Trapidil determines the fate of RHF rats through inhibition of ER stress

Pulmonary arterial hypertension is a fatal disease,especially when it causes right heart failure (RHF). However, it is difficult to treat. It has been reported thattrapidil (Tra) can improve the redox balance and cardiacconditions. In this study, we investigated the effect of Tra onRHF induced by monocrotaline (MCT) in rats. Male Wistarrats were treated with MCT or Tra. Treatment lasted 28 days,then rats were euthanized after echocardiography and catheterization. Subsequently, lungs and right ventricular myocardiawere evaluated by hematoxylin and eosin, Masson,and TUNEL staining. Protein expression was detected bywestern blotting. We found remarkably expanded rightventricle end-diastolic volume, decreased partial pressureof oxygen (PaO2), increased partial pressure of carbondioxide (PaCO2), right ventricular systolic pressure, meanpulmonary arterial pressure, lung/body weight, and liver/body weight in the RHF rat group, as well as increases inthe apoptosis rate and the expression of endoplasmic reticulumstress (ERS)-related proteins. However, these changes were significantly inhibited by Tra. Our data suggested thatinhibition of ERS is essential for improving RHF, and thattherapeutic intervention of Tra in RHF rats works by reducingERS.
Fuzzy Adaptive Finite Time Command Filter Backstepping Control of Power System

In this article, an adaptive fuzzy finite time command filter control scheme is first proposed for a single machine infinite power system with static VAR compensator (SVC). The unknown external interference is taken into account in the controller design, and the incomplete single machine infinite SVC power system is formulated in terms of fuzzy logic system. The devised adaptive backstepping control scheme employs command filter technology and finite time control theory. Further more, it is proven that the designed controller ensures the rotor power angle in the power system converge to the expected value and all variables of the control systems are semi-global practical finite-time stable (SGPFS). Finally, simulation results are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

Three types of Ni8W/Ni12W/Ni8W composite substrates with strong cube texture, high yield strength, and low magnetizationwere produced by heavy cold rolling and annealing processes. The three types of composite substrates have the same thickness,but the ratios of thickness between Ni–8 at%W and Ni–12 at%W layer are different. The contents of tungsten exceed9.3 at%, 10 at%, and 10.3 at% in the three types of obtained substrates. The presence of Ni alloys with higher W content inthe Ni–12 at%W of the three composite substrates strongly enhanced the mechanical properties with about 290, 300 and315 MPa respectively, and decreased the ferromagnetic behavior of the whole substrates. Additionally, it was found that anarea that enhances cubic nucleation and growth in the Ni8W layer of composite substrates.
