        Pilomatricoma was histopathologically diagnosed in a 2.5-year-old male Alaskan malamute. The patient was referred to Chungnam National University, Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital with solitary, firm and well-circumscribed mass at shoulder. Grossly, the mass was dome shaped to tumor like and 10 x 8 x 5㎝ in size. Some lesions had gritty or bony consistency and was chalky when sectioned Histopathologic feature included mumerous clusters of tightly arranged, basaloid cells with evenly distributed chromatin and ghost cells were characterized by a central unstained zone. The ghost cells often become calcified and osseous metaplasia was also present.

        The porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus was inoculated into swine tracheal organ culture. The ballooning degeneration of the tracheal ciliated epithelium and a decrease of ciliary activity from the tracheal organs infected with PRRS virus were observed one day post-infection(PI). Tracheal epithelium showed degeneration and focal necrosis 2 days PI. Epithelial necrosis and loss of cilia and epithelial cells became more severe 3 and 4 days PI. An entire loss of cilia and epithelial cells were recognized 4 days PI, however, control tracheal organs were normal during the period of the experiment except a little decrease of ciliary activities with time..

        In this study the antimicrobial spectrum and sensitivity of a liquid formulation of enrofloxacin against the major six pathogenic bacteria isolated from the diseased poultry in Korea were evaluated in comparison with ciprfloxacin (CFX), gentamicin (GM) and penicillin (PC). A liquid form of enrofloxacin, a test material and ciprofloxacin showed at least 83% antibacterial activity against all of six test pathogenic microorganisms at the fixed concentration of 10 ㎍/㎖. Gentamicin and penicillin revealed much lower antibacterial activity at the same condition. We evaluated the liquid form of enrofloxacin as having widespread antibacterial spectrum against poultry infections. The liquid form of enrofloxacin showed potent antibacterial activity, with the MIC range being 0.12∼2 ㎍/㎖ against Gram positives, 0.06∼2 ㎍/㎖ against Gram negatives and 0.5∼2 ㎍/㎖ against Mycoplasma spp. These values were equivalent to or somewhat higher than those of ciprofloxacin, but much lower than those of gentamicn and penicillin. This new liquid form of enrofloxacin would find its way in application of mixing with drinking water for the prevention and treatment of diverse infections in chickens.

      • TDNN을 이용한 음악 장르 분류

        This paper proposes a music genre classifier using Time Delay Neural Network(TDNN). The classifier will be used as a basic engine for an audio data retrieval system and considers eight kinds of genres such as Blues, Country, Hard Core, Hard Rock, Jazz, R&B(Soul), Techno and Trash Metal. Training pattern for the TDNN classifier is Fourier transformed frequency feature vector extracted from one unit of audio data. The unit is data between bars and the starting point of the bar is calculated using a rule based system. We experimented the classifier on eighty training data from ten musics for each genres and forty test data from five musics for each genres, and obtained correct classification rates of 92.5% and 60%, respectively. This result suggests that the proposed classifier has the possibility of a practical use for a content based audio retrieval system on the Web.

        In thesis, I would know which roof tiles with large-sized paddle-beat pattern of Silla period were produced in Gyeongju area. Up until today, On the basis of the excavated roof tiles in Gyeongju area, Those were not produced. And yet, Roof tiles with large-sized paddle-beat pattern of Goguryo period(高句麗時代) Sites and Backje(百濟時代) were excavated : Horogoru Castle(瓠蘆古壘), the Mireucksa Temple(彌勒寺). Also, Roof tiles with large-sized paddle-beat pattern of Unified Silla period(統一新羅時代) were manufactured in the province : Busosan Castle(扶蘇山城), Huengduck Temple(興德寺), while Roof tiles with large-sized paddle-beat pattern were not likely to produce those in the capital unifid Silla of Gyeongju area. The reason why roof tiles with large-sized paddle-beat pattern of Silla period was not produced in Gyeongju area seem to be caused manufacturing technique. And The reason why roof tiles with large-sized paddle-beat pattern of Unified Silla period was not produced in Gyeongju area could be call in the three questions. - Why is it that, while roof tiles manufacturing technic in Backje period has development workman of Silla was not to take in Backje of manufacturing technique? And, Why ever did roof tiles with medium-sized paddle-beat pattern of new manufacturing technic produce. - Roof tiles with large-sized paddle-beat pattern of Unified Silla period were not produced in Gyeongju area whether that is caused by manufacturing technique which is inferior to the roof tiles of manufacturing technique in the province. - We must make clear whoever is man who manufacture roof tiles with large-sized paddle-beat pattern, whether those are related to spread out zen Buddhim(禪宗). Henceforth a few korean archaeologists have to very interest roof tiles with large-sized paddle-beat pattern of Silla period in the Sites of the bulidings in Gyeongju area. And I expect to have been report roof tiles with large-sized paddle-beat pattern of Backje Kingdom in the Sites of the Backie bulidings.

        Primary systemic amyloidosis (AL amyloidosis) is an uncommon disease characterized by the accumulation in vital organs of a fibrillar protein consisting of monoclonal immunoglobulin light chains. It is a plasma cell dyscrasia usually accompanied by a bone marrow plasmacytosis and an M component in the serum or urine. The presenting features of AL amyloidosis are protean and frequently nonspecific, but the diagnosis is rarely made until symptoms or signs referable to a particular organ appear. The amyloid deposits cause cardiac or renal dysfunction and, ultimately, death. We report a case of AL amyloidosis, presented with unexplained diarrhea and abdominal pain for eight months, documented by a renal biopsy, and review the previous literatures

      • 활성화 항원 CD30의 발현과 그 기능

        CD30 is a member of the tumour necrosis factor receptor(TNFR) superfamily, and was originally recognized on Reed-Sternberg cells of Hodgkin's disease and, subsequently, on neoplastic cells of non-Hodgkin's disease and normal activated T, B, NK cells and macrophages. Several studies on CD30 expression of malignant cells suggest that CD30 may define relevant subgroups within the main tumor or lymphoma categories. Despite many controversial reports, it is noteworthy that CD30 is expressed solely on Th2 cells but not on Th1 cells after complete differentiation, because, so far, any specific markers of Thl or Th2 cells have not been demonstrated. Expression and its maintenance of CD30 is also dependent upon IL 4 which is a pivotal cytokine for Th2 differentiation and downregulated by FNv, a Thl type cytokine. These observations implicate that CD30 may regulate Th2 cell differentiation or proliferation. At the clonal level, CD30 was revealed to promote Th2 differentiation. Various functions of CD30 from in vitro studies have been described: induction of cell proliferation, apoptosis and cytokine production, inhibition of cell cytotoxicity, enhancement of B cell growth and Ig secretion, induction of NF-KB activation and induction of HIV expression in chronically infected T cells. Although the function of CD30 in vivo is largely unknown, several exciting findings are emerging from recent studies. Mice deficient in CD30 showed a mild impairment in thymic negative selection. Recently, it has been suggested that CD30 protects the body from autoimmunity by limiting the proliferative potential of autoreactive cytotoxic T cells. Taken together, CD30 studies may provide important knowledge for elucidation of the immunopathogenesis of and development of therapeutic regimen of AIDS, autoimmunity and other Th2-related diseases.
