Background: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government initiated the Billion Tree Tsunami Afforestation Project including regeneration and afforestation approaches. An effort was made to assess the distribution characteristics of afforested species under present and future climatic scenarios using ecological niche modelling. For sustainable forest management, landscape ecology can play a significant role. A significant change in the potential distribution of tree species is expected globally with changing climate. Ecological niche modeling provides the valuable information about the current and future distribution of species that can play crucial role in deciding the potential sites for afforestation which can be used by government institutes for afforestation programs. In this context, the potential distribution of 8 tree species, Cedrus deodara, Dalbergia sissoo, Juglans regia, Pinus wallichiana, Eucalyptus camaldulensis, Senegalia modesta, Populus ciliata, and Vachellia nilotica was modeled. Results: Maxent species distribution model was used to predict current and future distribution of tree species using bioclimatic variables along with soil type and elevation. Future climate scenarios, shared socio-economic pathways (SSP)2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 were considered for the years 2041–2060 and 2081–2100. The model predicted high risk of decreasing potential distribution under SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 climate change scenarios for years 2041–2060 and 2081–2100, respectively. Recent afforestation conservation sites of these 8 tree species do not fall within their predicted potential habitat for SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 climate scenarios. Conclusions: Each tree species responded independently in terms of its potential habitat to future climatic conditions. Cedrus deodara and P. ciliata are predicted to migrate to higher altitude towards north in present and future climate scenarios. Habitat of D. sissoo, P. wallichiana, J. regia, and V. nilotica is practiced to be declined in future climate scenarios. Eucalyptus camaldulensis is expected to be expanded its suitability area in future with eastward shift. Senegalia modesta habitat increased in the middle of the century but decreased afterwards in later half of the century. The changing and shifting forests create challenges for sustainable landscapes. Therefore, the study is an attempt to provide management tools for monitoring the climate change-driven shifting of forest landscapes.
An Analysis of Site Amenities for Senior Housing Using the Concept of Third Place for Seniors

The rapid growth of the older adult population is a global phenomenon that will require a reshaping of communities to reflect the older population’s perceptions and behaviors. Many retired older adults do want to remain connected to the society and are looking for a replacement for their workplace. The third place is defined as a place for socialization, according to Ray Oldenburg(1989). This study aimed to identify the importance of third place for seniors who prefer to socialize. It also examined the impact of third places on older adults’ perceived social connectedness concerning green spaces and walkable areas that helps in stress or depression reduction based on stress reduction theory. In this study, places that seniors go for socializing regularly outside their homes were defined as third places. Data collection was made by visiting a senior housing in Seoul and comparing it with international ones of which information was available via online. Based on literature review and case studies, it is evident that older people aging in low walkable environments along with less common third places become more immobile and felt lonely while older people aging in high walkable environments with common third places retain more healthy mobility patterns.
A Novel Ocular Delivery System for Phenylephrine Hydrochloride

The in vivo behaviour of phenylephrine hydrochloride in different vehicles like gels of Carbopol $907^circledR$, Carbopol $934P^circledR$ and latex system of cellulose acetate hydrogen phthalate(CAHP) was evaluated by measuring the reduction in intraocular pressure and the mydriatic activity. The parameters that haave been utilised to assess the performance of the formulations were the area under the curve (AUC), the maximum mydriasis $(I_{max})$, ethe time of maximum response $(T_{max})$ and the duration of activity (D). The influence of viscosity and mucoadhesion on the bioavailability parameters has also been investigated. Carbopol 934P and CAHP formulations showed prolonged duration of action and greater AUC compared to Carbopol 907 aqueous solution(P<0.05).
Importance of Social Support for Elderly Well-Being: Opportunities and Challenges in the New Normal

Social isolation among the elderly is a matter of concern pre-dating the pandemic and is likely to continue post-pandemic. Social support is critical for the well-being of the elderly, with the pandemic and post-pandemic trends highlighting its importance. This research investigates and addresses social isolation among the elderly in public rental housing in the post-pandemic world and explores the role of social support in promoting their well-being. The research involved a systematic literature review of existing research on social isolation among the elderly population and social support and elderly well-being, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the new normal. The survey interview focused on the participants’ social connections, social support, and well-being, as well as their experiences and perceptions of social isolation pre-pandemic, during the pandemic, and post-pandemic. Based on the results, it emphasizes the importance of social support in promoting the well-being of the elderly population and the need for tailored interventions to address social isolation among elderly renters in public rental housing.
An Analysis of Planning and Design Features of WELL Communities based on Case Studies

In 2017, the International WELL Building Institute focused to uprise human health to the forefront of building and design practices. The WELL Standard aims to deliver occupants" health and well-being interventions at the interior and the community levels as well. The WELL Standards have two categories; WELL Building Standard and WELL Community Standard. The WELL Community Standard is still in its pilot phase, with an intention to provide the protection for health and wellness in all aspects of community life. This standard has focused on the matters of air, water, sound, light, and health at the communal level. Each category then has subcategories for the assessment and measurement. Since the WELL Community Standard focuses on health and wellness of the community, it is important to study their approaches, criteria, and community design features. A total of 20 projects from different countries have been registered for the WELL Community. Six of them are from the United States and five were analyzed for this paper. Using intensive case studies, this research aimed to identify the features of WELL Community projects towards achieving the WELL Community certification. The result from the case studies suggests more frequent social interactions and engagement among community members to improve residents" life quality in Korean communities in the future.
Role of Berberis lycium in Reducing Serum Cholesterol in Broilers

This study was planned to investigate the role of Berberis lycium in reducing serum cholesterol in broilers. Six experimental rations designated as A, B, C, D, E and F having 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5% Berberis lycium were fed to 240 broiler chicks, randomly distributed into 24 replicates, so as to have 4 replicates per group and 10 chicks per replicate. The experiment lasted for 35 days. Average serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) were used as criteria of response. Average total serum cholesterol per chick was 129.33, 120.50, 116.50, 113.00, 101.67 and 114.00 mg/dl for group A, B, C, D, E and F respectively. Total serum cholesterol showed decreasing trend with the increasing level of Berberis lycium unto 2% (p<0.05). Mean serum triglyceride level per chick was 60.00, 58.17, 58.00, 55.33, 50.17 and 48.50 mg/dl for group A, B, C, D, E and F respectively. Mean serum triglyceride showed decreasing trend with the increasing level of Berberis lycium (p<0.05). Serum triglyceride was significantly lower in group F than other groups. Mean HDL per chick for the six experimental groups A, B, C, D, E and F was 52.08, 53.42, 60.42, 62.25, 62.92 and 54.50 mg/dl respectively. HDL showed increasing trend with the increase in the level of Berberis lycium unto 2%. The average serum LDL per chick was 65.25, 55.45, 44.48, 39.68, 28.72 and 49.80 mg/dl for group A, B, C, D, E and F respectively. LDL also showed decreasing trend with the increase in the level of Berberis lycium unto 2% (p<0.05). It was concluded that Berberis lycium added to feed at the rate of 2.0% can be used in broiler feed for reducing serum total cholesterol, triglyceride and LDL and increasing HDL.
