Peach Image in Peach Tattoo: On Li Tianbao’s Nostalgic Culture Background and Identification
Juan Du 건국대학교 아시아·디아스포라 연구소 2015 International Journal of Diaspora&Cultural Critici Vol.5 No.2
Li Tianbao is good at using images of Chinese style to expand the narrative structure of his novels. In Peach Tattoo, a peach is the major image supporting the novel’s texture. Li uses this somewhat gaudy name, which is full of Chinese traditional culture, to create a nostalgic atmosphere and desolate style in telling an old love story in Malaysia. The peach in his novel is much different from Nie Hualing’s sense of enthusiasm and self-worth; it is also not the same as Zhang Ailing’s style of satire and ridicule. Li’s writing conveys a sense of misery and homesick among the alienated Malaysian immigrants while showing his solicitude and care for them.

Pyrolyzing carbon precursors will also lead to a large amount of exhaust gas, which is a waste ofresources and a huge pollution. Therefore, realizing the full utilization of exhaust gas from carbon precursorsis significant. Herein, cobalt (Co) modified hard templates with micropores or mesopores is used toprepare porous carbon for supercapacitors, in which Co species provide the active sites for the captureand deposition of exhaust gas derived from zeoliticimidazolate framework. Using N2 as protective andcarrier gas, the whole process can be realized in a simple tubular furnace. The obtained PC can replicatethe morphology and pore structure of the hard template with the characteristics of micropores or mesoporesrespectively. The microporous structure of PC gives it higher surface area and pore volume than PCwith mesopores, which makes it have high capacitance of 445.7 F g1 in supercapacitor.
Initial selection of groove location combination for multi-groove casing treatments
Juan Du,Lipeng Gao,Jichao Li,Feng Lin,Jingyi Chen 대한기계학회 2016 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.30 No.2
Stall margin improvement (SMI) curve is a function of a single groove location for a low-speed axial compressor and is investigated numerically and experimentally in this paper. SMI curve illustrates that good grooves are located in a fairly wide region approximately from 30% C ax to 80% C ax aft of the rotor leading edge. The narrow region that contains bad grooves is near 20% C ax aft of the rotor leading edge. The initial selection of groove location combination for multi-groove casing treatments is proposed based on the SMI and efficiency improvement data generated by a series of single-groove and multi-groove casing treatments. The grooves should be set in the “wide region” of the SMI curve. The grooves located near the “narrow region” and the rotor trailing edge should be avoided. The “narrow region” can be identified by the axial momentum distribution of the tip leakage flow or the circumferentially averaged axial shear stress on the casing using the simulation results of the smooth casing at the near-stall point.

Purpose: Nurses’ musculoskeletal diseases (MSDs) are worldwide prevalent and are considered to be a costly occupational injury. This study aims to investigate the relationship between exposure to occupation-related psychosocial factors, physical workload, and upper body musculoskeletal diseases among hospital nurses. Methods: An electronic search was implemented using nine databases with June 2019 as the latest search date. English and Chinese studies were chosen, and data were independently and separately extracted by two investigators. Pooled odds ratio (OR) and its 95% confidence interval (CI) were estimated for each subset, using the fixed or random-effects model, following heterogeneity between studies for research synthesis. The source of heterogeneity was explored through subgroup, sensitivity, and meta-analyses. Results: Eighteen studies were included in the meta-analysis. Most participants were women (51.4% -100.0%), aged between 20 and 60. A correlation was found between high job demand and the prevalence of low back pain (OR = 1.41; 95% CI = 1.23-1.62). Total job strain was related to the risk of low back pain (OR = 1.71; 95% CI = 1.15-2.55), neck pain (OR = 1.67; 95% CI = 1.26-2.20), shoulder pain (OR = 1.62; 95% CI = 1.06-2.48) and back pain (OR = 1.45; 95% CI = 1.10-1.91). Furthermore, the physical workload was significantly associated with the prevalence of low back pain (OR = 1.76; 95% CI = 1.32-2.35), neck pain (OR = 1.17; 95% CI = 1.08-1.27), shoulder pain (OR = 1.59; 95% CI = 1.37-1.85) and back pain (OR = 1.66; 95% CI = 1.45-1.90). Conclusion: There were significant associations between occupational strain, more physical workload and upper body MSDs, but the evidence advocating a growth risk in MSDs due to low levels of social support is quite weak.

Du, Juan,Singh, Hina,Yang, Jung-Eun,Yin, Chang Shik,Kook, MooChang,Yu, Hongshan,Yi, Tae-Hoo Springer-Verlag 2015 Antonie van Leeuwenhoek Vol.108 No.5

Strain THG-SQA7(T), a Gram-negative, strictly aerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium was isolated from rhizosphere soil of a rose in PR China. Strain THG-SQA7(T) is closely related to the members of the genus Sphingobium, showing the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities with Sphingobium lactosutens KACC 18100(T) (98.2??%) and Sphingobium abikonense KCTC 2864(T) (98.1??%). The DNA-DNA relatedness between strain THG-SQA7(T) and S. lactosutens KACC 18100(T) and S. abikonense KCTC 2864(T) was 26.2??±??0.9 and 28.3??±??1.2??%, respectively. Chemotaxonomic data showed that strain THG-SQA7(T) possesses ubiquinone Q-10 as the predominant respiratory quinone, and C18:1 ??7c, C16:0, summed feature 3 (C16:1 ??7c and/or C16:1 ??6c) and C14:0 2OH as the major fatty acids. The major polar lipids were found to be phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylmonomethylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, sphingoglycolipid, diphosphatidylglycerol and phosphatidyldimethylethanolamine. Based on these results, together with phenotypic characterization, a novel species, Sphingobium soli sp. nov. is proposed.with the type strain is THG-SQA7(T) (=CCTCC AB 2015125(T)??=??KCTC 42607(T)).

Du, Juan,Singh, Hina,Won, KyungHwa,Yang, Jung-Eun,Akter, Shahina,Jin, Feng-Xie,Yi, Tae-Hoo Springer-Verlag 2015 Archives of microbiology Vol.197 No.7

A yellow-colored, Gram-negative, strictly aerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium, designated THG-MM5(T), was isolated from road soil in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea. Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence, strain THG-MM5(T) was moderately related to Sphingomonas sediminicola KACC 15039(T) (96.1?%), Sphingomonas ginsengisoli KACC 16858(T) (96.1?%) and Sphingomonas jaspsi KACC 13230(T) (96.0?%). Chemotaxonomic data revealed that strain THG-MM5(T) possesses ubiquinone-10 as the only respiratory quinone, sym-homospermidine as the major polyamine and summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c and/or C16:1 ω6c), C18:1 ω7c and C16:0 as the major fatty acids. The polar lipid profile included sphingoglycolipid. The DNA G?+?C content was 60.7?mol%. These data, together with phenotypic characterization, corroborated the affiliation of strain THG-MM5(T) to the genus Sphingomonas. Thus, the isolate represents a novel species, for which the name Sphingomonas flavus sp. nov. is proposed, with THG-MM5(T) as the type strain (=KACC 18277(T)?=?CCTCC AB 2014320(T)).
