Towards Smart Card Based Mutual Authentication Schemes in Cloud Computing

( Haoxing Li ),( Fenghua Li ),( Chenggen Song ),( Yalong Yan ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2015 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.9 No.7

In the cloud environment, users pay more attentions to their data security since all of them are stored in the cloud server. Researchers have proposed many mutual authentication schemes for the access control of the cloud server by using the smart card to protect the sensitive data. However, few of them can resist from the smart card lost problem and provide both of the forward security and the backward security. In this paper, we propose a novel authentication scheme for cloud computing which can address these problems and also provide the anonymity for the user. The trick we use is using the password, the smart card and the public key technique to protect the processes of the user`s authentication and key exchange. Under the Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) assumption, it is provably secure in the random oracle model. Compared with the existing smart card based authentication schemes in the cloud computing, the proposed scheme can provide better security degree.

Efficient Public Verification on the Integrity of Multi-Owner Data in the Cloud

        Boyang Wang,Hui Li,Xuefeng Liu,Fenghua Li,Xiaoqing Li 한국통신학회 2014 Journal of communications and networks Vol.16 No.6

Cloud computing enables users to easily store their dataand simply share data with others. Due to the security threats inan untrusted cloud, users are recommended to compute verificationmetadata, such as signatures, on their data to protect the integrity. Many mechanisms have been proposed to allow a publicverifier to efficiently audit cloud data integrity without receivingthe entire data from the cloud. However, to the best of our knowledge, none of them has considered about the efficiency of publicverification on multi-owner data, where each block in data issigned by multiple owners. In this paper, we propose a novel publicverification mechanism to audit the integrity of multi-ownerdata in an untrusted cloud by taking the advantage of multisignatures. With our mechanism, the verification time and storageoverhead of signatures on multi-owner data in the cloud are independentwith the number of owners. In addition, we demonstratethe security of our scheme with rigorous proofs. Compared to thestraightforward extension of previousmechanisms, ourmechanismshows a better performance in experiments.

Attribute-Based Data Sharing with Flexible and Direct Revocation in Cloud Computing

( Yinghui Zhang ),( Xiaofeng Chen ),( Jin Li ),( Hui Li ),( Fenghua Li ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2014 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.8 No.11

Attribute-based encryption (ABE) is a promising cryptographic primitive for implementing fine-grained data sharing in cloud computing. However, before ABE can be widely deployed in practical cloud storage systems, a challenging issue with regard to attributes and user revocation has to be addressed. To our knowledge, most of the existing ABE schemes fail to support flexible and direct revocation owing to the burdensome update of attribute secret keys and all the ciphertexts. Aiming at tackling the challenge above, we formalize the notion of ciphertext-policy ABE supporting flexible and direct revocation (FDR-CP-ABE), and present a concrete construction. The proposed scheme supports direct attribute and user revocation. To achieve this goal, we introduce an auxiliary function to determine the ciphertexts involved in revocation events, and then only update these involved ciphertexts by adopting the technique of broadcast encryption. Furthermore, our construction is proven secure in the standard model. Theoretical analysis and experimental results indicate that FDR-CP-ABE outperforms the previous revocation-related methods.

Clinical application of sartorius tendon transposition during radical vulvectomy: a case control study of 58 cases at a single institution

        Lei Li,Xinxin Kou,Xiaojie Feng,Fenghua Liu,Hongtu Chao,Liying Wang 대한부인종양학회 2015 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.26 No.4

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical effects of sartorius tendon transposition versus sartorius transposition during bilateral inguinal lymphadenectomy of radical vulvectomy. Methods: A total of 58 vulvar cancer patients who had surgery from May 2007 to October 2013, in which 30 patients received sartorius transposition and 28 patients received sartorius tendon transposition. All patients were matched by age, body mass index, stage, histology, and grade. Intraoperative variables and postoperative complications, recurrence, progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS) and postoperative life quality were compared and analyzed. Results: No significant differences were found at median surgical times and amounts of bleeding (p=0.316 and p=0.249, respectively), neither at the incidences of groin cellulitis and lymphocele (p=0.673 and p=0.473, respectively), but the recovery times of the inguinal wounds were shorter (p=0.026) and the incidences of wound break and chronic lymphedema were significantly decreased in the tendon transposition group (p=0.012 and p=0.022, respectively). Postoperative quality of life in tendon transposition group was significantly improved as indicated by the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire. Recurrences were similar (p=0.346) and no significant differences were found at PFS and OS (p=0.990 and p=0.683, respectively). Conclusion: Compared to sartorius transposition, sartorius tendon transposition during inguinal lymphadenectomy led to improved patient recovery, reduced postoperative complications, and improved life quality without compromising the outcomes.

Detection of the expression of a Bombyx mori Atypical Protein Kinase C in BmPLV-Infected Larval Midgut

        Cao, Jian,He, Yuanqing,Li, Guohui,Chen, Keping,Kong, Jie,Wang, Fenghua,Shi, Jing,Yao, Qin Korean Society of Sericultural Science 2011 International Journal of Industrial Entomology Vol.22 No.2

Protein kinase C (PKC) is involved in many cellular signaling pathways, it participates in many physiological processes, such as cell cycle, growth, proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. To investigate the effect of PKC on the silkworm midgut tissue infection of Bombyx mori parvo-like virus (BmPLV), a B. mori atypical protein kinase C (BmaPKC) gene was cloned from larval midgut tissue, expressed in E. coli and purified. Additionally, the BmPLV susceptible silkworm strain and resistant silkworm strain were used to test the effect of the B. mori infection on BmPLV. The result showed that BmaPKC encodes a predicted 586 amino acid protein, which contains a C-terminal kinase domain and an N-terminal regulatory domain. The maximum expression amount of the soluble (His)6-tagged fusion protein was detected after 0.8 mmol/L IPTG was added and cultured at $21^{\circ}C$. The (His) 6-tagged fusion protein revealed about 73 kDa molecular weight which confirmed by western blot and mass spectrography. Furthermore BmaPKC protein were detected at 0-72 h post-infection in BmPLVinfected larval midgut tissue, western blot showed that as time went on, the expression of BmaPKC increased gradually in susceptible strain, the expression quantity on 72 h is 5 times of 0 h. However, in resistant strain, the expression quantity is slightly lower than susceptible strain. But no significant change in resistant strain was observed as time went on. The available data suggest that BmaPKC may involve in the regulation of BmPLV proliferation.

A novel phase change material-based heat sink with an orthotropic plate to enhance the temperature field uniformity for avionics

Bo Wu,Peng Li,Fenghua Zhang,Feng Tian 대한기계학회 2021 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.35 No.5

In this study, an orthotropic plate arranged at the bottom of the phase change material (PCM) -based heat sink is employed to enhance the temperature field uniformity (TFU) in the heat sink. The performance of the orthotropic plate in enhancing the TFU is numerically studied during the melting process of the PCM. The effects of the orthotropic conductivity (R) are examined at R = 10 Rb, 5 Rb, 0.2 Rb and 0.1 Rb. The configuration including a copper plate is also taken into consideration as a contrast to achieve a more objective and deeper insight. It is found that the orthotropic plate can significantly enhance the TFU by up to 4 times in the PCM regions; it can also narrow down the temperature range in the heat sink region. When the orthotropic conductivity is greater than Rb, it can even benefit in improving the performance of thermal management of the heat sink. Principles about the orthotropic conductivity are drawn and comprehensive evaluations are conducted to guide in designing PCM-based heat sink for thermal management of avionics.

EMP3 Overexpression in Primary Breast Carcinomas is not Associated with Epigenetic Aberrations

        Wei Zhou,Jinming Yu,Zheng Jiang,Xingang Li,Fenghua Xu,Yanbing Liu,Peie Wen,Li Kong,Ming Hou,Jinming Yu 대한의학회 2009 Journal of Korean medical science Vol.24 No.1

Epithelial membrane protein 3 (EMP3) is a trans-membrane signaling molecule with important roles in the regulation of apoptosis, differentiation and invasion of cancer cells, but the detailed is largely still unknown. We analyzed the mRNA levels and methylation statuses of EMP3 in 63 primary breast carcinomas and assessed their correlations with clinicopathologic variables. The expression of EMP3 mRNA in primary breast carcinomas was significantly higher than the expression of 20 normal breast tissues (p<10-7). EMP3 overexpression in breast carcinomas was significantly related to histological grade III (p=3.9×10-7), lymph node metastasis (p= 0.003), and strong Her-2 expression (p=3.3×10-6). Hypermethylation frequencies of EMP3 were detected in 36.5% of breast carcinomas by methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction. However, no significant correlations were found between methylation status of EMP3 and mRNA expression levels as well as other clinical parameters. In conclusion, EMP3 may be a novel marker of tumor aggressiveness. Overexpression of EMP3 in primary breast carcinoma is not associated with DNA methylation.

Comparison of Intensities and Binary Interactions of Four Basic Tastes between an Electronic Tongue and a Human Tongue

        Huaixiang Tian,Tao Feng,Zuobing Xiao,Shiqing Song,Zhiyu Li,Qiang Liu,Deshou Mao,Fenghua Li 한국식품과학회 2015 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.24 No.5

For detection of single taste intensities and binary interactions using an electronic tongue (E-tongue) and the human tongue (H-tongue), the 4 basic flavor substances of sucrose, caffeine, citric acid, and sodium chloride were used. A linear fit was performed using response values of the E-tongue and concentrations of the basic tastes. The taste intensity of the E-tongue was positively correlated with sour and salty substances, but negatively correlated with sweet and bitter substances. All taste intensities were positively correlated with the 4 flavor substances using the H-tongue. A mathematical model of the 4 taste substances on both the E-tongue and H-tongue exhibited a semi-logarithmic form. There were synergistic, dampening, or offset effects on the taste intensity of each flavor substance in binary systems. H-tongue and E-tongue results were consistent for sweet/bitter and salt/sour interactions. H-tongue and E-tongue results were contradictory for salt/sweet and sweet/sour interactions.

Magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate inhibits L-type Ca2+ channels, Ca2+ transients, and contractility but not hERG K+ channels

        Yue Lin,Yuanyuan Zhang,Qiongtao Song,Tao Song,Xue Han,Ying Zhang,Xuan Zhang,Xi Chu,Fenghua Zhang,Li Chu,Jianping Zhang 대한약학회 2017 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.40 No.10

To explore the cardiovascular protective effectsof Magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate (MI), especially theunderlying cellular mechanisms related to L-type calciumchannels and myocardial contractility, and to examine theeffects of MI on hERG K? current expressed in HEK293cells. We used the whole-cell patch clamp technique,video-based edge detection and dual excitation fluorescencephotomultiplier systems to explore the effect of MIon L-type Ca2? currents (ICa-L) and cell contraction in ratcardiomyocytes. We also examined the rapidly activatingdelayed rectifier potassium current (IKr) expressed inHEK293 cells using a perforated patch clamp. MI inhibitedICa-L in a dose-dependent manner, with a half-maximalinhibitory concentration (IC50) of 0.22 mg/ml, and themaximal inhibitory effect was 61.10 ± 0.59%. MI at aconcentration of 0.3 mg/ml reduced cell shortening by24.12 ± 3.97% and the peak value of the Ca2? transient by36.54 ± 4.96%. MI had no significant influence on hERGK? channels expressed in HEK293 cells at all testpotentials. MI exerts protective effects on the heart via theinhibition of ICa-L and cell shortening in rat cardiomyocytes. However, MI had no significant influence on IKr;thus, MI may exert cardioprotective effects without causingdrug-induced long QT syndrome.
