        As an increasing interest in GIS, it has been used in many fields such as urban planning, environment, military. Due to the ubiquitous internet, the number of users are able to take advantage of GIS without the constraints of time and space. However, local government such as Cheonan city does not serve local spatial database properly to user. Therefore, this research proposed the methodologies that can be served effectively local spatial database by combining internet and GIS.         This study attempted to determine the degree of asbestos release from the aging slate roof by comparing the asbestos content in the slate roof rain gutter with a colored steel plate (tin plate) over the slate roof. Four slate roof houses located in Haengmok-ri, Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, and one house constructed with a colored steel plate on the slate roof were selected to collect the sediment of the roof rain gutter. The asbestos fiber content was calculated by a point counting method using a polarization microscope after pretreatment with conversion treatment and hydrochloric acid treatment. The average asbestos content of the four slate roof rain gutter were 1.89%. However, asbestos was not detected in the Slate covering roof rain gutter, which were constructed on the slate roof. Asbestos fiber content was the highest at 2.89% in the slate roof rain gutter installed in 1976, followed by 2.44% in 1953. From the above results, it is necessary to minimize secondary damage as asbestos fibers released from slate roof houses to the surrounding atmosphere or leaked from slate roofs as rainwater may cause soil pollution and seriously affect residents' health. Although covering with colored steel plates (tin plates) has been shown to prevent the leakage of asbestos fibers to some extent, it is believed that a policy alternative to remove the slate roof as soon as possible is needed to solve the fundamental problem.

      • The Effects of Physical Fitness and Satisfaction on According to Different Exercise Method in College Students

        Purpose : In previous researches, we learned that exercising promotes physical fitness ,strength and positive change in the physical satisfaction level but reviewing previous researches, there was a limit in our finding as it was based on a singular physical activity or exercise and we could not exactly find out which exercise provided the most physical change and satisfaction level. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to find out effects of physical fitness and satisfaction according to participate in exercise method(circuit strength, weight bearing program and badminton). Method: Twelve college students participated exercise program(circuit strength program : n=4, weight bearing program : n=4 and badminton : n=4) who measured 20m PACER, push-up, grip strength, sit-up and sit-reach and body composition, and satisfaction which ``Sports Participants Satisfaction Questionnaire`` developed by Yoo et al(2010). The questionnaire covered improving physical function (3), improved exercise capacity (3), promote social and psychological benefits (3), two healthy living (2) which consisted of total of 14 questions with 5 multiple choices. With regard to the body satisfaction level survey, we have used the BSQ: Body Shape Questionnaire developed in 1987 by Cooper, Taylor and Fairvurn. Park, Eun-ah and Noh, Young-kyung was edited the BSQ questionnaire for this research. The body satisfaction level survey consisted of four sub-variables and a total of 27 questions. Result: First, there is a high level of increase overall in physical strength measurement results especially in sit-ups, flexibility, push-ups and cardiovascular endurance. However, there was little difference between the groups in terms stamina changes while we could not compare physical strength changes based on the type of exercise. Second, there was a slight decrease in weight, BMI, waist and hip circumference with regard to physical changes. However, the physical changes between groups were small while there was no physical change based on the type of exercise. In addition, the was no changes in the level of satisfaction based on after and before exercising while there was only slight difference exercise groups. Third, overall satisfaction level showed significant increase among the exercise groups while the health exercise showed the highest level of satisfaction followed by badminton and circuit training. In terms of exercise satisfaction level by category, physical function improvement and improved exercise capacity showed the highest level of increase and there was little difference in the exercise satisfaction level based on the exercise type. Fourth, if we look at the satisfaction level for physical strength change, satisfaction level was high for strength and agility category but showed no changes between exercise groups. Conclusion: This research is the study of the satisfaction level and changes in physical and physical strength based on three different exercises for different exercise groups. Based on the results of the study, exercising regularly helps increase the overall physical level in all exercise groups and the satisfaction level gradually increases. However, there was little difference between the exercise groups and this research was unable to verify the difference based on the exercise groups. Since the research was limited to 12 participants, a follow-up research should be conducted based on an extended level of participants.

        Serum alanine aminotransferase levels are closely associated with metabolic disturbances in apparently healthy young adolescents independent of obesity

        Purpose: Liver metabolism plays a pivotal role in the development of metabolic disorders. We aimed to investigate the clinical and laboratory risk factors associated with alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels in young adolescents from an urban population in Korea. Methods: A population of 120 apparently healthy adolescents aged 12-13 years was included in the cross-sectional design study; 58 were overweight or obese and 62 were of normal weight. We estimated anthropometric and laboratory measurements, including waist-to-height ratio, blood pressure, insulin sensitivity, aspartate aminotransferases (AST), ALT, and lipid profiles. Results: The mean ages of the overweight or obese and normal weight participants were $12.9{\pm}0.3$ and $13.0{\pm}0.3years$, respectively. Height, weight, body mass index, waist circumference, waist-to-height ratio, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, AST, ALT, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, triglyceride, insulin, and the homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) score were significantly higher and the high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol and quantitative insulin-sensitivity check index were significantly lower in the overweight/obese participants in comparison to the normal-weight participants (all P<0.05). In multivariate linear regression analysis, waist-to-height ratio, systolic blood pressure, and HOMA-IR score were independently and positively associated with serum ALT levels. Conclusion: Screening for ALT levels in adolescents may help to differentiate those at risk of metabolic abnormalities and thus prevent disease progression at an early age.

        Escitalopram, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, inhibits voltage-dependent K<sup>+</sup> channels in coronary arterial smooth muscle cells

        We investigated the inhibitory effect of escitalopram, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), on voltage-dependent $K^+$ (Kv) channels in freshly separated from rabbit coronary arterial smooth muscle cells. The application of escitalopram rapidly inhibited vascular Kv channels. Kv currents were progressively inhibited by an increase in the concentrations of escitalopram, suggesting that escitalopram inhibited vascular Kv currents in a concentration-dependent manner. The $IC_{50}$ value and Hill coefficient for escitalopram-induced inhibition of Kv channels were $9.54{\pm}1.33{\mu}M$ and $0.75{\pm}0.10$, respectively. Addition of escitalopram did not alter the steady-state activation and inactivation curves, suggesting that the voltage sensors of the channels were not affected. Pretreatment with inhibitors of Kv1.5 and/or Kv2.1 did not affect the inhibitory action of escitalopram on vascular Kv channels. From these results, we concluded that escitalopram decreased the vascular Kv current in a concentration-dependent manner, independent of serotonin reuptake inhibition.

        Clinical Characteristics and Treatment Outcomes of Pulmonary Diseases Caused by Coinfections With Multiple Nontuberculous Mycobacterial Species

        Background: Coinfections with multiple nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) species have not been widely studied. We aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics and treatment outcomes in patients with NTM-pulmonary disease (PD) caused by coinfection with multiple NTM species. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients with NTM-PD at a tertiary referral hospital in Korea between March 2012 and December 2018. Coinfection was defined as two or more species of NTM pathogens isolated from the same respiratory specimen or different specimens within three months. Results: Among 1,009 patients with NTM-PD, 147 (14.6%) NTM coinfections were observed (average age 64.7 years, 69.4% women). NTM species were identified more frequently (median 6 vs. 3 times, P < 0.001) in the coinfection group than in the single species group, and follow-up duration was also longer in the coinfection group (median 44.9 vs. 27.1 months, P < 0.001). Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) and M. abscessus and M. massiliense (MAB) were the dominant combinations (n = 71, 48.3%). For patients treated for over six months in the MAC plus MAB group (n = 31), sputum culture conversion and microbiological cure were achieved in 67.7% and 41.9% of patients, respectively. We divided the MAC plus MAB coinfection group into three subgroups according to the target mycobacteria; however, no statistical differences were found in the treatment outcomes. Conclusion: In NTM-PD cases, a significant number of multiple NTM species coinfections occurred. Proper identification of all cultured NTM species through follow-up is necessary to detect multispecies coinfections. Further research is needed to understand the nature of NTM-PD in such cases.

        Prescription Patterns and Burden of Pediatric Asthma in Korea

        <P><B>Purpose</B></P><P>This study aimed to estimate the prevalence, prescription pattern and burden of pediatric asthma in Korea by analyzing the National Health Insurance (NHI) claims data.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>We retrospectively analyzed the insurance claim records from the Korean NHI claims database from January 2010 to December 2014. Asthmatic patients were defined as children younger than 18 years, with appropriate 10th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases codes (J45 or J46) and a prescription for 1 or more asthma maintenance medications at the same date. Hospitalization and emergency department visits for asthma were defined as use of short-acting beta<SUB>2</SUB>-agonists during hospital visits among asthmatic patients.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>There were 1,172,807 asthmatic children in 2010, which increased steadily to 1,590,228 in 2014 in Korea. The prevalence showed an increasing trend annually for all ages. The mean prevalence by age in those older than 2 years decreased during the study period (from 39.4% in the 2–3 year age group to 2.6% in the 15–18 year age group). In an outpatient prescription, leukotriene receptor antagonists were the most commonly prescribed medication for all ages. Patients older than 6 years for whom inhaled corticosteroids were prescribed comprised less than 15% of asthmatic patients. The total direct medical cost for asthma between 2010 and 2014 ranged from $376 to $483 million. Asthma-related medical cost per person reached its peak in $366 in 2011 and decreased to $275 in 2014.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>The prevalence of pediatric asthma increased annually and decreased with age. Individual cost of asthma showed a decreasing trend in Korean children.</P>

        Naringenin Derivative Diethyl (5,4'-dihydroxy flavanone-7-yl) Phosphate Inhibits Cell Growth and Induces Apoptosis in A549 Human Lung Cancer Cells

        Anti-cancer effects of naringenin derivative diethyl (5,4'-dihydroxy flavanone-7-yl) phosphate were evaluated in human lung cancer cells. The effect of diethyl (5,4'-dihydroxy flavanone-7-yl) phosphate (dEdHF-7-p) on A549 cell viability was measured using MTS assay and cell counting. Morphological changes were detected using phase-contrast microscopy. Apoptosis was analyzed using Hoechst staining. The influence of dEdHF-7-p on cell cycle distribution was determined using propidium iodide (PI) staining, and protein expression was determined by Western blot analysis. A newly synthesized naringenin derivative dEdHF-7-p suppressed cell growth of A549 though mechanisms including inhibition of cell cycle and increased apoptosis. Apoptotic and cell cycle modulators were changed by dEdHF-7-p in A549 cells; cyclins, ppRB, and anti-apoptotic factor Bcl-2 were down-regulated, whereas apoptotic factor Bax and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors p21 and p53 were enhanced, thereby releasing cytochrome c into the cytosol of dEdHF-7-p-treated-A549 cells. dEdHF-7-p treatment processed caspases-3/-8/-9 and cleavage of poly ADP-ribose polymerase. The dEdHF-7-p treatment enhanced Fas expression and decreased expression of cell survival factors such as PI3K and p-Akt in a dose-dependent manner. Taken together, dEdHF-7-p induces apoptosis by inhibiting the PI3K/Akt survival signaling pathway and modulating mitochondria-emanated intrinsic and Fas extrinsic pathways in A549 cells.
