Florid cemento-osseous dysplasia is a benign fibro-osseous lesion that characteristically affects the jaws of middle-aged women. It usually manifests as multiple sclerotic cementum-like masses with radiolucent border, distributed throughout the jaws. This paper presents a case of an uncomplicated florid cemento-osseous dysplasia in a fifty-year-old Indian woman. All clinical, radiographic, biochemical investigations were suggestive of the diagnosis of florid cemento-osseous dysplasia. Management involved regular recall examinations, with prophylaxis and reinforcement of good home hygiene care to control periodontal disease and prevent tooth loss.
Root Supported Overdenture for Special Needs Geriatric Patients: Case Reports

Prosthetic treatment with overdenture therapy is widely employed for rehabilitation of elderly patients. The root supported overdenture provides the patient with greater retention, stability and improved masticatory function and esthetics. The aim of this article was to present two case reports where root supported overdentures were fabricated in elderly patients who had difficulty in seating their overdentures and had high retentive and esthetic demands. The self aligning root locator attachment was utilized for two patients with special needs and demands. The treatment revealed a feasible option for patients with economic circumstances that preclude implant therapy. Both patients were quite satisfied with the retention and functional stability of their delivered dentures. By respecting the high expectations and compromised oral health status of two older patients, a conservative low maintenance and easy to insert self-aligning locator attachment was attached to the denture prostheses, which permitted the patients to function with minimum postoperative care.

The protective effects of milk and milk products against dental caries, due to micellar casein or caseinopeptide derivatives, have been demonstrated in various animal and human in situ studies. Among all the remineralising agents, casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) technology has shown the most promising scientific evidence to support its use in prevention and reversal of carious lesions. CPP-ACP complex acts as a calcium phosphate reservoir and buffer the activities of free calcium and phosphate ions in the plaque. Calcium phosphate stabilized by CPP produces a metastable solution supersaturated with respect to the amorphous and crystalline calcium phosphate phases, thereby depressing enamel demineralisation and enhancing mineralisation. CPP-ACP provides new avenue for the remineralisation of noncavitated caries lesions. The objective of this article was to review the clinical trials of CPP-ACP complex and highlight its evidence based applications in dentistry.

Primary small cell carcinoma of urinary bladder is a rare but aggressive disease with poor prognosis and a high mortality rate. It accounts for less than 1 % of all the primary cancers seen in the urinary bladder. Diagnosis and management of this entity poses a challenge to the clinician due to the lack of a standardized protocol for its treatment. Herein we discuss primary small cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder in its entirety.
Chronic Heavy Metal Exposure and Gallbladder Cancer Risk in India, a Comparative Study with Japan

Background: High incidence of gallbladder cancer (GBC) is reported from North India, with elevated concentrations of heavy metals in water and soil. This Indo-Japan collaborative study compared presence of heavy metals in gallbladder tissues. Methods: Heavy metal concentrations were estimated in Indian GBC and cholecystitis tissues and compared with Japanese GBC and cholecystitis tissues. Spectrophotometry was done for 13 Indian gallbladder tissues (8 GBC, 5 cholecystitis) and 9 Japanese (5 GBC, 4 cholecystitis). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) thin foil element analysis was done in 10 Indian samples (6 GBC, 4 cholecystitis). Results: Chromium, lead, arsenic and zinc were significantly high in Indian GBC compared with Japanese GBC. Chromium, lead and arsenic were significantly high in the Indian cholecystitis tissues compared to the Japanese. TEM of Indian tissues demonstrated electron dense deposits in GBC. Conclusion: Heavy metals-chromium, lead, arsenic and zinc are potential carcinogens in Indian GBC from endemic areas. This preliminary study links presence of heavy metals in gallbladder cancer tissues in endemic areas.

Jain and Saraswat (2012) introduced new generalized f-information divergence measure, by which we obtained many well known and new information divergences. In this work, we introduce new information inequalities in absolute form on this new generalized divergence by considering convex normalized functions. Further, we apply these inequalities for getting new relations among well known divergences, together with numerical verification. Application to the Mutual information is also presented. Asymptotic approximation in terms of Chi- square divergence is done as well.

Backgrounds/Aims: Post-operative pancreatic fistulas (POPF) and fluid collections (POPFC) remain significant sources of morbidity and mortality after pancreatic resections. There remains a paucity of literature describing endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) guided drainage of POPFC using a Hot AXIOS<SUP>TM</SUP> lumen apposing metal stent (LAMS). Methods: We conducted a retrospective study, encompassing all consecutive patients with POPFC managed using Hot AXIOS<SUP>TM</SUP> LAMS at our institution between January 2017 and December 2019. Primary outcome measures were technical and clinical success. Secondary outcome measures were adverse events and recurrence rates. Results: Five patients underwent EUS guided drainage using Hot AXIOSTM LAMS during the study period. Mean age of patients was 67.8 ± 2.16 years. The majority (60.0%) of patients were males. Median duration of symptom onset after surgery was 9 days. All patients presented with abdominal pain. Median size of the collection measured on computed tomography was 91 mm. Median interval time between symptom onset and EUS drainage was 30 days. Two patients required percutaneous drainage prior to EUS guided drainage. Technical and clinical success were achieved for all patients. No adverse events were observed. Median duration of follow-up was 90 days. No recurrence of collection occurred during the follow-up period. Conclusions: EUS guided drainage of POPFC using Hot AXIOS<SUP>TM</SUP> LAMS is a safe and effective treatment modality with technical and clinical success rates of 100% in our experience.
