        The diffuser is used to get low pressure, and it has been applied to a lot of industry field like the heat engine, the fluid instrument power plant, the food industry, environment industry etc... because there are not any problem even it is mixed with kinds of liquid, gas, and solid. The flow characteristics in diffuser are investigated by prv and CFD. The experiment using PIV measurement for mixing pipe's flow characteristics acquired velocity distribution, .Condition : when mixing pipe's diameter ratio is 1:2.3, and the flux is Q₁ = 1.136 l/s, Q₂ = 1.706 l/s, Q₃ = 2.276 l/s . Based on the PIV and the CFD results, the flow characteristics in ejector are discussed, and it shows the validity of this study.

        Dorsal root ganglion(DRG) block by the local anesthetics and steroids which has done classically in low back pain(LBP) patients with radiculopathy has high incidence of recurrence rate and side effects of steroids. Recently a new technique of pulsed radiofrequency thermocoagulation(P-RFTC) was introduced and substituted for it because of the benefits such as relatively low recurrence rate, low risk of nerve injury and comfort during the procedure. We experienced 15 patients who had LBP with radiculopathy and no or little response to epidural steroid injection. When we performed DR ganglionotomy by P- RFTC under the C-arm guide in these patients, we tried to approach the exact DR ganglion using tow cannulas - the one for obtaining patient's subjective symptoms and injection of contrast dye, the other for making a RF lesioning after identifying the impedance of sensory and motor stimulation. In conclusion, DR ganglionotomy by P- RFTC using two cannulas in LBP patients is an easy and safe procedure with satisfactory results.

        Under the various clinical circumstances, there is a condition to change source to skin distance(SSD). It is possible to correct photon beam by well-known inverse square law. On the other hand, the electron beam is not exact location of source, that's why it is difficult to apply as it is. In case of electron beam, we should correct the difference of SSD by measure effective SSD . There are many ways to measure effective SSD. In this study, Faiz Khan's method was used. The measurement energy is 6,9,12,16,20 MeV and field size is set standard applicator 6×6, 10×10, 15×15, 20×20, 25x25㎠. From the bottom of the standard applicator to skin distance is set to 5㎝. So we measured dose at the gap to 0∼20㎝. According to a production company of linear accelerator, or even though same production company, the qualities of electron beam can be different. So, effective SSD can be different every several accelerator. Therefore, it is desirable to use the effective SSD measured at every electron beam energy and field size actually.

        The sirocco fan is used to get low noise, and it has been applied to a lot of industry field like the heat engine, the fluid instrument power plant, the food industry, environment industry etc... because there are not problems even it is mixed with a any kind of liquid, gas, and solid. The flow characteristics in sirocco fan are investigated by PIV. The experiment using PIV measurement for Test section's flow characteristics acquired velocity distribution, Condition : when sirocco fan in automobile air controller maximum 1450RPM, and a revolution is a variation (l)950RPM, (2)l100RPM, (3) 1250RPM. The agreement a experiment shows the validity of this study and the results of this study would be useful to the engineers who design for the flow systems

      • McCoy 세포에서 Chlamydia trachomatis의 병원성 인자에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 병원성 세균인 Chlamydia trachomatis(C. trachomatis)가 숙주세포에침습시 C. trachomatis의 병원성 인자와 C. trachomatis와 상호작용하는 숙주 세포막의 인자를 규명함으로써 숙주세포에 대한 감염율을 향상시켜 보다 향상된 진단 방법을 개발하기 위하여 수행하였다. C. trachomatis로 감염된 세포에서 기본소체의 막 단백질을 분리한 결과 각 혈청형의 39 kDa과 42 kDa에서 major outer membranes(MOMPs)이 관찰되었으며, 혈청형 E와 G의 MOMPs는 42.5 kDa으로 동일하였지만 혈청형 F, H, I, 그리고 K의 MOMPs는 각각 다르게 관찰되었다. C. trachomatis가 숙주세포로 침습시 관련된 병원성 인자에 대하여 조사하고자 단층세포로 배양된 배양용기에 C. trachomatis를 24, 48 그리고 73시간대별로 접종시켜 관찰한 결과 72시간의 MOMPs의 양이 가장 많이 증가하였으며 이 결과로 MOMPS이 C. trachomatis 병원성에 중요한 작용을 함을 확인할 수 있었다. C. trachomatis가 침습시 숙주세포의 막 단백질 변화양상을 관찰하기 위해 정상세포와 C. trachomatis로 1, 2, 3 그리고 4시간대별로 접종 시간을 달리한 숙주세포의 막 단백질을 분리한 결과 42 kDa의 단백질 양이 Chlamydia에 감염된 세포 내에서 증가됨을 관찰할 수 있었다. 이로 42 kDa의 막 단백질이 침습시 숙주세포 표면에 대한 수용체로서 작용함을 알 수 있었다. The present study was performed to analyze the pathogenic factors involved in the invasion process of Chlamydia trachomatis(C. trachomatis) into McCoy cells. In this study, elementary bodies(EBs) of C. trachomatis serotypes(E, F, G, H, I, K and LGV) could be isolated by the method of Percoll density gradient centrifugation and the pathogens of serotypes were also compared from whole-cell lysates by using sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel elelectrophoresis. All chlamydial serotypes showed a single predominant protein ranging from 39 to 42 kDa. The major outer membrane proteins(MOMPs) of the E and G serotypes had an identical molecular weight of 42.5 kDa. In contrast, the MOMPs of the F, H, I and K serotypes were showed different molecular weights of MOMPs. By immunoblotting with anti-MOMP antibody it was revealed that the quantify of MOMPs was time-dependently increased when McCoy cells were infected with Chlamydia for 24, 48 and 72 hr. These results indicated that MOMPs are closely related to chlamydial infection into the host cell.

        The ejector is used to get low pressure, and it has been applied to a lot of industry field like the heat engine, the fluid instrument power plant, the food industry, environment industry etc. because there are not any problem even it is mixed with kinds of liquid, gas, and solid. The flow characteristics in diffuser are investigated by PIV and CFD. The agreement between numerical analysis and experiment shows the validity of this study and the results of this study would be useful to the engineers who design for the flow systems for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and wastewater purification plants.

        Cooperative actions of p21 <sup>WAF</sup><sup>1</sup> and p53 induce Slug protein degradation and suppress cell invasion

        <P>How the p53 transcription factor/tumor suppressor inhibits cell invasion is poorly understood. We demonstrate that this function of p53 requires its direct interaction with p21(WAF1), a transcriptional target of p53, and that both p21 and p53 bind to Slug, which promotes cell invasion. Functional studies reveal that p21 and p53 cooperate to facilitate Mdm2-dependent Slug degradation and that this p53 function is mimicked by p53(R273H), a mutant lacking trans-activating activity. These actions of p21 and p53 are induced by 관-irradiation of cells and also operate in vivo. This is the first study to elucidate a mechanism involving p53 and p21 cooperation.</P>

        Effects of Dietary Protein and Lipid Levels on Growth and Body Composition of Juvenile Far Eastern Catfish Silurus asotus

        A $3{\times}2$ factorial experiment was conducted to determine the effects of dietary protein and lipid levels on the growth and body composition of juvenile far eastern catfish. Six diets were formulated to contain three levels of protein (20%, 30% and 40%) and two levels of lipid (9% and 17%). Triplicate groups of fish (initial body weight of 7.6 g) were hand-fed to apparent satiation for 66 days. Final mean weight was improved with increasing dietary protein and lipid levels, and the highest final mean weight was observed in fish fed the 40/17 (% protein/% lipid) diet. No significant difference was observed in final mean weight for fish fed between 30/17 diet and 40/9 diet. Feed efficiency of fish fed the diets containing over 30% protein levels with 9% and 17% lipid levels were significantly higher than those of fish fed the 20% protein levels. Feed efficiency of fish fed the 30/17 diet was not significantly different from that of fish fed the 40/9 diet or 40/17 diet. Feed efficiency and protein efficiency ratio of fish fed the 20% protein diets with 17% lipid level were significantly higher than those of fish fed 9% lipid diet. Daily feed intake of fish tended to decrease with increasing dietary protein and lipid levels. Moisture content of whole body in fish fed the 9% lipid diets was significantly higher than that of fish fed the 17% lipid diets at the same protein level, but the opposite trends were found for crude lipid content. Significant effects of dietary lipid were observed for most fatty acids, according to their relative values in the diets. The results of this study suggest that the protein requirement for maximum growth of juvenile far eastern catfish may be higher than 40%, and an increase of dietary lipid level from 9% to 17% can improve growth and feed utilization.

        지구성 운동이 흰쥐 해마에서 산화질소합성효소 발현에 미치는 영향

        김영표, 윤진환, 정일규, 최덕구, 이계영, 김성수, 신말순 김창주. 지구성 운동이 흰쥐 해마에서 산화질소합성효소 발현에 미치는 영향. 운동과학, 제11권 제2호, 359-370, 2002. 본 연구는 지구성 운동이 해마 치상회(hippocampal dentate gyrus)에서 nitric oxide (NO)의 합성효소인 nitric oxide synthase (NOS) 발현에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위하여 Sprague-Dawley계 수컷 흰쥐 총24마리를 대조군 (n = 8), 저강도 운동군 (n = 8), 중등도 운동군 (n = 8)으로 분류하여, 일일 1회, 1주일에 5일간 총 4주 동안 트레드밀 지구성 운동을 실시하였다. 저강도 운동군은 트레드밀 경사도 0 %에서 처음 5분간 3 m/min, 다음 5분간 5 m/min,그리고 20분간 8 m/min 속도로 총 30분 달리기를 실시하였으며, 중등도 운동군온 초기 5분간 16 m/min, 다음 5분간 19 m/min, 그리고 20분간 22 m/min 속도로 달리기를 실시하였다. NOS 양성세포수 발현을 관찰하기 위하여 nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate-diaphorase (NADPH-d) 조직화학법을 실시하였다. 체중의 변화는 모든 군에서 4주 후에 유의하게 증가하였고 중등도 운동군은 운동 1주와 운동 2주 후에 대조군과 저강도 운동군에 비해 체중의 증가가 유의하게 낮았으며, 운동 4주 후에는 대조군보다 체중의 증가가 유의하게 낮게 나타났다. 해마 치상회 (dentate gyrus) 부위에서 지구성 운동에 의한NADPH-d 양성세포 수 발현은 집단간 유의 (p<.001)한 차이를 보였으며, 사후검점 결과 중등도 운동군은 대조군과 저강도 운동군보다 NOS의 발현이 유의하게 낮게 나타났다. 해마 CA1 부위에서 생성된 NADPH-d 양성세포 수는 집단간 유의(p<.01)한 차이를 보였으며, 사후검정 결과 중등도 운동군은 대조군과 저강도 운동군보다 NOS의 발현이 유의하게 낮게 나타났다. 해마 CA2와 CA3 부위에서 생성된 NADPH-d 양성세포 수는 집단간 유의(p<.001)한 차이를 보였으며, 사후검정 결과 중등도 운동군은 대조군과 저강도 운동군보다 NOS의 발현이 유의하게 낮게 나타났다. 본 실험의 결과 장기간 지구성 운동은 해마의 치상회, CA1 부위, 그리고 CA2와 CA3 부위에서 NOS의 발현을 감소시켰으며, 이러한 NOS 발현의 감소는 병적인 상태시 급격한 NO의 증가를 억제함으로써 세포 손상을 방지할 수 있을 것으로 생각되어진다. The effect of endurance exercise on nitric oxide synthase expression in the dentate gyrus, CA1, CA2 and CA3 of the hippocampus was investigated via nicotinamide adenine dinudeotide phosphate -diaphorase (NADPH-d) histochemistry. Male Sprague -Dawley rats were randomly divided into the three groups: the control group, the low-intensity exercise group, the moderate-intensity exercise group n=8 in each group. Animals of the exercise groups were put on running for 30min once a day, 5 days per week for 4 weeks. The regimen of the low-intensity exercise consisted with running at speed of 3 m/min for the first 5 min, 5 m/min for the next 5 min, then 8 m/min for the last 20 min, while the regimen for the moderate-intensity exercise was made with running at speed of 16 m/min for the first 5 min, 19 m/min for the next 5 min, then 22 m/min for the last 20 min. In the present results, weight gain of the rats in the moderate-intensity exercise group was significantly decreased compared to the control group and mild-intensity exercise group. In the moderate-exercise intensity group, NOS expression was significantly than lower the control and low-intensity exercise group in the dentate gyrus (p<.001), CA1 (p<.01), CA2 and CA3 (p<.001). It can be suggested that endurance exercise may prevent cell damage by inhibiting NOS expression of hippocampus.
