The Mg₂SiO₄: Tb, Nd, Dy thermoluminescent phospher has been prepared by sintering Mg₂SiO₄after doping the transition elements Tb, Nd and Dy. The heating rate is 10℃/sec at this thermoluminescent phospher are heated. From the results of this study, the following conclusions were obtained. The maximum peaks are found in the measured Mg₂SiO₄: Tb, Nd, Dy, and TL glow curve at 289℃, 252℃ and 220℃ when the 1wt.% ∼ 5wt.%. Glow curve of TLD increased TL intensity and temperature of peak appears to the high temperature when the heating rate is 10℃/sec∼25℃/sec. The activation energy of the main peak has been estimated by the peak shape method. The estimated activation energies are 1.26 eV, 0.53 eV and 0.80 eV respectively. The thermoluminiscence process in Mg₂SiO₄: Tb, Nd, Dy are found to the 2nd order when the main peak of the glow curve is analyzed by peak shape method. The Mg₂SiO₄: Tb thermoluminescent phosphor is the most sensitive to X-rays among the other materials. The dose responses of Mg₂SiO₄: Tb, Dy TLD are linear up to intensity of X-ray.

본 연구에서는 Mg₂SiO₄에 활성화 물질로 La, Ho를 첨가하여 열형광체를 제작하였고 불순물의 농도를 1wt.% ∼5 wt.%까지 변화시키면서 열평광강도의 glow curve를 측정하였다. 도한 열형광체의 glow curve를 peak shape법으로 분석해서 TL특성에 대한 포획 매개변수와 활성화 에너지, 발광차수, 선량의존성등을 조사하였으며, 그 물리적 특성을 조사하고 선량계로서 타당성과 실용성을 확인하였다. The activation energy of the main peak has been estimated by the peak shape method. The estimated activation energies are 1.77 eV. 1.52 eV respectively. The thermoluminescence process in Mg₂SiO₄: La and Ho are found to the 2nd order when the main peak of the glow curve is analyzed by peak shape method. The dose responses of Mg₂SiO₄: La and Ho TLD are linear up to intensity of X-ray.
CaSO₄: Dy 열형광선량계에서 활성제 Dy가 Glow 피크에 미치는 영향

CaSO ₄ thermoluminescent phosphor has been prepared by sintering the CaSO ₄ after doping the transition element Dy. The maximum peaks are found in the measured CaSO ₄ TL glow curve at 210℃, 240℃ when the 0.01-0.1 mol % and 0.2-0.5 mol %. The activation energy of the main peak has been estimated by the peak shape method. The estimated activation energies are 1.26 eV respectively. The dose responses of CaSO₄TLD are linear up to 1-800 rad of X-rays.

N/A There have been a few repots of acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) presenting hypocellular bone marrow. Most physicians are reluctant to give these patients intensive chemotherapy because of the potential risk of serious bone marrow failure. We experienced 10 patients with hypocellular AML (HAML) that could be difined by the criteria of 30% or more atypical blasts and 50% or less cellularity in the bone marrow. There were six men and four women and their ages ranged from 20 to 67 years. Various regimens including low dose ara-C alone (4 cases) and low dose ara-C with modified TAD (1case), with mitoxanthrone (1 case) or with mithramycin (1 case) were applied. Of the remaming three patlents; one received supportive care only, another mithramycin alone and the third allogeneic bone marrow transplantation. As a result, the three cases who received either allogeneic bone marrow transplantation or low dose ara-C with modified TAD or that with mitoxanthrone entered into complete remission. However, only the patient who received allogeneic bone marrow transplantation is still alive. The duration of survival ranged from 2 months to 18 months; the median was 8 months. One of the most common complications during chemotherapy was severe bone marrow suppression and the major cause of death was various severe infections during the pancytopenic period. Though the most favorable therapy for HAML is still controversial, bone marrow transplantation is considered to be the choice of treatment at the present time for young patients with HLA-identical donors. If bone marrow transplantation is not available, a more aggressive form of therapy in addition to low dose ara-C will be preferable.
Expression of temperature responsive genes in cell cultures derived from Bombyx mori

Insects are heterotherms that exhibit a close relationship between their ecology (especially temperature changes) and physiology. In the present study, selected genes associated with cell death and temperature were examined to determine gene expression in Bombyx mori in high and low temperature environments. We determined the amount of dsRNA, different concentrations of dsRNA, and different type of cells to set the conditions most efficient for RNAi. We then prepared dsRNA transcripts of the genes associated with cell death and temperature response. We analyzed cell damage via Trypan blue staining and found that cell viability was reduced after knockdown of these genes. The special transduced cell lines produced in the present study can be applied in various research fields. We also expect that these cell lines can be used as a research tool for the precise functional analysis of various genes.

Chinese milkvetch(CM) has been cultivated as green manure source for environment friendly farming in southern area. This experiment was conducted to produce good quality rice through studying the changes of yield, quality and leaf colors as affected by the amount of CM biomass retuned to paddy field. We growed rice, transplanted in June 10 with cultivar dongjinilho, in four different plots retuned green manure with 0, 1.5, 3.0, and 4.5 ㎏ m-2 CM biomass in May 30. Nitrogen amounts were 5.5g by 1.5㎏CM biomass, 11.1g by 3.0㎏, and 16.6g by 4.5㎏ in late May. There were no different SPAD values among treatments in 10 days after transplanting. However, the more the CM biomass from 20 days after transplanting, the higher the SPAD values were. the plot of CM biomass to 3.0 ㎏ m-2 had same heading date but the plot of 4.5 ㎏ m-2 was one day late heading date as compared with the others. There were no different plant height, number of panicle, panicle length, number of leaf and ripening ratio among the CM biomass amounts. The higher the CM biomass amount, the more likely the plant was lodge. the plot retuned CM fresh biomass 1.5 ㎏ m-2 showed the higher rice yield than the plot retuned 3.0 and 4.5 ㎏ m-2 in 2006, but all plots had similar rice yields in 2007. There was no different whiteness of rice among all treatments . The more the CM biomass amount retuned to plot, the higher the protein content of rice.

Hydrogels for wound dressings from a mixture of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP), glycerin and an antibacterial agent were obtained by a γ-irradiation combined with freeze-thawing. The physical properties such as the gelation and swelling degree of the hydrogels were examined. When the PVP/PVA ratio was 6 : 4 (wt%) and prepared by combined irradiation and freeze-thawing, it showed an excellent swelling capacity (>1,200%). The antibacterial effect of the hydrogels containing the antibacterial agents was observed to be effective as the concentration of antibacterial agents increased. The results demonstrated that hydrogel in a proper blending ratio could be used as a wound dressing that can accelerate wound healing with an antibacterial effect.

Aim(s): The aims of this study were to test a mediation model identifying the mediating effect of resilience on the relationship between depression and post-traumatic growth (PTG) among patients with meningioma. The hypotheses in this study were that depression has a significant direct effect on PTG and depression has a significant indirect effect on PTG via resilience. Method(s): This study used a cross-sectional descriptive correlational design. 146 patients diagnosed brain meningioma participated in this study. Data were collected by face-to-face interview from March 2019 to December 2019 in an outpatient neurosurgery clinic. Measurement included the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS), Dispositional Resilience Scale-15 (DRS-15), Posttraumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI). Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The mediating effect was verified using model 4, a simple mediation model of Hayes’s PROCESS macro program. The significance of the indirect effect was verified by estimating the bootstrap bias-corrected 95% confidence interval, and the number of bootstrap was set to 10,000. Result(s): Most of the participants (70.5%) were female and average age was 57.92 ± 11.27 years. They diagnosed 53.82 years and 92.5% of the participants was WHO grade Ⅰ and Ⅱ. The mean score of the depression, resilience, and PTG were 13.03±4.44, 26.07±6.65, and 57.45±21.49, respectively. Depression had a significant positive effect on resilience, which accounted for 33.6% (B=-0.918, p<.001, 95% CI [-1.152, -0.684]). Depression and resilience had significant positive effect on PTG, which accounted for 35.8% (B=1.538, p<.001, 95% CI [1.006, -2.064]). But, depression had not a significant effect on PTG. Consequently, Resilience had a completely mediated on the relationship between depression and PTG among meningioma patients (B=-1.409, p<.001). Conclusion(s): When nurses assess the PTG with meningioma, they should be considered their depression and resilience. Also, it should be needed to develop nursing interventions for resilience and PTG improvement among meningioma patients.
