Steel scale-CaO composite catalyst for coke combustion and in-situ NO and SO2 removal

        Li Zhang,Jingchong Yan,Zhiping Lei,Xianzhong Cao,Tiejun Chun,Zhanku Li,Hengfu Shui,Shibiao Ren,Zhicai Wang,Ying Kong 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.110 No.-

The performance of the steel scale (SS)-CaO composite on the combustion of coke nuts and in-situ reductionof SO2 and NO emission was investigated. Combustion experiments show that SS-CaO compositeaccelerates coke combustion and reduces SO2 and NO emissions concurrently. X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and electron spin resonance (ESR) were used to investigate thecatalysis mechanism. Results show that SS and CaO have synergistic effect in in-situ denitration. Theincrease of SS and CaO fraction in the composites improve the denitration and sulfur fixation performance, respectively. The denitration activity is mainly attributed to the Fe2O3 in SS and Ca2Fe2O5 formedduring combustion. The desulfurization is due to the sulfur fixation with CaO. The increasing fraction ofCaO in the composites leads to the agglomeration of ash particles. 2%CaO is confirmed as the optimumaddition for catalytic combustion and emission reduction. This work sheds light on the cheap and effectivecatalysts that are potentially useful for iron ore sintering.

      • Clinical Observations on Associations Between the UGT1A1 Genotype and Severe Toxicity of Irinotecan

Lu, Yan-Yan,Huang, Xin-En,Wu, Xue-Yan,Cao, Jie,Liu, Jin,Wang, Lin,Xiang, Jin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.7

Background: Severe toxicity is commonly observed in cancer patients receiving irinotecan (CPT-11) UDPglucuronosyltransferase1A1 (UGT1A1) catalyzes the glucuronidation of the active metabolite SN-38 but the relationship between UGT1A1 and severe toxicity remains unclear. Our study aimed to assess this point to guide clinical use of CPT-11. Materials and Methods: 89 cancer patients with advanced disease received CPT-11-based chemotherapy for at least two cycles. Toxicity, including GI and hematologic toxicity was recorded in detail and UGT1A1 variants were genotyped. Regression analysis was used to analyse relationships between these variables and tumor response. Results: The prevalence of grade III-IV diarrhea was 10.1%, this being more common in patients with the TA 6/7 genotype (5 of 22 patients, 22.7%) (p<0.05). The prevalence of grade III-IV neutropenia was 13.4%and also highest in patients with the TA 6/7 genotype (4 of 22 patients; 18.2%) but without significance (p>0.05). The retreatment total bilirubin levels were significantly higher in TA6/7 patients (mean, $12.75{\mu}mol/L$) with compared to TA6/6 (mean, $9.92{\mu}mol/L$) with p<0.05. Conclusions: Our study support the conclusion that patients with a $UGT1A1^*28$ allele (s) will suffer an increased risk of severe irinotecan-induced diarrhea, whether with mid-or low-dosage. However, the $UGT1A1^*28$ allele (s) did not increase severe neutropenia. Higher serum total bilirubin is an indication that patients UGT1A1 genotype is not wild-type, with significance for clinic usage of CPT-11.

      • Phase II Study on Javanica Oil Emulsion Injection (Yadanzi®) Combined with Chemotherapy in Treating Patients with Advanced Lung Adenocarcinoma

        Lu, Yan-Yan,Huang, Xin-En,Cao, Jie,Xu, Xia,Wu, Xue-Yan,Liu, Jin,Xiang, Jin,Xu, Lin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.8

Purpose: To investigate the efficacy and safety of Javanica oil emulsion injection (Yadanzi$^{(R)}$) combined with pemetrexed and platinum (PP) for treating patients with advanced lung cancer. Patients and Methods: From June 2011 to June 2013, we recruited 58 patients with advanced lung cancer, and divided them into two groups. Twenty eight patients received Yadanzi$^{(R)}$ (from ZheJiang Jiuxu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.) together with PP chemotherapy (combined group), while the others were given only PP chemotherapy (control group). After two cycles of treatment, efficacy and safety of treatment were evaluated. Results: The overall respnse rate [(CR+PR+SD)/(CR+PR+SD+PD)] of the combined group was higher than that of control group (89.7% vs. 86.2%, p>0.05). Regarding rate of life improvement, it was 82.8% in combined group, and 51.7% in the control group (p<0.05). In terms of side effects, leukopenia in combined group was less frequent than that in control group (p<0.05). More patients in the control group were found to suffer liver toxicity. Conclusions: Javanica oil emulsion injection combined with chemotherapy could be considered as a safe and effective regimen in treating patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma. It can improve the quality of life and reduce the possibility of leukopenia. Further clinical trials with a large sample size should be conducted to confirm whether addition of Yadanzi$^{(R)}$ to chemotherapy could increase the response rate, reduce toxicity, enhance tolerability and improve quality of life for patients with advanced lung cancer.

      • Potential Predictors of Sensitivity to Pemetrexed as First-line Chemotherapy for Patients with Advanced Non-Squamous NSCLCs

        Lu, Yan-Yan,Huang, Xin-En,Xu, Lin,Liu, De-Gan,Cao, Jie,Wu, Xue-Yan,Liu, Jin,Xiang, Jin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.3

Background: Pemetrexed (PEM) is effective in first-line treatment for patients with non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However there are currently no definitive determinants to certify which patients could benefit from PEM. To improve the efficacy of PEM combined with platinum as first-line therapy for advanced non-squamous NSCLC, we conducted this retrospective study to detect potential determinants of this regimen. Methods: We recruited 109 patients with advanced non-squamous NSCLC who received PEM with a platinum as first-line therapy from June 2006 to February 2013 in Jiangsu Cancer Hospital. Multiple variables (age, sex, smoking, degree of cell differentiation, hemoglobin, platinum drugs combined, positions of metastasis) were selected. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyse relationships between these variables and tumor response. Result: In univariate analysis, we found that age and platinum significantly influenced the results of PEM therapy (P<0.05). In multivariable analysis, no factors were independently significant. Conclusion: Our analysis did not suggest that the age, sex, metastasis of liver or other organs, hemoglobin, smoking history and pathological differentiation are associated with the response of PEM. We should conduct further analyses with larger sample size to reconfirm this issue.

Investigation on the monotonic behavior of the steel rack upright-beam column connection

        Yan Cao,Rayed Alyousef,Kittisak Jermsittiparsert,Lanh Si Ho,Abdulaziz Alaskar,Hisham Alabduljabbar,Fahed Alrshoudi,Abdeliazim Mustafa Mohamed 국제구조공학회 2020 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.26 No.1

The cold-formed steel storage racks are extensively employed in various industries applications such as storing products in reliable places and storehouses before distribution to the market. Racking systems lose their stability under lateral loads, such as seismic actions due to the slenderness of elements and low ductility. This justifies a need for more investigation on methods to improve their behavior and increase their capacity to survive medium to severe loads. A standardized connection could be obtained through investigation on the moment resistance, value of original rotational stiffness, ductility, and failure mode of the connection. A total of six monotonic tests were carried out to determine the behavior of the connection of straight 2.0 mm, and 2.6 mm thickness connects to 5 lug end connectors. Then, the obtained results are benched mark as the original data. Furthermore, an extreme learning machine (ELM) technique has been employed to verify and predict both moment and rotation results. Out of 4 connections, increase the ultimate moment resistance of connection by 13% and 18% for 2.0 mm and 2.6 mm upright connection, respectively.

      • In-plane varying bending force effects on wave dispersion characteristics of single-layered graphene sheets

        Cao, Yan,Selmi, Abdellatif,Tohfenamarvar, Rasoul,Zandi, Yousef,Kasehchi, Ehsan,Assilzahed, Hamid Techno-Press 2021 Advances in nano research Vol.10 No.2

An analytical investigation has been performed on the mechanical performance of waves propagated in a Single-Layered Graphene Sheet (SLGS) when an In-plane Varying Bending (IVB) load is interacted. It has been supposed that the Graphene Sheet (GS) is located on an elastic medium. Employing a two-parameter elastic foundation, the effects of elastic substrate on the GS behavior are modeled. Besides, the kinematic equations are derived by the means of a trigonometric two-variable refined plate theory. Moreover, in order to indicate the size-dependency of the SLGS, a Nonlocal Strain Gradient Theory (NSGT) was considered. The nonlocal governing differential equations are achieved in the framework of Hamilton's Principle (HP). Also, an analytical approach was used to detect the unknowns of the final eigenvalue equation. Finally, the effects of each parameters using some dispersion charts were determined.

Experimental-based optimization of polymer injection molding process parameters using anfis-ga method

        Yanli Cao,Xi-ying Fan,Yong-huan Guo,Xin Liu,Chunxiao Li,Lulu Li 대한기계학회 2022 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.36 No.3

Compared with ordinary injection-molded parts, the slender, cantilevered, and thin-walled plastic parts are harsh on the injection molding process conditions. For complexity and particularity, it is difficult to form such parts. It is also more likely to cause excessive warpage deformation, affecting the molding quality and performance. The automobile audio shell is a typical slender, cantilevered, thin-walled plastic part. When the mold structure and material are determined, optimizing its injection molding process is the most economical and effective method to manufacture the products with the optimum properties. In order to minimize the warpage deformation, the adaptive network based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and genetic algorithm (GA) were adopted to optimize the injection molding process parameters. In particular, considering the high-dimensional nonlinear relationship between the process parameters and the warpage, the ANFIS is constructed as the prediction model of the warpage. Then, the GA is used to globally optimize the prediction model to determine the optimal process parameters. The results show that the optimization method based on ANFIS-GA has a good performance. The warpage is reduced to 0.0925 mm while reduced by 88.25 %. The optimal injection molding process parameters are used for simulation and manufacture, verifying the effectiveness and reliability of the optimization method.

      • Analysis of leaking ratio of sealing device for the intake port of EMC closed integral structure turbine disk through soft computing

        Cao, Yan,Zandi, Yousef,Rahimi, Abouzar,Fan, Qingming,Bai, Yu,Guo, Junde,Fu, Leijie,Khadimallah, Mohamed Amine,Jameel, Mohammed,Assilzadeh, Hamid Techno-Press 2021 Advances in nano research Vol.11 No.3

The rotor disk produces an azimuthal velocity component in the space between the rotor and stator of a turbine disk, also known as the rim seal cavity. As part of an empirically study, the rim seal cavity is subjected to a test aimed to count the number of unstable structures and evaluate their rotational speed. An Electronic Control Unit (ECU) has a leak test aperture that is sealed by a sealing device that is selectively disposed in the leak test aperture. Designing pump and compressor machines and units requires the development of dependable seal assemblies that maintain tightness over a long period of time and in a wide variety of pressures and temperature. In the field of electrochemical machining (ECM), heat-resistant and high-strength materials may be machined into complicated forms using this well-known technology. ECM presents some issues as the electrochemical copying of grooves, insulating groove features, slots and mini-holes can cause water leakage due to the poor sealing device of the closed integral structure turbine disk. Sealing devices of rotor turbine disks are heavy components with low-cycle fatigue analysis to their life curves. However, there is rare analysis to detect their defects in various rotor regions (temperature, considering stress, mission profile). This study by use of hydro-thermal loading has attempted to focus on the mechanical seals rings and basic productive and operating requirements. Taking the damage and wear, the clearance has been altered that cause a raising in leakage. Generally, the leakage grows more rapidly than linearly with the after-damage clearance. Also, damage and wear were related to the labyrinth seal itself, resulting that the bending curvature and the percentage of bent tooth length were also relevant in defining the leakage in the case of bending damage.

      • The Impact of Line Resistance on Load Sharing and An Improved Droop Control of DC Microgrid

        CAO Wei,YANG Daopei,CAO Jialin,WANG Yongzhi,YAN Yuxing 전력전자학회 2015 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2015 No.6

This paper proposes an effective DC voltage and power sharing droop control structure for DC microgrid based on public bus voltage feedback signal. Firstly, the impact of the line resistance on power sharing among droop controlled distributed generators is analyzed and the reason why the line resistance cannot be ignored is presented. Then, an improved droop control is proposed. The simulation test based on MATLAB/Simulink was implemented to demonstrate the proposed approach.
