The morphology change of silver nano-structures has been investigated by changing reagent concentrations, the speed of a magnetic bar, reaction temperature, and reaction time in the polyol process which were carried out in ethylene glycol solutions containing AgNO3 as a metal source and PVP (polyvinylpyrolidone) as a capping agent. Under optimized reactions, silver nanowires or nanocubes were obtained as a major product, and their morphology and composition were identified by FE-SEM and EDX analyses, respectively.

Using optically-active 2,2'-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl (BINAP) as a P-donor, heteroleptic Pt(Ⅱ) compounds (R)-/(S)-(BINAP)Pt(TFBT)2 (H(TFBT) = 2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzenethiol) are prepared from (R)-/(S)-(BINAP) and (COD)PtCl2 via (R)-/(S)-(BINAP)PtCl2. These Pt(Ⅱ) compounds are characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopic analyses. It is noted that the arylmonothiolate ligand (TFBT) is labile in solution due to the lack of chelate effect.

This research compares four topologies of a three-phase square-wave voltage source inverte as a power flow controller installed in a simple two power transmssion system. The inverter has a DC capacitor as an internal voltage source switching devices counnected to the power transmission system is analyzed as a power flow controller. Its ratings for the application is calculated over a range of compensation ratio and over a range of the phase angle difference between the buses. The calculated ratings are expressed in per unit values. Actual rating values of each topology can be easily achieved by a simple change in scale. The results in this paper will help to select an optimum one among four topolgies at any operating point of the power transmission system and determine their feasibility as a power flow controller in costs.

Korean War justified the North and the South killing each other, considering the other as enemy due to the conflicting national ideologies. On account of its cruelty, Korean War resulted in dividing the family, and caused serious torments and poverty to Korean people, forcing them to face the limit situation of living. Korean War stories descried this national tragedy plainly and bluntly. This study selected nine stories which depicts family disorganization in particular among various themes, and investigated the meaning of familism revealed in those stories. The aspects of family disorganization in those texts can be summarized as these: the disorganization between husband and wife, between parents and children, and between brothers. The ideologies causing family disorganization in those stories are egoism and nationalism. These ideologies affected the traditional familism considerably, but could not break it up completely. Egoism, which is different from individualism, dismantles social relations and pursues selfish purposes only. On the other hand, nationalism functions not on the voluntary consensus but on the national enforcement and the agitation. As the result, egoism and nationalism changed the traditional familism based on a hierarchical communication system into a horizontal and equal one. If the result of this study is applied to the study of familism described in the post-Korean War novels, it will contribute to illuminate the relationship among familism, individualism, and nationalism more completely in the modem age of Korea.

This research proposes a design method of the controller to regulate the output voltage of an asymmetric half-bridge(AHB) DC/DC converter, which transfers the energy from a high-voltage DC source to a low-voltage DC load. The steady-state characteristics of the AHB DC/DC converter is analyized using the averaged state equation. The dynamic equation are derived with the linearization and the samll pertubation. The loop gain method is used to design the output voltage regualtor. The performance of the regulator of the AHB DC/DC converter is analytically studied in a computer simulation using PSIM.

In order to understand the operational characteristics of the multi-module. Thyristor Controlled Series Condensor, this paper performs the analysis of the harmonic characteristics the stability calculation and the EMTP simulation of TCSC power transmission system. For the harmonic analysis, the Fourier series representation of the switching action of thyristors of TCSC modules and the bisection algorithm in numerical analysis to find the thyristor using the results of harmonic analysis and the theory of Poincare mapping for the nonlinear discrete periodic dynamic system. The EMTP simulation study performed with detailed power system component models and controller models proves the harmonic analysis and the stability calculation correct.
