Shape optimization of tall buildings is an efficient approach to mitigate wind-induced effects. Several studies have demonstrated the potential of shape modifications to improve the building's aerodynamic properties. On the other hand, it is well-known that the cross-section geometry has a direct impact in the floor area availability and subsequently in the building’s profitability. Hence, it is of interest for the designers to find the balance between these two design criteria that may require contradictory design strategies. This study proposes a surrogate-based multi-objective optimization framework to tackle this design problem. Closed-form equations provided by the Eurocode are used to obtain the wind-induced responses for several wind directions, seeking to develop an industry-oriented approach. CFD-based surrogates emulate the aerodynamic response of the building cross-section, using as input parameters the cross-section geometry and the wind angle of attack. The definition of the building’s modified plan shapes is done adopting the reduced basis approach, advancing the current strategies currently adopted in aerodynamic optimization of civil engineering structures. The multi-objective optimization problem is solved with both the classical weighted Sum Method and the Weighted Min-Max approach, which enables obtaining the complete Pareto front in both convex and non-convex regions. Two application examples are presented in this study to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed strategy, which permits the identification of Pareto optima from which the designer can choose the most adequate design balancing profitability and occupant comfort.

The process of constructing an image such as in the action of collective memory allows the formation of images, linguistic expression, and processes of identity that leave their mark over the time. The narrative organization of a story adapts the corporeal visual unit to the distinct expressive substances and to the structural possibilities of the stories in their adaptation from literature to film and to telenovelas (soap opera). In each adaptation, changes are made where the intertextuality and the intersemiotics act as strategies in the interpretive cooperation of the receptor, using complex visual processes. The body emerges as a part of a semiotic material available to narrate the events and it becomes the principal organizer of the meaning. The body is the instrument and the means at the same time. The meanings of the concept of bodyness and the semantics matrixes are manifested in television fiction and are identifiable due to a semiotic analysis of the story. In this way we observe that it refers to a condition present in the body that permits the identification as part of a process of perception.

The integration of efficient information-based systems characterizes one of the vital priorities of an Italian regional healthcare environment to meet its clinical, organizational, and managerial needs, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. The current study proposes that the most likely approach to achieve an Italian regional healthcare system is to use a health level-7-based interoperable communication system implemented by an asynchronous communication infrastructure between healthcare sites. The proposed framework is a comprehensive and integrated management information systems (MIS) centered coordination at an Italian regional level that includes all categories of healthcare levels, including the interoperability concerns; that covers most of the needed elements and can work efficiently and effectively in a vast secure area network to safeguard data privacy and confidentiality of a local the patient. Another essential feature of the proposed framework system solution is that it creates interoperability and compatibility that can be simulated from one healthcare institution to another inside the Italian healthcare environment. In that case, joint interoperability and system-compatible messages can interrelate heterogeneous management-based information systems. In response to the COVID-19 situation in Italy, more than 50 different consortiums have submitted proposals directly to the Italian Government. It is believed that the proposed interoperability framework seems to be widely considered an acceptable solution to enhance information and communication technologies (ICT) developments in the healthcare sector in Italy. Furthermore, this study identifies some flaws inside the Italian healthcare sector with possible elucidations for further research.

<P><B>Starre π‐konjugierte Brücken</B> wie die Ethinylgruppe sind geeignet, um das π‐System eines Phthalocyanins effektiv an das Leitungsband von TiO<SUB>2</SUB> zu koppeln. Eine Reihe von Zinkphthalocyanin‐Photosensibilisatoren mit Carboxyethinyl‐Ankergruppen wurde synthetisiert. Solarzellen, die mit der gezeigten Verbindung sensibilisiert wurden, zeigten Wirkungsgrade von 5.5 % und 6.1 % unter 100 (1 sun) bzw. 9.5 mW cm<SUP>−2</SUP>.</P>

<P>The water-soluble polymers poly(styrene sulfonic acid-co-maleic acid) and poly(acrylic acid-co-maleic acid) were investigated with respect to their metal-ion-binding ability with ultrafiltration. The studied metal ions included Ag(I), Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Ca(II), Mg(II), Pb(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), Al(III), and Cr(III) ions. The retention properties of the polyelectrolytes for the metal ions depended strongly on the ligand type. Removal of textile dyes in wastewater using polyelectrolytes containing tetrazole groups

Textile dyes are some of the pollutants which have received the most attention because of the large volume of wastewater generated by the textile industry. Removal by means of adsorption is one of the most versatile alternatives to treat these effluents. Even though different adsorbents such as activated carbons and mineral materials have been proposed, polymeric adsorbents are a viable alternative. This work reports for the first time the use of polyelectrolyte PTZ and macroelectrolyte MTZ containing tetrazole groups as adsorbents useful in the textile dyes removal present in aqueous solutions and wastewater. Because of the anionic character of the tetrazole group, MTZ exhibits selective adsorption capabilities for cationic dyes of up to 156.25mg·g1. The kinetic study of the process of adsorption shows that PTZ and MTZ fit a pseudo second-order model. MTZ also shows utility as a flocculant agent in the treatment of wastewater containing dyes Indigo Blue and Reactive Black. The results showed that PTZ and MTZ may be used in the treatment of wastewater in a process of coagulation-flocculation followed by the treatment by adsorption. This twostage treatment removed up to 95% of the dye present in the wastewater. As well as removing the dyes, the values for COD, suspended solids, pH, and color of the wastewater decreased, thus significantly improving its quality.
