The reformed bio-diesel fuel irradiated by the ultrasonic wave is applied to the diesel engine of common rail in common use recently. This study has the object to examine the properties of engine performance and discharged materials. The bio-diesel fuel is mixed and used with the diesel fuel in common use at the ratio of 20% or 100%. The ultrasonic energy is irradiated to the individually mixed fuel in order to reform the fuel. This fuel is applied to the engine in this experiment. And It is compared and analyzed from the experimental results with two cases irradiating the ultrasonic wave and no irradiating.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This work proposes the experimental method of using a new matching layer (chemical wood) which can measure the methane gas of the main component in natural gas from a PZT (MS-21) of the most widely using BaTiO<SUB>3</SUB>. The experiment includes a differentiated analysis of envelope voltage, standard Gaussian distribution, acoustic pattern, and energy attenuation in a closed chamber according to an air/methane gas mixture. Experimental devices and methods were used to examine the characteristics of envelope energies via control models and transmission devices using a designed circuit, which could be fitted at resonance points of electrical signal change, frequency change, and pulse change to high sensitive ultrasonic sensors, for energy measurement regarding envelope, pattern, and attenuation. Signal analysis was used to verify the characteristics of transmission signal, voltage, shape, and frequency of the envelope which was measured factually by oscilloscope equipment. The experimental results were verified by a characteristic of acoustic energy whereby an ultrasonic sensor was diffused at minimal side energy from an λ<SUB>2</SUB> sensor, while maintaining a value of <I>θ</I> at a minimum of 0.3 m, 18° and maximum of 1.5 m, 15° from the envelope energy pattern characteristics. Consequently, the matching layer material of general ultrasonic sensors has a significant weakness in not transferring a receiving signal that includes strength, permeability, and directivity of acoustic energy in a gaseous medium.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> An ultrasonic wave sensor is able to measure the envelope signal in an air/methane gas mixture. </LI> <LI> The transmission energy of chemical wood is amplified in an air/methane mixture layer. </LI> <LI> An envelope signal is differentiated algorithmically by a standard Gaussian distribution. </LI> <LI> EVA material with envelope voltage increases the acoustic energy on an ultrasonic sensor face. </LI> </UL> </P>

This study investigates the fatigue life and the damage possibility of connecting rod by the fatigue tool of Ansys workbench. The case of constant fatigue loading variation ‘Sine’ becomes more stable than that of nonconstant loading but the magnitude of constant load becomes larger than that of nonconstant load. Among nonconstant fatigue loads, the case of ‘SAE Bracket History’ which is severest at the variation of load tends to be most unstable. The case of ‘Sample History2’ which becomes a little slow at the variation of load tends to be most stable. The maximum relative damage in case of ‘SAE Bracket History’ is occurred near the average stress ‘0’ and this case can be shown to have the possibility to take more damage than another case.

An object of this study is to confirm the opening amount of the throttle valve that is begun the temperature separation of vortex tube for various engine speed and load condition in a common rail diesel engine. The vortex tube located at downstream of the exhaust manifold is a device separating the incoming exhaust gas to hot and cold stream. To find optimum separation efficiency of vortex tube, the opening amount of throttle valve has been investigated for various engine speed and load conditions. Engine speed was found that the influence of engine speed was dominant compared with that of engine load. As engine speed was increased, the throttle opening amount starting temperature separation was reduced.
Study on Installed Electron Valve in Exhaust System

This is because it is similar to the flow of vehicles in 2,000cc with 4,000rpm. And by making the electrical circuit was closed angle of the electron valve to vary by 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 °, using the camera to measure the angle of the electron valve is closed. Flow of the experimental apparatus used a blower. Electron valve was controlled angle by manufacturing the electric circuit. Measurements were measuring the internal differential pressure using a differential pressure and Flow meter by the electron valve. And the flow was measured using a digital anemometer. The electron valve may be to complement the point of difficulty to studied are mounted within the exhaust system. The electron valve can be seen to influence the flow of fluid depending on the angle it is opened. 커먼레일 디젤기관의 인터쿨러 대체용 볼텍스 튜브 장치의 성능특성에 관한 실험 연구

An object of this study is to confirm performance characteristics of the vortex tube apparatus for substitution of the intercooler in a common-rail diesel engine. The turbo pressure, the intake air flow rate and the ΔTc decrease ratio of the intercooler were measured in a experimental engine. The vortex tube apparatus was made after confirmation of the geometric phenomena in fundamental experiments. To investigate energy separation characteristics of the vortex tube, the measured turbo pressure was applied to the vortex tube inlet and the ΔTc decrease ratio was compared with one of the intercooler in the cold air mass flow ratio similar to the intake air flow rate of the experimental engine. From the results, we found that the energy separation ratio is increased according to of the inlet pressure and the ΔTc decrease ratio of the vortex tube apparatus is higher than one of the intercooler at low engine speed and engine load of medium and low.
