Three-dimensional sound is a technique for generating or recreating sounds so they are perceived as emanating from locations in a three-dimensional space. Three dimensional sound has the potential of increasing the feeling of realism in music or movie soundtracks. Three-dimensional sound effects depend on psychoacoustic spectral and phase cues being presented in a reproduced signal. In this paper we propose an effective algorithm for the sound image expansion in television system using stereo image enhancement techniques. In this algorithm, a lower frequency band sound is expanded by phase control and a higher frequency band sound is expanded by cross-talk cancelation. Compared to the other techniques of three-dimensional sound, the proposed algorithm use only two speakers to enhance the sound image expansion, while maintaining the original sound characteristics.
인간 시각 특성을 고려한 DTV 비디오 테스트 패턴 연구

For DTV development and testing, we propose composite a video test pattern considering human visual characteristics and compress to stream. In this paper, we use the SMPTE 274M for video input format. And we compose verity analog video test pattern and develop digital video test pattern. We propose MPEG-2 MP@HL compression algorithm for proposed still picture sequence maintaining above 40dB picture quality. Finally we test several DTV using proposed video test pattern.
균일한 색 변화를 위한 밝기 사상과 최대 채도 재현을 위한 색역사상

In this paper, luminance mapping for uniform color distribution and gamut mapping for maximum chroma reproduction are proposed. In the conventional lightness mapping, the average lightness difference between the two gamut is increased and different color changes in bright and dark regions are also increased. TO solve these problems, a lightness mapping is proposed that minimizes the lightness difference of the cusps at each hue angle and produces same color changes in bright and dark regions. Also, chroma mapping that utilize variable anchor point and an anchor point are proposed for maximum chroma reproduction and uniform color change. The proposed algorithm reduce a sudden color change on the gamut boundary of the printer and to maintain a uniform color change during the mapping process. Accordingly, the proposed algorithm can reproduce high quality images with low-cost color devices.

The flaws detected at the steam generator tube of the Nuclear Power Plant are the wear indications by anti-vibration bars and circumferential cracks at the top of the tubesheet. It is easy to detect and size wear indications. Also the wear indications are commonly found at the steam generator tubes. However, the steam generator tube which includes crack indication is plugged because it is very difficult to predict the growth rate and the sizing error is high. The motorized rotating pancake coil has been used for the detection of circumferential crack since it is not possible to detect using the conventional bobbin probe. This paper describes the characteristics for the circumferential crack at the steam generator tubes of the Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plants.

Owing to frequent heavy rain due to abnormal weather, the occurrence of pepper anthracnose has recently increased, which affects the supply and demand of pepper. As a result, the price of red pepper powder in 2011, for example, increased three times compared to the average year. Although anthracnose of pepper plants has been controlled by fungicides until now, it is important to develop new resistant cultivars because of the reduction of the labor force in rural area and occurrence of new anthracnose strains resistant to fungicides. National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science developed two pepper lines, ‘Wonye 100005’ and ‘Wonye 100006’ that are resistant to pepper anthracnose. These lines were developed by continuous selection of progenies from a cross between ‘Wonye AR1’, which were developed from interspecific hybridization and ‘TF68’. The anthracnose resistance level of the two lines was higher than that of commercial cultivars and similar to check varieties showing highest level of anthracnose resistance.
보안성향상과 네트워크 부하감소를 위한 Jini 기반 SNMP 시스템 설계 및 구현

Web-based SNMP and CORBA-based SNMP have been studied as a standard of network management technology in distributed environment. Jini can be used to build robust and reliable networks without modification to any platforms as network plug & play protocol. In this paper, we design and implement Jini-based SNMP system. This system has manager, agent, and lookup service, and communicates each other via Java RMI. The manager supervises networks by user interface component, the agent takes a various task of network management, and the lookup service links manager to agents dynamically. Security and portability are enhanced using JAVA, and communication overheads can be decreased by excluding pollings of servers.
NK/T 세포 림프종 환자에서 시행된 비골수제거성 조혈모세포이식

저자 등은 맹장, 충수돌기 및 흉막을 침범한 고위험군 NK/T 세포 림프종 환자에서 비골수제거 조혈모세포이식을 시행한 후 이식연관 합병증 없이 무병생존하였기에 보고하는 바이다. NK/T cell lymphoma is a rare type of non-Hodgkin"s lymphomas. It has the histological features of angiocentric lymphoma characterized by prominent angio-invasion by tumor cells, and commonly presents in nasal and paranasal structures. Non-nasal form of NK/T cell lymphoma involves skin, gastrointestinal tract, or liver. With conventional chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, NK/T cell lymphoma shows poor response rate and seldom results in long term survival. Especially, non-nasal form has more aggressive clinical manifestations and grave outcome than nasal form. We report a case of NK/T cell lymphoma presenting with small bowel perforation and malignant pleural effusion due to lymphoma infiltration, transplanted with allogeneic peripheral blood stem cells from HLA identical sibling donor after fludarabine-based nonmyeloablative chemotherapy. After transplantation, the patient achieved an enduring tri-lineage hematological complete response without any evidence of relapse for 10 months.
Octaband Internal Antenna for 4G Mobile Handset

<P>A compact internal antenna that is composed of a coupled loop with two branch lines is presented. The proposed antenna operates at two wide frequency bands (698 ~ 960 MHz/1710 ~ 2690 MHz) to cover octabands LTE 700/GSM 850/GSM 900/DCS 1800/PCS 1900/WCDMA 2100/LTE 2300/LTE 2500 for the 4G mobile handset. The proposed antenna is designed and fabricated on a support (polyester; ε<SUB>r</SUB>=3.2) with a limited volume, i.e., 7×11×46 mm<SUP>3</SUP>. The design methods and the measured results of the proposed antenna are presented in detail.</P>

<P>Radar is a powerful tool for detecting and tracking airborne targets by day and night. Nowadays, noncooperative target recognition (NCTR) is considered an important subject. NCTR means technologies provide high-resolution target signatures and use them to make some decisions about the type of target that has been detected. Clearly, this function is performed with no cooperation from the target concerned, and it may even not be aware that its signature is being measured for recognition purposes [1]. Jet engine modulation (JEM) [2]-[4] generated by the engine rotation in an aircraft has been used for radar-based NCTR purposes, along with high-resolution range profile and inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) [5]-[7]. Recognition by JEM uses micro-Doppler features induced by a rotating jet engine compressor. The micro-Doppler is characterized by a time-dependent Doppler shift that is different from that caused by the target bulk motion.</P>
