<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this study, the isothermal and cyclic corrosion behaviors of custom-made nickel-based alloys (N105, N107, and N108) with various elemental compositions in a LiCl-Li<SUB>2</SUB>O molten salt were investigated at 650 °C in argon atmosphere. The isothermal and cyclic corrosion behaviors were studied by measuring the mass changes, surface morphologies, cross-sectional morphologies with elemental distribution, and the compositional changes of the subscale and substrate as well as the spalled oxide scale. Under the isothermal and cyclic corrosion test, the corrosion rate was in the order of N108 < N105 < N107, and N107 < N105 < N108, respectively, which depended on the morphology and structure of the crystals formed on the surface of the outer scale in contact with the molten salt, and was also related to the region of Al and Cr depletion. After the isothermal corrosion test, the hot corrosion products formed in N105 were Cr<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>, NiCr<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB>, and Li<SUB>2</SUB>Ni<SUB>8</SUB>O<SUB>10</SUB> and those in N107 were Cr<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> and NiCr<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB>, while Cr<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>, NiCr<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB>, and LiTiO<SUB>2</SUB> were identified as the hot corrosion products of N108. However, the hot corrosion products of N105, N107, and N108 were Cr<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB>, NiCr<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>4</SUB>, and LiFeO<SUB>2</SUB> after the cyclic corrosion test.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Corrosion mechanism of Ni based alloys in LiCl-Li<SUB>2</SUB>O molten salt is proposed. </LI> <LI> Layered oxide layers enhance cyclic corrosion resistance. </LI> <LI> Cr and Al contents are most important on the corrosion kinetics. </LI> </UL> </P>

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of partially substituting meat meal for fish meal on the growth and body composition of juvenile olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus during the winter season. Twenty-five fish (initial body weight, 23 g) were distributed into twelve 250 L flow-through tanks. Four experimental diets were prepared in triplicate: the control, MM20, MM40, and MM60 diets. Sixty percent mackerel meal was used as the primary protein source in the control diet. Meat meal was substituted for 20, 40, and 60$\%$ of the mackerel meal in the MM20, MM40, and MM60 diets, respectively. Survival was not significantly affected by the experimental diets. However, the weight gain and specific growth rate of fish fed the control, MM20, and MM40 diets were significantly higher than those of fish fed the MM60 diet (P<0.05). The feed efficiency ratio of fish fed the control, MM20, and MM40 diets was significantly higher than that of fish fed the MM60 diet (P<0.05). The protein efficiency ratio for fish fed the control diet was significantly higher than that for fish fed the MM40 and MM60 diets (P<p0.05). Moisture, crude protein, crude lipid, and ash content, and blood chemistry of the flounder at the end of the feeding trial were unaffected by the experimental diets. Considering these results, it can be concluded that up to 40$\%$ substitution of meat meal for fish meal in the diet could be implemented without a reduction in growth or deterioration of the feed efficiency of juvenile olive flounder during the winter season.

The wrong posture will reduce the balance of the efficiency and muscles of the body, giving a lot of stress to the various parts of the body. In order to correct the wrong posture, appropriate exercise management is necessary. In this paper, posture evaluation is carried out based on ideal placement of human anatomy, and analysis of muscular condition which becomes the cause of posture abnormality with a customized exercise program that we developed. Also, we designed a posture monitoring system that can execute appropriate exercise program even at home. This system is interlocked with web cameras, providing comparative analysis of the user"s real-time exercise posture and correct exercise posture, the administrator confirms the appearance of exercise and support continuous calibration and feedback with a smart home care system.

Human psychovisual phenomena involved in extracting features is more sensitive in dark regions than in bright regions Therefore, feature extracting operators should be considered local intensities in order to perceive objects analogous to human vision system. Generally, conventional feature extracting operators have some handicaps like an computational complexity or multivariable needs. In this paper a novel feature extracting operator is proposed to overcome these demerits. This operator could be implemented very simply and be proved good performances through experiments applied to synthetic and real images. 인간의 시각현상은 밝은 영역보다 어두운 영역의 특징점 추출에 더 민감하다. 그러므로 특징점 추출 연산자는 인간의 시각체계와 유사하게 물체를 인식하기 위해 국부적인 밝기를 고려해야 한다. 일반적으로 지금까지의 특징점 추출 연산자는 계산량이 많거나 다변수를 이용해야 하는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 극복하는 새로운연산자가 제안된다. 이 연산자는 실현이 매우 간단할 뿐만 아니라 합성영상과 실영상에 적용한 결과 우수한 성능을 나타내었다.
Genetic alterations of the KLF6 gene in gastric cancer

The KLF6 is a zinc-finger tumor suppressor that is frequently mutated in several human cancers and broadly involved in differentiation and development, growth-related signal transduction, cell proliferation, apoptosis, and angiogenesis. To determine whether genetic alterations of KLF6 gene are involved in the development and/or progression of gastric cancer, we have screened a set of 80 sporadic gastric cancers for mutations and allele loss of the KLF6 gene. Four missense mutations, S155R, P172 T, S180L, and R198 K, were detected in transactivation domain of the KLF6 gene and one of them had biallelic mutations with somatic mutation of one allele and loss of the remaining allele. All of the cases with mutation were of advanced intestinal-type gastric cancer with lymph node metastasis. In addition, 16 (43.2%) of 37 informative cases showed allelic loss at KLF6 locus. Interestingly, allelic loss was also frequent in intestinal-type gastric cancer. Therefore, our data suggest that genetic alterations of KLF6 gene might play an important role in the development or progression of sporadic gastric cancers.Oncogene (2005) 24, 4588–4590. doi:10.1038/sj.onc.1208670 Published online 11 April 2005
Hot corrosion behavior of magnesia-stabilized ceramic material in a lithium molten salt

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The isothermal and cyclic corrosion behaviors of magnesia-stabilized zirconia in a LiCl-Li<SUB>2</SUB>O molten salt were investigated at 650 °C in an argon atmosphere. The weights of as-received and corroded specimens were measured and the microstructures, morphologies, and chemical compositions were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. For processes where Li is formed at the cathode during electrolysis, the corrosion rate was about five times higher than those of isothermal and thermal cycling processes. During isothermal tests, the corrosion product Li<SUB>2</SUB>ZrO<SUB>3</SUB> was formed after 216 h. During thermal cycling, Li<SUB>2</SUB>ZrO<SUB>3</SUB> was not detected until after the completion of 14 cycles. There was no evidence of cracks, pores, or spallation on the corroded surfaces, except when Li was formed. We demonstrate that magnesia-stabilized zirconia is beneficial for increasing the hot corrosion resistance of structural materials subjected to high temperature molten salts containing Li<SUB>2</SUB>O.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Corrosion mechanism of MSZin LiCl-Li<SUB>2</SUB>O molten salt is proposed. </LI> <LI> Formation of Li<SUB>2</SUB>ZrO<SUB>3</SUB>is main corrosion mechanism. </LI> <LI> There were no cracks, pores and spallation after corrosion test. </LI> <LI> MSZ shows high corrosion resistance to LiCl-Li<SUB>2</SUB>O molten salt. </LI> </UL> </P>
Metastatic Thymoma of the Breast

Breast metastasis from nonmammary malignant neoplasms is uncommon, and it accounts for approximately 2% of all breast tumors. Distant metastasis of thymoma is very rare, and especially to extrathorcic areas. We report a female who had a metastatic thymoma in her breast 20 years after undergoing resection for a non-invasive thymoma. She presented with a palpable mass in her left breast. Mammography and ultrasonogram showed a lobular mass at the anterior glandular portion. Histological examination after surgical excision revealed a metastatic thymoma.

<P>We evaluate a Li+/Li polarized dynamic reference electrode (p-Dyn RE) and an O-2/O(2)(-)p-Dyn RE for 650. C LiCl-1 wt% Li2O molten salt. These Dyn REs are non-equilibrium, polarized reference electrodes whose potential deviates from their standard reduction potential by the overpotential for the continuous current flow on the reference electrode. The potential dependency of the Li+/Li and O-2/O(2)(-)p-Dyn REs on the applied current was examined in comparison with the theoretical behavior. While the Li+/Li p-Dyn RE exhibited potential instability due to the surface change on the Li-generating electrode, the O-2/O(2)(-)p-Dyn RE showed the reliable stability and it could be successfully employed in the LiCl-1 wt% Li2O molten salt electrochemical cell for UO2 reduction.
