Enhanced photocatalytic performance of novel self-assembled floral β-Ga2O3 nanorods

Self-assembled monoclinic phase of novel floral b-Ga2O3 nanorods were prepared using reflux condensation method by controlled precipitation of metal cations with urea. The structural and morphological properties were investigated by X-ray powder diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and Scanning electron microscope. Single-crystalline nanorods with size 100 nm involved in the selfassembly process to form flowery pattern have diameter w1 mm with surface area 40.8 m2/g confirmed from transmission electron microscope and BrunauereEmmetteTeller analysis. The band gap energy of 4.59 eV was evaluated from the UVevis diffuse reflectance spectrum and the photoluminescence spectrum displayed the characteristic luminescence and blue-light emission peaks. Further, the photocatalytic activity of novel b-Ga2O3 floral nanorods towards the photodegradation of Rhodamine B in aqueous solution under ultra violet light irradiation showed better photocatalytic activity than the commercial photocatalyst Degussa P25 TiO2.

Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), a polyphagous agricultural pest of global importance, harbour diverse bacterial communities in its gut. We analysed the composition and diversity of gut bacteria using Illumina Next-Generation Sequencing of 16S ribosomal RNA amplicons. The data set consisted of 864,813 high-quality paired end sequences with mean length of 150 base pairs. Highly diverse bacterial communities were present in the sample containing approximately 2303 operational taxonomic units (OTUs). A total of 17 bacterial phyla, 34 classes, 84 orders, 173 families, 334 genera, and 707 species were identified from the sequence analysis. Actinobacteria was the most dominant groups, followed by Proteobacteria and Firmicutes. The search on function of different gut inhabiting bacteria of H. armigera revealed their role in nutrition, detoxification of lethal insecticide molecules, and defensive action against pathogens. Insecticidal toxin producing bacterial species were also found associated with the H. armigera gut.
Improve the Performance of a Novel Capacitive Shunt RF MEMS Switch by Beam and Dielectric Materials

This paper deals with design and simulation of RF MEMS Shunt type switch having non-uniform meanders. The device is optimized and done various electromechanical and RF performance analysis in the COMSOL multiphysics and HFSS tools. By varying the thickness of beam, gap and changing the beam materials such as Gold, Copper, Nickel, we done simulation and calculation of spring constant, pull-in voltage, capacitance analysis of the proposed switch. Out of all these different materials, Gold is best by its material properties. The pull-in voltage of proposed switch is 16.9 V, the switch have fast switching time i.e. 1.2 μs. The capacitance analysis like Up state and down state capacitance of the proposed switch is 7.46 fF and1.25 pF. The RF-Performance of the proposed switch exhibits at low frequencies (2–12 GHz). The return and insertion loss are carried out by proposed switch is − 41.55 dB, − 0.0865 dB respectively. The switch having good isolation is − 47.70 dB at 5 GHz. The proposed shunt type switch is used for low frequencies such as microphones, radar and satellite applications.
