Electrical and structural properties of VO2 in an electric field
황인희,Jin Zhenlan,박창인,선정준,Brewe Dale L.,한상욱 한국물리학회 2021 Current Applied Physics Vol.30 No.-
We examined the electrical and local structural properties of a VO2 film at different electric fields using electrical resistance and x-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) measurements at the V K edge in the temperature range of 30–100 ◦C. The Tc value of the metal-to-insulator transition (MIT) during both heating and cooling decreases with electric field. When the electric field exceeds a certain value, the MIT becomes sharper due to Joule heating. The MIT, the structural phase transition (SPT), and the pre-edge peak transition of the VO2 do not congruently occur at a uniform temperature. A metallic VO2 is observed in only the rutile (or M2) symmetry. An electric field induces a substantial amount of conduction electrons in insulating VO2. Simultaneously measured resistance and XAFS reveal that Joule heating caused by an external electric field significantly affects the MIT and SPT of VO2.
Error-Driven Learning of Chinese Word Segmentation
( Julia Hockenmaier ),( Chris Brew ) 한국언어정보학회 1998 국제 워크샵 Vol.1998 No.-
Palmer ([4]) demonstrated how Brill``s Transformation-based Error-Driven Learning can be applied to word segmentation in various languages. We present experimental results which show that such algorithms can achieve satisfactory performance even with a a very simple initial state annotator We also present two preliminary studies, which suggest that even higher performance might be achieved if simple morphological information is available to the system, and that segmentation performance might actually be improved by combining segmentation with rudimentary part-of-speech tagging.
Design and evaluation of prosodically-sensitive concatenative units for Korean TTS

This paper describes the design and evaluation of the prosodically-sensitive concatenative units for a Korean text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis system. The diphones used are prosodically conditioned in the sense that a single conventional diphone is stored as different versions taken directly from the different prosodic domains of the prosodically labeled, read sentences. The four levels of the Korean prosodic hierarchy were observed in the diphone selection process, thereby selecting four different versions of each diphone: three edge diphones from the prosodic domains ofthe intonational phrase (IP), accentual phrase (AP) and prosodic word (PW), and a non-edge diphone from the domain of the prosodic word. Due to the size of the corpus that we employed, our system covers only 36.4% of the possible 6,503 diphones. A listening experiment designed to evaluate the quality of the diphone database showed that listeners preferred stimuli composed of prosodically appropriate diphones. We interpret this as supporting the view that segments carry prosodic domain information.
