FMS(Flexible Manufacturing System) scheduling problem is a complex system and a NP-hard problem. Thus it is natural to look for heuristic method. Here, we consider the multi-part production scheduling problem in a FMS scheduring of altemative routings. The problem in more complex if the processing time is imprecision. It requires suitable method to deal with imprecision. Fuzzy set theory can be useful in modeling and solving scheduling problems with uncertain processing times. Lee-Ki fuzzy number comparison method will be used to compare processing times that evaluated under fuzziness. This study propose heuristic algorithm solving FMS scheduling problem under fuzzy environment. In this algorithm, the pairwise comparision method is used to find proper alternative routing. On the basis of the proposed method, and example in presented.

Background : Recently, the lung cancer mortality rank first in Korea. The prognosis of lung cancer is not good enough with current treatments and multimodality treatments are required. So we are interested in the characteristics of lung cancer patients for better treatment. Methods : We searched lung cancer patients since 1994. Then we collected the data of primary lung cancer patients about the demographic features, histologic types and diagnotic methods. We divided the total period into 2 haves and specific analysis was tried. Results : 1) Total 850 patients were included. 633 (74.5%) were male and 217 (25.5%) were female. 2) The mean age was 65 ± 11 years old. and the peak age was 7th decades. 3) Squamous cell carcinoma(334/850, 39.3%) was slightly more prevalent than adenocarcinoma(302/850, 35.5%). Conclusion : From these results, we expected that older persons will be diagnosed to have lung cancer and adenocarcinoma will be more dominant histologic type with time.

<P>In this study, the effect of the plasma ashing of the photoresist on a-Si:H thin film transistor (TFT) devices carried out using an atmospheric pressure plasma on the electrical damage to the TFT devices was investigated. By exposing the TFT devices to the plasma with a photoresist ashing rate of about 860 nm/min for up to 120 s, their electrical characteristics were significantly degraded, possibly due to charge trapping in the SiN<I><SUB>x</SUB></I> of the passivation layer and gate insulator and to bond breaking in a-Si:H. The degradation of the field effect mobility, <I>I</I><SUB>off</SUB>, and <I>I</I><SUB>on</SUB>/<I>I</I><SUB>off</SUB> ratio of the devices is believed to be mostly related to the bond breaking in the a-Si:H and charge trapping caused by the UV radiation, while the change in the threshold voltage appears to be mostly related to the surface charging caused by the charged species in the plasma. The damaged TFT devices, however, could be fully repaired by conventional annealing in a furnace at 290°C in N<SUB>2</SUB> for 60 min.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>For the highly productive nanocatalyst synthesis, ensuring the formation and stabilization of active nanoparticles with enlarged surface areas by increasing their metal loading and dispersion have been major issues. Herein, we report a facile method based on a simple melt-infiltration process for creating extremely productive Fe<SUB>5</SUB>C<SUB>2</SUB> nanoparticles (∼14 nm) incorporated into graphene flakes (Fe<SUB>5</SUB>C<SUB>2</SUB>/G) with a stable and high Fe load (∼35 wt%). They showed extremely high C<SUB>5+</SUB> hydrocarbon productivity (4.41 g<SUB>C5+HC</SUB> g<SUB>cat</SUB> <SUP>−1</SUP> h<SUP>−1</SUP>), CO conversion (91.8%), and Fe time yield (6.5 × 10<SUP>−4</SUP> mol<SUB>CO</SUB> g<SUB>Fe</SUB> <SUP>−1</SUP> s<SUP>−1</SUP>) as well as good thermal stability in CO hydrogenation reactions under harsh conditions.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Fe<SUB>5</SUB>C<SUB>2</SUB>/G nanocatalyst (Fe load ∼35 wt%) was made for harsh CO hydrogenation reactions. </LI> <LI> Fe<SUB>5</SUB>C<SUB>2</SUB> nanoparticles were dispersed on graphene flakes using melt-infiltration. </LI> <LI> Fe<SUB>5</SUB>C<SUB>2</SUB>/G showed very high FT activity and CO conversion at high space velocity. </LI> <LI> This highly productive nanocatalyst is a new option for commercial CO hydrogenation reaction. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>Highly active and productive Fe<SUB>5</SUB>C<SUB>2</SUB>/G nanoparticles on graphene flakes, prepared via a melt- infiltration of Fe salts and thermal reduction under CO flow, show excellent catalytic performance with extremely high productivity for valuable hydrocarbons as well as good thermal stability in the harsh CO hydrogenation reactions.</P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

Purpose: To evaluate the treatment outcomes of preoperative versus postoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CRT) on locally advanced rectal cancer. Materials and Methods: Medical data of 114 patients with locally advanced rectal cancer treated with CRT preoperatively (54 patients) or postoperatively (60 patients) from June 2003 to April 2011 was analyzed retrospectively. 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) or a precursor of 5-FU-based concurrent CRT (median, 50.4 Gy) and total mesorectal excision were conducted for all patients. The median follow-up duration was 43 months (range, 16 to 118 months). The primary end point was disease-free survival (DFS). The secondary end points were overall survival (OS), locoregional control, toxicity, and sphincter preservation rate. Results: The 5-year DFS rate was 72.1% and 48.6% for the preoperative and postoperative CRT group, respectively (p = 0.05, the univariate analysis; p = 0.10, the multivariate analysis). The 5-year OS rate was not significantly different between the groups (76.2% vs. 69.0%, p = 0.23). The 5-year locoregional control rate was 85.2% and 84.7% for the preoperative and postoperative CRT groups (p = 0.98). The sphincter preservation rate of low-lying tumor showed significant difference between both groups (58.1% vs. 25.0%, p = 0.02). Pathologic tumor and nodal down-classification occurred after the preoperative CRT (53.7% and 77.8%, both p < 0.001). Acute and chronic toxicities were not significantly different between both groups (p=0.10 and p = 0.62, respectively). Conclusion: The results confirm that preoperative CRT can be advantageous for improving down-classification rate and the sphincter preservation rate of low-lying tumor in rectal cancer.
ORIGINAL : Comparison of Biomechanical Characteristics for the Skill Level in Cycle Pedaling

Objective: This study aimed to compare biomechanical data between elite and beginner cyclists during cycle pedaling by performing a comparative analysis and to provide quantitative data for both pedaling performance enhancement and injury prevention. Methods: The subjects of this study included 5 elite cyclists (age: 18 ± 0 years, body mass: 64.8 ± 9.52 kg, height: 173.0 ± 4.80 cm) and 5 amateur cyclists (age: 20 ± 0 years, mass: 66.6 ± 2.36 kg, height: 175.6 ± 1.95 cm). The subjects pedaled on a stationary bicycle mounted on rollers of the same gear (front: 50 T and rear: 17 T = 2.94) and cadence of 90. The saddle height was adjusted to fit the body of each subject, and all the subjects wore shoes with cleats. In order to obtain kinematic data, 4 cameras (GR-HD1KR, JVC, Japan) were installed and set at 60 frames/sec. An electromyography (EMG) system (Telemyo 2400T, Noraxon, USA) was used to measure muscle activation. Eight sets of data from both the left and right lower extremities were obtained from 4 muscles (vastus medialis oblique [VMO], vastus lateralis oblique [VLO], and semitendinosus [Semitend], and lateral gastrocnemius [Gastro]) bilaterally by using a sampling frequency of 1,500 Hz. Five sets of events (0°, 90°, 180°, 270°, and 360°) and 4 phases (P1, P2, P3, and P4) were set up for the data analysis. Imaging data were analyzed for kinematic factors by using the Kwon3D XP computer software (Visol, Korea). MyoResearch XP Master Edition (Noraxon) was used for filtering and processing EMG signals. Results: The angular velocity at 360° from the feet was higher in the amateur cyclists, but accelerations at 90° and 180° were higher in the elite cyclists. The amateur cyclists had greater joint angles at 270° from the ankle and wider knee joint distance at 0°, 180°, and 360° than the elite cyclists. The EMG measurements showed significant differences between P2 and P4 from both the right VLO and Semitend. Conclusion: This study showed that lower body movements appeared to be different according to the level of cycle pedaling experience. This finding may be used to improve pedaling performance and prevent injuries among cyclists.

<P>Locally advanced thyroid cancer exhibits aggressive clinical features requiring extensive neck dissection. Therefore, it is important to identify changes in the tumor biology before local progression. Here, whole exome sequencing (WES) using tissues from locally advanced papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) presented a large number of single nucleotide variants (SNVs) in the metastatic lymph node (MLN), but not in normal tissues and primary tumors. Among those MLN-specific SNVs, a novel HHIP G516R (G1546A) mutation was also observed. Interestingly, in-depth analysis for exome sequencing data from the primary tumor presented altered nucleotide ‘A’ at a very low frequency indicating intra-tumor heterogeneity between the primary tumor and MLN. Computational prediction models such as PROVEAN and Polyphen suggested that HHIP G516R might affect protein function and stability. In vitro, HHIP G516R increased cell proliferation and promoted cell migration in thyroid cancer cells. HHIP G516R, a missense mutation, could be a representative example for the intra-tumor heterogeneity of locally advanced thyroid cancer, which can be a potential future therapeutic target for this disease.</P>
