This study was carried out to compare the residual antibiotic materials in muscles of slaughter cattle and swine from slaughterhouses in Seoul from 2000 to 2001 by EEC-4-plate method, Charm Il and HPLC method. 1. Residual antibiotic materials were detected from 95 samples(0.8%) by EEC-4-plate and 57 samples(10.2%) by Charm Il. The final HPLC method determined the positives are 43(45.3%) and 27(47.3%) respectively. 2. The detection ratios were 45% by EEC-4-plate and 47% by Charm Il. 3. Seventy samples were classified as tetracyclines 56(75.7.4%), sulfonamides 10(14.9%), β-lactam 6(8.1%) chloramphenicol 1(1.4%). Three of them were confirmed to be positive simmultaneously for tetracyclines, sulfonamides and chloramphenicol. 4. The highest residual concentration of chlortetracycline, oxytetracycline, sulfamethazine, sulfadimethoxine, sulfaquinoxaline, penicillin, ampicillin and chloramphenicol were 0.34, 11.29, 68.16, 0.13, 4.0, 0.12, 0.4 and 0.04ppm, respectively.

Background & Objective: Articular cartilage is a potential target for drugs designed to inhibit the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) to stop or slow the destruction of the proteoglycan and collagen in the cartilage extracellular matrix. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Aralia cordata Thunb. in inhibiting the release of glycosaminoglycan (GAG), the degradation of collagen, and MMP activity in rabbit articular cartilage explants. Methods : The cartilage-protective effects of Aralia cordata Thunb. were evaluated by using glycosaminoglycan degradation assay, collagen degradation assay, colorimetric analysis of MMP activity, measurement of lactate dehydrogenase activity and histological analysis in rabbit cartilage explants culture. Results : Interleukin-la (IL-1a) rapidly induced GAG, but collagen was much less readily released from cartilage explants. Aralia cordata Thunb. significantly inhibited GAG and collagen release in a concentration-dependent manner. Aralia cordata Thunb. dose-dependently inhibited MMP-3 and MMP-13 expression and activities from IL-1a-treated cartilage explants cultures when tested at concentrations ranging from 0.02 to 0.2 mg/ml. Aralia cordata Thunb. had no harmful effect on chondrocytes viability or cartilage morphology in cartilage explants. Histological analysis indicated that Aralia cordata Thunb. reduced the degradation of the cartilage matrix compared with that of IL -1a-treated cartilage explants.

The principal objective of this study was to compare the effects of whole and hydrolyzed cells (bifidobacteria) treated with gastrointestinal digestive enzymes on the activation of cloned macrophages. Seven different strains of Bifidobacterium obtained from swine, chickens, and rats, were digested with pepsin followed by pancreatin and the precipitate (insoluble fraction) and supernatant (soluble fraction) obtained via centrifugation. The RAW 264.7 murine macrophages were incubated with either whole cells, the precipitate, or supernatant at various concentrations. Pronounced increases in the levels of nitric oxide (NO), interleukin $(IL)-1{\beta}$, IL-6, IL-12, and tumor necrosis factor $(TNF)-{\alpha}$ were observed in the whole cells and precipitates, but these effects were less profound in the supernatants. The precipitates also evidenced a slight, but significant, inductive activity for NO and all tested cytokines, with the exception of $(TNF)-{\alpha}$ in the macrophage model as compared with the whole cells. By way of contrast, $(TNF)-{\alpha}$ production when cultured with whole cells (100 ng/ml) resulted in marked increases as compared with what was observed with the precipitates. The results of this study indicated, for the first time, that digested Bifidobacterium sp. can induce the production of NO and several cytokines in RAW 264.7 murine macrophage cells. In the current study, it was demonstrated that Bifidobacterium strains treated with digestive enzymes, as compared with whole cells, are capable of stimulating the induction of macrophage mediators, which reflects that they may be able to modulate the gastrointestinal immune functions of the host.
도서형피판(Island Pedicle Flap)에 대한 임상적 고찰

Following its introduction as island flap by Dunham in 1893 for the reconstruction of a cheek defect with a flap based on the anterior temporal vessels has been popularized in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery. And investigators are continually searching for new donor area for use of it. In clinical application of the island flap, a given flap must be met certain criteria in order to given widespread acceptance. Among these are applicability in a wide range of situations, presence of indentifiable blood vessels, easy dissection, and minimal donor-site morbidity. Island pedicle flap is a very useful method of treatment for such situations in which cannot to be using a local flap because of scar tissues or irradiated tissues around the wound, and in which inapplicable to be using a free because of inadequacy of the recipient vessels. It has many distinctive advantages over the conventional local flaps. They are as follows; 1. It has good blood supply and less risk of infection, so it is be one of the safest. 2. It provides well vascularized flap with a one-stage operation. 3. It has no necessity of delay, and far fewer limitations of flap-size. 4. It improves the comfort of the patients, and allows early ambulation. And compare to free flap, advantages of the island flap are the technical ease of the transferring it, the simplest method with a single operation, short hospitalization, and lower cost. During the past 5 years (from Feb., 1982 to July, 1986) authors experienced 18 cases of island pedicle flaps. In this paper, we would like to report our cases with brief of the related references.

Correlation of catalytic activity for the oxidation of CO and sensor response to CO was investigated. The perovskite-type oxides prepared by partial substitution of LaFeO₃with other 3d transition metal M to give LaFe₁_хMхO₃. The catalytic activity of LaFe₁_хCOхO₃(x=0 to 0.2) increase in X, but the highest sensor response was achieved at x=0.1. It was found that the sensor response increased in proportion to the catalytic activity, provided that the apparent activation energy for electrical conduction was unaffected by the substitution.

Concrete is one of the principal materials for the structures and It is widely used all over the world While advanced technologies of concrete have been recently focused especially on developing high performance concrete In which possess high compressive strength and durability, such concrete shows extremely brittle failure under shear and tension To Improve such a poor properties, high performance fiber reinforced cement composites(HPFRCC) has been developed For forming multicrack, a large number of fiber and/or the high specific area with thinner fibers are required However, It causes difficulties for the extrusion because of the poor workability So, this theses was suggested adequate mixing method and mix proportion for cach fibers and experimentally observed Structural performance of the seismic devices made by steel bar and HPFRCC These dampers will be applied for reducing damage as weil as seismic response The advantages of the HPFRCC damper is selective structural performance, strength, stiffness, and ductility by changing configuration, bar arrangements and type of materials used The experimental results indicate that elemental ductility is much increased with decreasing damage when the HPFRCC are applied to the damper It means cementitious seismic damper for structure control is available, which has much merit in performance and cost
지방정부 재가노인복지사업의 적실성 제고방안 : 대구광역시의 일부 사례를 중심으로

본 논문은 지방정부 단위의 재가노인복지사업의 현황과 문제점을 대구광역시의 사례를 중심으로 실증적으로 분석하고, 이를 통해서 아직 초기단계에 불과한 지방정부에서의 재가 노인복지사업의 적실성 제고방안을 제시하려는 것이다. 이를 위해서 이론적 논의로서 재가 노인복지의 의의, 필요성, 그리고 한국에서의 재가노인복지의 전개과정을 살펴보았다. 그리고 이러한 이론적 논의를 토대로 실증적 연구를 수행하기 위한 분석 틀을 Gilbert와 Terrell의 네 가지 분석차원을 중심으로 구성하였다. 다음에는 이러한 분석 틀에 입각하여 대구광역시의 재가노인복지사업의 현황과 문제점들을 적용범위, 전달체계, 급여내용, 재정의 네 가지 분석차원을 중심으로 고찰하였으며, 이를 토대로 재가노인복지사업의 적실성물 제고할 수 있는 구체적인 방안들을 제시하였다. 그리고 여기서 재가노인복지사업의 범위에는 가정봉사원 파견사업, 주간보호사업, 단기보호사업의 세 가지를 포함하였다.
