      • Papain 유도 호흡기 염증모델에서 인삼패독산(人蔘敗毒散)의 항염증 효과

        Objectives: Insampaedok-san and its main components have been used for treatment of fever, joint pain, cough, headache and pain. Using a respiratory inflammation model, we intend to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect and its mechanism of Insampaedok-san. Methods: We induced the actue respiratory inflammatory mouse model by papain treatment. BALB/C mice (female, 8 weeks old) were divided into three groups as follows: saline control (SC): papain treated group (vehicle): papain and Insampaedok-san (200mg/kg) treated group (n=4). To demonstrate the ani-inflammatory effect of Insampaedok-san water extracts, inflammatory cell infiltration was evaluated in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and nasal lavage fluid (NALF). In addition, immunogloblin (Ig)-E level was measured by using ELISA. Results: Insampaedok-san extracts administration decreased inflammatory cell infiltration in BALF and NALF. Especially, eosinophil infiltration was dramatically reduced. Furthermore, total Ig-E level was diminished in BALF and serum by Insampaedok-san administration. Conclusions: Our findings revealed Insampaedok-san extracts have anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting inflammatory cell, especially eosinophil infiltration and Ig-E level.

      • 녹동균 세포외막 단백질 백신 CFC-1-101의 안정성 및 면역원성 검토 : 임상 제 Ⅰ/Ⅱa상 시험

        목적 : 제일제당에서는 녹농균의 세포외막 단밸질을 유효성분으로 하는 백신인 CFC-101을 개발하였으며, 동물시험에서 이 백신의 안전성과 유효성을 입증하였다. 본 연구에서는 이 녹농균 백신의 인체에 대한 안전성과 면역원성을 평가하는 동시에 인체 접종시의 최적 투여 용량을 결정하기 위하여 제 I/Ⅱa상 임상시험을 수행하였다. 방법 : 건강한 성인 남자를 피험자로 선별하여 각 용량군에 백신투여자 6명, 위약투여자 2명을 배정하였다. 백신 투여군은 0.25mg, 0.5mg 또는 1.0mg 용량의 녹농균 백신을 7일 간격으로 3회에 걸쳐 근육주사 하였으며, 위약 투여군에게는 세포외막 단백질을 제외한 동일한 성분을 투여하였다. 백신접종 후 국소적 또는 전신적인 반응의 발생여부를 관찰하고, 혈액시료를 체취하여 백신의 역가와 유효성을 검정하였다. 결과 : 녹농균 백신 CFC-101은 모든 접종자에서 양호한 내약성을 보였다. 또한 0.5mg 과 1.0mg 백신 투여군에서는 100%의 항체양전율을 나타내었다. 생성된 항체는 녹농균 세포외막단백질에 특이성을 보였고, 녹농균 감염에 대해 방어효능이 있었다. 결론 : 이와같은 결과로부터 이 녹농균 백신은 인체에 안전하게 투여할 수 있으며, 높은 항체 생성능으로 감염방어 효능을 보이고 0.5mg과 1.0mg이 최적용량인 것으로 판단되었다. Background : We developed a Pseudomonas aeruginosa outer membrane protein(OMP) vaccine CFC-101, and the prophylactic efficacy of which has been demonstrated in animal models. In order to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of the P. aeruginosa vaccine, we carried out a phase I/Ⅱa clinical trial in healthy male volunteers. Methods : Groups of eight volunteers, including two placebo subjects, were vaccinated intramuscularly with three doses of 0.25, 0.5 or 1.0 mg of the vaccine at one week intervals. Sings of systemic and local reactions observed after vaccination were recorded for each vaccinee for 5 days. Physical examinations were performed on days 0, 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, and 42, and clinical laboratory tests were done on days 0, 3, and 21. Blood samples for assay of serum antibody levels were obtained up to 42 days after the first vaccination. Results : The vaccine was generally well tolerated by all vaccinees, showing no significant side effects. In the three dosage groups, all vaccinees, except one receiving the 0.25 mg dose, showed significant elevation in serum IgG antibody titers against the vaccine proteins, indicating 100% seroconversion in 0.5 and 1.0 mg groups. The human antibodies induced by the vaccine were specific for P. aeruginosa OMPs, as confirmed by western blot analysis and immunoprecipitation assays. The capacity of the human antisera to enhance opsonophagocytic killing activity by polymorphonuclear leukocytes and to confer protection against P. aeruginosa infections indicates that the antibodies elicited by the vaccine have protective efficacy. Conclusion : We conclude that the P. aeruginosa OMP vaccine is safe and effective for human use and its optimal dose to be 0.5 or 1.0 mg.

        Ruled Surface로 형성된 임펠러 블레이드 전용 CAD/CAM 시스템 개발 Ⅱ : 5-축 가공에 관한 연구 A Study on the 5-Axis Machining

        This study is continuous with the study 1 (A Study on the Modeling) and the sample impeller of this study is defined by the modeling process of the exclusive CAD/CAM system developed in the study I. And, this study describes a method for the 5-axis machining of impeller blades formed by ruled surface. Therefore, the exclusive CAD/CAM system is the software for modeling and machining of impeller blades. By using the machining method suggested in this study, we could manufacture impeller blades on 5-axis CNC machining center and the machined impeller was very agreeable to the designed impeller. Thus, theories proposed in this study can be very useful for the 5-axis machining of impeller blades.

        Ruled Surface로 형성된 임펠러 블레이드 전용 CAD/CAM 시스템 개발 Ⅰ : 모델링에 관한 연구 A Study on the Modeling

        We have developed the exclusive CAD/CAM system for the machining of impeller blades. This study is about the modeling method for the effective machining of impeller blades formed by ruled surface. As the impeller is consisted of boss part and blade part, the boss is modeled by rotational surface of hub curve on z-axis and the blade is described by ruled-surfaces between hub curve and shroud curve. This modeling process can be carried out on the software developed in this study. And, the developed software can describe the impeller as a solid model through interface with Solid-Works software. The developed software containing the interface method proposed in this study was very effective for impeller modeling.

      • Development of Prototype of a Unmanned Transport Robot for Transport of Construction Materials

        This paper presents the development of prototype Unmanned Transport Robot for application at construction sites. The robot transports construction materials following a pre-configured reference path. Hardware configuration of the Unmanned Transport Robot may be considered in three parts: the tracked vehicle system, the control system, and the multi-sensor system. The control strategy of unmanned transport consists of sensor fusion with an indirect kalman filter for localization, path-tracking, and obstacle avoidance using ultra sonic sensors for safety on the construction site. Then, sensor fusion will combine odometry from encoders and heading angle from the IMU information to guide the robot along the reference path. Finally, we describe experimental results and compare and contrast the use of odometry from encoders alone, and together with heading angle data from the IMU.

      • Outcomes of Laparoscopic Abdominoperineal Resection in Low Rectal Cancer Using Different Pelvic Drainages

        Background: The aim of this study was to establish the feasibility and efficiency of different pelvic drainage routes after laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection (LAPR) for rectal cancer by assessing short-term outcomes. Materials and Methods: Clinicopathological data of 76 patients undergoing LAPR for very low rectal cancer were reviewed retrospectively between June 2005 and June 2014. Outcomes were evaluated considering short-term results. Results: Of 76 relevant patients at our institution in the period of study, trans-perineal drainage of the pelvic cavity was performed in 17 cases. Compared with the trans-perineal group, the length of hospital stay was shorter in the trans-abdominal group, while the duration of drainage and the infection rates of the perineal wounds between two groups showed no significant differences. Conclusions: The outcomes of this study suggest that trans-abdominal drainage of pelvic cavity is a reliable and feasible procedure, the duration of drainage, infection rates and the healing rates of the perineal wounds being acceptable. Trans-abdominal drainage has a more satisfactory effect after laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection for rectal carcinoma.

        한국토종닭 3원 교잡종의 부화 및 육성 능력 (pp.399-404)

        본 시험은 한국토종닭 3원 교잡종의 부화 및 육성 능력을 보고자 수행하였다. 공시계는 국립축산과학원에서 생산된 종란을 인수하여 부화시킨 3원 교잡종 병아리 암컷이다. 4가지 교배 조합으로 생산된 360수의 암평아리들을 3반복으로 반복당 30수씩 완전 임의배치하였다. 4개의 교배 조합은 A) 토착겸용종 C계통×재래종 Y계통×토착겸용종 C계통, B) 토착겸용종 C계통×재래종 L계통×토착겸용종 C계통, C) 토착 겸용종 C계통×재래종 G계통×토착겸용종 C계통, D) 토착겸 용종 C계통×재래종 W계통×토착겸용종 C계통이다. 수정률은 A, B, C 및 D에서 각각 89.8, 91.2, 92.4 및 92.8%였으며, 부화율은 각 계통에서 69.8, 70.7, 75.5 및 77.4%였다. 육성률은 계통간 유의적인 차이가 없었다(P>0.05). 20주령 체중은 B계통에서 높게 나타났으며(P<0.05), 0~20주령까지의 사료 요구율은 4계통에서 유의적인 차이는 없었다(P>0.05). 이런 결과들은 한국토종닭 3원 교잡종의 부화 및 육성 성적에 대한 기초적인 자료로서 이용될 것이라 사료된다. This work was conducted to evaluate the hatching and growing performance of Korean native chicken (KNC) 3 strains crossbred. A total of 360 female pullets were produced from CY × C (A), CL × C (B), CG × C (C) and CW × C (D) crossbred kept in National Institute of Animal Science, Korea. Hatchability of A, B, C and D were 69.8, 70.7, 75.5 and 77.4%, respectively. Livability were not significantly different by 20 weeks among 4 strains. Body weight B was high compared to other strains at 20 weeks. The feed conversion ratio of 4 strains was no significantly different among strains at 20 weeks. These results suggested the basic data that needed to develope the new strains.

        Reconstruction of structured models using incomplete measured data

        The model updating problems, which are to find the optimal approximation to the discrete quadratic model obtained by the finite element method, are critically important to the vibration analysis. In this paper, the structured model updating problem is considered, where the coefficient matrices are required to be symmetric and positive semidefinite, represent the interconnectivity of elements in the physical configuration and minimize the dynamics equations, and furthermore, due to the physical feasibility, the physical parameters should be positive. To the best of our knowledge, the model updating problem involving all these constraints has not been proposed in the existed literature. In this paper, based on the semidefinite programming technique, we design a general-purpose numerical algorithm for solving the structured model updating problems with incomplete measured data and present some numerical results to demonstrate the effectiveness of our method.

        Isolation, Identification, and Performance Studies of a Novel Paraffin-degrading Bacterium of Gordonia amicalis LH3

        In this study, we describe the isolation and identification of a novel long-chain n-alkane degrading strain, Gordonia amicalis LH3. Under aerobic conditions, it utilized approximately 18.0% of paraffin (2% w/v) after 10 day of incubation, and the paraffin compositions of C18C24 alkalines were utilized preferentially. Under anaerobic conditions, paraffin utilization was approximately 1/8 that seen under aerobic conditions, and the compositions of C34 and C36 alkalines were utilized preferentially. The effects of salinity, temperature, and biosurfactants on paraffin degradation were also evaluated. The strain was also demonstrated to grow on oil, and decreased oil viscosity by 44.7% and degraded oil by 10.4% under aerobic conditions. Our results indicated that G. amicalis LH3 has potential applications in paraffin control, microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR), and the bioremediation of hydrocarbon-polluted environments.
