The questions on Trinity & Filioque Controversy, Theomathology
Francis Jickhong Yun 한국민중신학회 2016 Madang: Journal of Contextual Theology Vol.0 No.25
I have created a new field of study, which I named, “theomathology” which is a field of Theological Mathematics. The doctrine of Trinity and dispute over Filioque have been continuing on for almost about 2,000 years of history, but still, no one has clearly explained nor proven their essences. Apparently, when we conduct a research on Trinity or Filioque controversy, and if we study something that is off the track from them, it is hard to expect any good result no matter how much time is being invested.
Classifying Correspondence in Japanese and Korean
( Francis Bond ) 경희대학교 언어연구소 2006 언어연구 Vol.23 No.1
In this paper we present an analysis of the ways Japanese and Korean categorize long-distance communication, for example, over the telephone, or through email, fax or letters. In Korean and Japanese, numeral classifiers are used to overtly categorize such communicative acts. Japanese uses more classifiers in this eld than Korean, and so there is more possible variation in classifier use. We use the framework of Pustejovsky`s (1995) Generative Lexicon to make clear the differences between kind and shape classifiers, and explain the variation in classifier use by showing how different classifiers select for different features of lexical entries.
Case Study of the Viability of Smallholder Dairy Farming in Nharira-Lancashire, Zimbabwe
Francis, Joseph,Sibanda, Simba Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2001 Animal Bioscience Vol.14 No.8
There is little information on smallholder dairy farming in Zimbabwe. With such inadequate knowledge, no meaningful decisions on how to improve these systems can be made. A study was, therefore, carried out in Nharira communal area and Lancashire small-scale commercial area to provide information on the viability of dairy farms. This paper is based on data obtained through participatory monitoring of 13 smallholder dairy farms in 1996 and 1997. All the four farms in Lancashire were found to be viable in both years. In Nharira, two out of the nine farms in 1996 and three farms in 1997 failed to break even. There were considerable inter-farm differences in the contribution of milk sales towards total income from dairy farming, ranging from 41% to 99% in Nharira and 71% to 81% in Lancashire in 1996. Corresponding estimates in 1997 were 51-95% and 72-78%, respectively. Expenses on cattle feeds contributed 36-84% in 1996 and 37-80% in 1997 towards total variable costs in Nharira. In Lancashire, the respective estimates were 15-33% and 22-36%. Seven out of the nine studied farms in Nharira and three out of four in Lancashire realized higher gross margin (GM) in 1997 than in 1996. All these farming households had conserved considerable amounts of farm-grown feeds. It was concluded that feed costs, number of cows and sizes of land holdings were the main factors determining viability of smallholder dairy farming. The major challenge to smallholder dairy farming in Nharira, in particular, was to develop low-cost feeding strategies.

How Citizens React to Political Scandals Surrounding Government Leaders: A Survey Study in Hong Kong
Francis L. F. Lee 서울대학교행정대학원 2015 Asian Journal of Political Science Vol.23 No.1
Public opinion research has suggested that the negative impact of scandals on publicevaluation of the politicians involved is not always strong. Part of the reason is that people may hold varying perceptions regarding the nature, factuality, and importance of the scandals. According to the theory of motivated reasoning, people develop varying perceptions by processing information in ways that reconfirm their existing views. Thisstudy applies such insights to analyze how citizens react to political scandals surrounding government leaders in Hong Kong, where such scandals have arguably become increasingly prominent in recent years. This study constructs a theoretical model linking prior political attitudes, scandal-related perceptions, response evaluation, and evaluation of politicians. Analysis of survey data confirms most of the hypotheses in two cases. External efficacy and support for democracy substantially influence perceived factuality and acceptability of the scandals. Such perceptions shape people’s evaluations of the responses by the government and the officials involved, which in turn affect evaluation of the officials.
