        Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the extent of pain with the severity of MRI, needle EMG findings, so as to find out which diagnostic method is more meaningfully represents the extent of pain. Methods: We investigated fifty-three patients who were underwent both MRI and Electrodiagnostic evaluation. MRI findings are classified as four groups which are Disc bulging, protrusion, extrusion or hernia and sequestration. EMG findings are classified as three groups based on the Wilbom's severity classification. Visual analogue scale are described as numbers between 0 to 10 due to extent of pain. We have compared the extent of pain with seventy in MRI and needle EMG findings. Results: Correlations between extent of pain and the seventy in MRI findings shows no meaningful interrelations, while correlations between extent of pain and the severity of needle EMG findings shows meaningful interrelations, Conclusion: Needle EMG might considered as a clinical method to quantify the extent of pain in the patients with radiculopathy who suffers from low back pain and radiating pain to lower extremities.

      • 단백질 종류 및 첨가수준이 In Vitro 발효특성과 반추위 미생물 성장에 미치는 효과

        본 실험은 서로 다른 단백질 원의 첨가 수준이 반추위액의 발효성상 및 미생물 체단백질 합성에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 연속배양 장치에서 일련의 in vitro 실험을 수행하였는 바, 가용성 단백질 중 peptone 또는 casein을 각각 0.5%와 1%씩 첨가할 경우 반추위 미생물에 의 한 발효와 미생물 생산량에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. pH는 배양기간 동안 단백질원과 그 수준에 관계없이 낮아지는 경향이었고 대조구에 비하여 단백질원 첨가구에서 높았다(P<0.01). Ammonia-N의 농도는 단백질원을 첨가한 처리구들이 대조구에 비하여 유의적으로 높았으며 같은 단백질원 첨가구 중 첨가수준이 증가함에 따라 높았다(P<0.0001). 배양액중 total VFA 함량은 단백질원을 첨가한 처리구들의 경우 대조구에 비하여 높았으며, 첨가수준이 증가함에 따라 높게 나타났다(P<0.0001). Acetate의 농도는 배양시간이 경과함에 따라 감소하는 경향이었으나(P<0.05), propionate의 농도는 일정한 수준을 유지하였다(P>0.05). 따라서 C2/C3의 비율도 감소하였는데 peptone 1% 첨가구(2.68)에서 가장 낮았다(P>0.05). 이상의 결과를 종합해보면 단백질 분해로 생성된 암모니아에 비해 반추위 미생물 성장에 필요한 에너지 공급이 충분하지 못함으로서 단백질과 에너지의 동조화를 이루지 못하여 미생물 합성에 부정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 사료된다. In vitro continuous culture study was conducted to investigate the effect of protein source(peptone or casein) and it"s addition level(0.5% and 1%) to the culture solution on fermentation characteristics and rumen microbial growth. Ruminal pH was decreased with protein source. the control was lowest in pH among the treatments(P<0.0006). Ammonia concentration was higher in protein added treatments than in control, and its concentration was higher(P<.0001) for 1% added treatment than 0.5% added treatment. Control was lowest in total volatile fatty acid concentration in the culture solution rumen among treatments, and 1% addition was higher than 0.5% addition(P<.0001). Acetate(C2) proportion was decreased in all treatments as incubation time passed, and peptone addition at 1% level was lowest(P<0.05) among treatments. The C2/propionate ratio was decreased in all treatments as incubation time passed. There were no significant differences in ruminal microbial protein synthesis among protein sources and among addition levels. Results from this experiment indicate that protein source and its addition level did not significantly improve ruminal fermentation and microbial protein synthesis.

        Microbial Ecology and Diversity : Impact of Diet in Shaping Gut Microbiota Revealed by a Comparative Study in Infants During the First Six Months of Life

        The development of the gut is controlled and modulated by different interacting mechanisms, such as genetic endowment, intrinsic biological regulatory functions, environment influences and last but no least, the diet influence. In this work, we compared the fecal microbiota of breast-fed (BF), formula-fed (FF), and mixed-fed (MF) infants from Hebei Province, China. By using high-throughput 16S rDNA sequencing analyses, we found some differences in gut microbiota in the three groups. Firmicutes and Proteobacteria were the dominant bacteria at the phylum level in the three groups, where FF infants showed a significant depletion in Bacteroidetes (p < 0.001) and Actinobacteria (p < 0.05). Enterobacteriaceae was the dominant bacteria at the family level in the three groups, but FF infants showed higher Enterobacteriaceae enrichment than BF and MF infants (p < 0.05); the abundance of the Bifidobacteriaceae was only 8.16% in the feces of BF infants, but higher than in MF and FF infants (p < 0.05). The number of genera detected (abundance >0.01%) in BF, MF, and FF infants was only 15, 16, and 13, respectively. This study could provide more accurate and scientific data for the future study of infant intestinal flora.

        건축도시박물관의 기능영역별 프로그램 및 공간구성 분석에 관한 연구

        (Background and Purpose) This research is worth studying on providing direction to build Museum of architecture and urbanism through study about analyzing the programs and space composition of Museum of architecture and urbanism where effectively collects, exhibits, and stores displays, model, and images showing the transition process of architecture and city and data and information generated in the creative process of architects. All countries of the world have been collecting and managing the data with the purpose of strengthening the cultural grounds of their own architecture and city filed and operating and utilizing the museum highlighted with the exhibits and education programs as a base for the conservation and spread of their own architectural culture. So, establishment and operation of a core organization to improve the national culture level, and accumulate and manage competitiveness on the basis of Korea’s potential energy in architecture are new periodic subjects. (Method) This study is scheduled to proceed analyzing through the investigation of yearbook and literature, web research, and etc. with looking at the situation of domestic museum of architecture and urbanism and its similar facilities through the preceding paper and limiting the data to be appropriate cases for the size and facilities of the related facilities. Also, it also intended to set standards for the practical planning and design in architecture, and present the basic data through the average data, by drawing statistics for space requirements, area, etc. per each facility and calculating the percentage by understanding the program in the Museum of Architecture and Urbanism and analyzing the space composition on the basis of information obtained after investigating and analyzing the Museum of Architecture and Urbanism in foreign countries and its relevant facilities. (Results) First, it possesses the architectural city museum, which operates as an effective life-long education institution that balances the national cultural industry, accumulates and manages competitiveness based on the architectural strength of Korea, and thereby improves the culture level of the people in the fields of architecture and urbanism. The core organization should be established and operated. Second, in the space composition of the architectural city museum, it is necessary to create an education or research program suitable for various types of users, not only displaying exhibitions by themes in architecture and city, but also by the restoration program. There is a need for an architectural city museum that needs a role to perform. (Conclusions) The purpose of this study was to find out the current situation in Korea, to outline current problems, and to make a rational proposal on the program and spatial composition by looking at the program and space composition of the Museum of Architecture and Urbanism and its related facilities. We will make use of this study to present a program for effective and rational spatial manipulation through reconstruction of these spatial configurations when planning a new installation.

        Purification and Biochemical Characterization of a Novel Fibrinolytic Enzyme from Streptomyces sp. P3

        A novel proteolytic enzyme with fibrinolytic activity, FSP3, was purified from the recently isolated Streptomyces sp. P3, which is a novel bacterial strain isolated from soil. FSP3 was purified to electrophoretic homogeneity by ammonium sulfate precipitation, anion exchange, and gel filtration. FSP3 is considered to be a single peptide chain with a molecular mass of 44 kDa. The maximum activity of the enzyme was observed at 50°C and pH 6.5, and the enzyme was stable between pH 6 and 8 and below 40°C. In a fibrin plate assay, FSP3 showed more potent fibrinolytic activity than urokinase, which is a clinical thrombolytic agent acting as a plasminogen activitor. The activity was strongly inhibited by the serine protease inhibitor PMSF, indicating that it is a serine protease. Additionally, metal ions showed different effects on the activity. It was significantly suppressed by Mg2+ and Ca2+ and completely inhibited by Cu2+, but slightly enhanced by Fe2+. According to LC-MS/MS results, its partial amino acid sequences are significantly dissimilar from those of previously reported fibrinolytic enzymes. The sequence of a DNA fragment encoding FSP3 contained an open reading frame of 1287 base pairs encoding 428 amino acids. FSP3 is a bifunctional enzyme in nature. It hydrolyzes the fibrin directly and activates plasminogen, which may reduce the occurrence of side effects. These results suggest that FSP3 is a novel serine protease with potential applications in thrombolytic therapy.

        Microwave dielectric properties of BaV2O6 ceramics with ultra-low sintering temperature

        Microwave dielectric properties of BaV2O6 ceramics were investigated for the first time. The BaV2O6 ceramic was preparedby the solid-state ceramic route. The phase constitution, microstructure, and compatibility with aluminum electrode wereinvestigated using XRD, Raman spectra and SEM. The results confirmed that that pure phase BaV2O6 could be obtained inthe sintering temperature range of 525 oC-600 oC. With an increase in the sintering temperature, the dielectric constant (εr)and quality factor (Qxf) first increase and decrease thereafter, the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τf) changesslightly. The BaV2O6 ceramic sintered at 575 oC/4 hr exhibited good microwave dielectric properties of εr = 11.5, τf = 38 ppm/ oC and Qxf = 21 800 GHz (at 10.1 GHz). Moreover, the material had a chemical compatibility with aluminum powders, whichrepresented a promising candidate material for ULTCC applications.

        Synthesis, Structure and Biological Properties of a Novel Copper (II) Supramolecular Compound Based on 1,2,4-Triazoles Derivatives

        A novel mononuclear supramolecule of copper(II) has been synthesized with Ippyt ligand (Ippyt=3-(4'- imidazole phenyl)-5-(pyrid-2''-yl)-1,2,4-triazole) (1). Compound 1, namely [Cu(Ippyt)2(H2O)2], has been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectrum, elemental analysis and thermogravimetric analysis. Structure determination reveals that the elongated-octahedral geometry is formed in the vicinity of the copper (II) atom being coordinated by four nitrogen atoms from two Ippyt ligands occupying the equatorial position and two oxygen atoms from two coordinated water molecules in the axial position, which together form the N4O2 donor set. Hydrogen bonding interactions between nitrogen and oxygen atoms result in the set up of a supramolecular network architecture. Biological properties including antibacterial activity and superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic activity of compound 1 have been investigated by agar diffusion method and the modified Marklund method, respectively. The results indicate that compound 1 exhibits a stronger antibacterial efficiency than the parent ligand and it also has a certain radical-scavenging activity.

        A FACILE SYNTHESIS OF SHAPE- AND SIZE-CONTROLLED α-Fe_2O_3 NANOPARTICLES THROUGH HYDROTHERMAL METHOD

        α-Fe_2O_3 nanoparticles have wide-ranging applications such as in catalysis, sensoring, painting, etc. This is the reason to study their controlled synthesis. Here we have investigated the synthesis of uniform α-Fe_2O_3nanoparticles using amino acids as morphology control agents. The products were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). It was found that the type and the amount of amino acids as well as the reaction temperatures have significant influence on the shape and size of the obtainedα-Fe_2O_3nanoparticles. The use of acidic amino acids (always contain C=O in the side chain) typically leads to the formation of α-Fe_2O_3nanoparticles with spindle shape. However, rhombohedrally shaped α-Fe_2O_3nanoparticles were formed in presence of basic amino acids (always contain -NH_2 in the side chain). Increasing the amount of amino acid generally results in α-Fe_2O_3nanoparticles with decreasing particle sizes.

        ON COLLEGE MATHEMATICS EDUCATION BY COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF COLLEGE ACHIEVEMENTS AND SCORES OF COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

        This paper studies the relationship between the college en- trance examination scores and college mathematics achievements of the freshman, who are the students of college of technology and management in Yanbian University, by employing statistical analysis. First of all, we start from the correlation analysis of the majors and regions of students. Secondly, with gender and region as the classification, we divide the sample into two parts and test the mean significance, and we find that not only dif- ferent gender but also different region have significant differences to college mathematics achievements. Thirdly, we use the college entrance examina- tion scores as independent variable, and college mathematics achievement as the dependent variable to establish regression model. The model pro- vides a realistic basis for the education department of our school, and provides reference value for the other major research.

      • Extended Virtual Force-Based Coverage Scheme for Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks

        Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have gained worldwide attentions in recent years. Since WSNs can be conveniently deployed to monitor a given field of interest, they have been considered as a great long-term economic potential for military, environmental, and scientific applications etc. One of the most active areas of research in WSNs is the coverage which is one of the most essential functions to guarantee quality of service (QoS) in WSNs. In this work, the coverage control problems in heterogeneous WSNs have been analyzed. The Delaunay Triangulation and modified ideal distance coefficient have been employed into traditional virtual force algorithm (which often used in homogeneous WSNs) to improve the QoS of the deployment. In order to validate the performance of the proposed algorithms, numerical simulations for heterogeneous WSNs cases have been considered in this work. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of this proposed algorithm.
