycles at C/3.

5-Hydroxymethyl-2-furfural (HMF) is the most well-known biomass-derived platform chemical, which has the possibility to replace BTX-based aromatic compounds produced from petroleum. 5-Chloromethyl-2-furfural (CMF) has been proved to be more efficient as material for later applications. In this study, the sythesis of 5-acetoxymethyl-2-furfural (AMF) from CMF and HMF using polymer resin supported alkylammonium acetates. HMF is formed by dehydration, which have used by continuous reactor from fructose, amberlyst-15, DMSO, 1,4-dioxane. CMF is produced by biphasic continuous reactor, which have formed easily from fructose, hydrochloric acid and dichloromethane or dichloroethane. The yield of AMF reached up to 60%.

We investigated the efficacy of lenalidomide (LEN) in combination with dendritic cell (DC) vaccination in the MOPC-315 murine myeloma model. After tumor growth, LEN was injected intraperitoneally for 4 consecutive days in combination with DC vaccination. The combination of LEN and vaccination efficiently inhibited tumor growth compared with the single agents alone. A cytotoxic assay revealed that the anticancer effects of DC vaccination plus LEN involved not only generation of antigen-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes but also NK cells. Vaccinated mice had reduced numbers of suppressor cells, including both myeloid-derived suppressor cells and regulatory T cells, in the spleen. The proportions of CD4 and CD8 T cells increased in the spleen, and a Th1 cytokine (interferon-&ggr;) rather than a Th2 cytokine (interleukin-10) was synthesized in response to tumor antigens. LEN enhanced the innate immune response by modulating NK cell numbers and function. In addition, LEN reduced the production levels of angiogenesis-inducing factors in tumor-bearing mice. Together, these results suggest that a combination of LEN and DC vaccination may synergistically enhance anticancer immunity in the murine myeloma model, by inhibiting immunosuppressor cells and stimulating effector cells, as well as effectively polarizing the Th1/Th2 balance in favor of a Th1-specific immune response.

5-Hydroxymethyl-2-furfural (HMF) and its derivatives are among the promising biomass-derived platform chemicals, which have the potential to become carbon-neutral feedstock or building blocks in a green, renewable and sustainable industry. However, the current methods for HMF production from D-Fructose have several drawbacks such as the use high boiling solvents and difficulties in product purification. Comparing to HMF, 5-acetoxylmethyl-2-fufural (AMF) is considered to be more thermal stable and rather easier to isolate. In this research, rather than transforming D-Fructose into HMF in aprotic polar solvents such as DMSO, we are trying to synthesize AMF by direct dehydration of 1,6-Diacetyl-fructofuranose (DAF), a di-ester derivation of D-Fructose. This approach has the advantage of avoiding the difficulties related to HMF purification since AMF can be isolated from the reaction mixture by recrystallization or vacuum distillation.
China-ASEAN Trade Relations: A Study of Determinants and Potentials

The purpose of this study is to investigate the development and determinants of China-ASEAN trade relations over the period of 2000-2018. Employing both the qualitative and quantitative approaches, the results show that the trade relations between China and the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) have remarkably developed and rapidly grown over times, with a significantly important concentration on the segments of high technological and medium technological products. We also find that China's economic scale is crucially impacting on the China-ASEAN trade relations under both the aggregate and sub-sector level. It is interesting to notice that there is no evidence to support accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and officially forming of ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA) to enhance trade relation between both sides. The findings also quantitatively indicate that there is much significant potential for the expansion of mutual trade between China and some members of ASEAN such as Brunei, Laos and Malaysia, while less potential is predicted for other members of ASEAN. It is strongly suggested that China and ASEAN should find a new proactive approach and make more efforts in improving the mutual political trusts to enhance trading activities in the coming years.
A New Dimeric Lignan from the Stems of Willughbeia edulis

As part of our continued study on the chemical constituents of Willughbeia edulis stems, a new dimeric lignan named edulignan (1) was isolated from its EtOAc-soluble extract. Based on NMR spectroscopic interpretation, the planar structure of 1 has been suggested to have two 2-substituted 4-chromanone subunits with different stereochemical configurations. In addition, the MS/MS analysis of the products obtained by acid-catalyzed hydrolysis of 1 was supportive of its structure. Unfornatually, the new compound 1 did not show 𝛼-glucosidase inhibitory activity with an IC<sub>50</sub> value > 250 𝜇M.
