Streptococcus faecalis는 glucose, lactose등을 탄소원으로 잘 이용하였으며 glucose를 탄소원으로, yeast extract와 casitone을 질소원으로 구성된 배지를 사용하여 pH 7.0에서 control되는 fermentor 배양에서 optical density(660nm) 7.3(viable cell concentration 6.5×10(9) cells/㎖)이상의 높은 cell concentration을 얻을 수 있었다. Bacillus mesentericus의 sporulation을 최대화 하기 위한 발효 조건을 조사한 결과 glucose를 위한 최적 CaCl₂농도는 0.lmM이었다. Streptococcus faecalis rapidly fermented glucose and lactose as a C-source, and the maximum cell concentration was obtained when grown in a jar fermentor that contained YCG medium consisting of glucose as a C-source and casitone and yeast extracts as a N-source, and that was controlled at pH 7.0. From experiments to maximize the sporulation efficiency in Bacillus mesentericus, glucose caused the decrease in sporulation efficiency, and calcium chloride was stimulatory for sporulation, of which optimum concentration was 0.lmM.

진해시 웅산 - 장복산 지역의 등산로 5구간(Ⅰ: 웅산 ~ 안민고개, Ⅱ: 천자봉 ~ 웅산, Ⅲ: 자은초등학교 ~ 시루봉, Ⅳ: 안민고개 ~ 청룡암, Ⅴ: 안민고개 ~ 장복산)의 목복식물을 조사한 결과 47과 76속 100종 11변종 6품종이로 총 117종류가 조사 되었다. 이들 중 상록침엽수는 소나무, 해송, 리기다소나무, 잣나무, 삼나무, 화백, 편백, 둥근향나무 등 8종류이고, 상록활엽수는 남천, 사철나무, 은목서, 마삭줄, 동백, 차나무, 후피향나무 등 7종류이며, 희귀 멸종 식물은 산닥나무가 조사되었다. 한국 특산종으로는 잣나무, 노각나무, 신이대, 오동나무 등이 조사 되었다. 전 구간에 걸쳐 나타나는 수종으로는 소나무, 해송, 리기다소나무, 편백, 상수리나무, 떡갈나무, 졸참나무, 신갈나무, 팽나무, 비목, 벚나무, 자귀나무, 조록싸리, 진달래, 싸리 등 15종류였다. The woody plants species were investigated as 117 taxa; 47 families, 76 genus, 100 species, 11 varieties, 6 forms in whole 5 trails surveyed areas of the region from Ungsan to Jangbogsan in Jinhae(Ⅰ; Ungsan~Anmingogae, Ⅱ; Cheunjabong~Ungsan, Ⅲ; Jaeunchogyo~Sirubong, Ⅳ; Anmingogae~ Cheangryongam, Ⅴ; Anmingogae~Jangbogsan). The narrow-leaved evergreen types were 8 species; Pinus densiflora, Pinus thunbergii, Pinus koraiensis, Pinus rigida, Cryptomeria japonica, Chamaecyparis obtusa, Chamaecyparis pisifera and Juniperus chinensis var. globosa. The broad-leaved evergreen types were 7 species; Nandina domestica, Euonymus japonica, Osmanthus asiaticus, Trachelospermum asiaticum var. intermedium, Camellia japonica, Thea sinensis and Ternstroemia japonica. The endemic woody in korea were Pinus koraiensis, Stewartia koreana, Sasa coreana and Paulownia coreana. The rare and endangered species was Wikstroemia trichotoma. In all area surveyed woody plants were Pinus densiflora, Pinus thunbergii, Pinus rigida, Chamaecyparis obtusa, Quercus acutissima, Q. dentata, Q. serrata, Q. mongolica, Celtis sinensis, Lindera erythrocarpa, Prunus serrulata var. spontanea, Albizzia julibrissin, Lespedeza maximowiczii, Rhododendron mucronulatum and Lespedeza bicolor.
Supersonic Free Jet and Ab initio Studies of Electronic-Vibrational Structures of Fluorene

Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) excitation spectra were measured for fluorene (FR) cooled in pulse supersonic expansions of He in the range 283.7-296.7 nm. Ab initio studies of FR have also been carried out for determining the electronic and vibrational structures by using the standard 3-21G basis sets. In the LIF excitation spectra of FR, highly resolved vibronic bands are observed having the band origin of 33,791 cm^-1. The vibrational bands above the electronic origin were assigned on the basis of the well-characterized electronic vibrational bands reported previously and of normal modes of vibrations derived by our HF/3-21G calculations.
Fluorescence Spectroscopic and Time-Dependent Density-Functional Theory Studies of Diphenylsilane

We investigated fluorescence and fluorescence excitation of diphenylsilane (DPS) in a solution and molecular beams in combination with the aid of the DFT method. When the molecule was photoexcited at 250 nm in a cyclohexane solution, normal and excimer fluorescences were observed in the ranges of 260-320 and 330-450 nm, respectively. The fluorescence excitation spectrum indicates that the channel leading to the intramolecular excimer formation is not efficient in comparison with the normal fluorescence. Vibrationally resolved fluorescence excitation spectra were measured for the DPS molecules cooled in pulsed supersonic expansion of He in the range 262.2-271.7 nm, in which we can see several electronic excitation spectra exhibiting the electronic band origins. We found that the simulated absorption spectrum based on the time-dependent densityfunctional theory calculations accords well with the absorption spectrum.

The little compounds were synthesized and characterized. The vibrational frequencies of (Me_3Si)_3SiX (X=H, Cl, OH, OD, Me, OMe, SiMe_3) were determined by means of IR and Raman spectroscopy. Based on our AM1 semiempirical calculation and the literature group frequencies of CH_3, Me_3Si, SiSi_3, SiX (X=H, Cl, OH, OD, CH_3, OCH_3) have been assigned. The intensities of the Raman lines of the stretching vibrations of (Me_3Si)_3Si-X (X=Cl, OH, OMe) and (Me_3Si)_3SiO-H are very low compared with those of the IR lines. This indicates that the bounds have a strong ionic nature.

<P>Intramolecular excimer formation of bis(9-fluorenyl)methane (BFM) and 9-(9′-ethylfluorenyl)-9-fluorenylmethane (EFFM), in which an ethyl group is substituted to a 9-H atom in BFM, was studied by means of steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence. Ab initio and DFT calculations enabled the prediction of three conformers as stable species of orthogonal, trans–gauche, and gauche–gauche. The theoretical and experimental results reveal that the substitution effect is also found to appreciably influence the energies, spectroscopy, and kinetics associated with the interconversion of various conformers of the diaryl compounds. The photoionization of SiCl_4 has been investigated in the valence and Si:2p inner-shell region using time-of-flight mass spectrometry and synchrotron rediation in the range 38-133 eV. Ion yields and branching ratios are reports for charge species arising from the dissociative photpionization processes. Various monocations such as Cl^+, Cl_2^+, and SiCl_n^+(n=0-4) are observed together with doubly charged species such as Si^2+, Cl^2+. The photoion -photoion coincidence(PIPICP) technique has been employed to investigate a variety of dissociation processes via Coulomb explosion and to elucidate the dissociation mechanisms. Ion pairs of Si^+ +Cl^+ and SiCl^+ +Cl^+ are observed dominantly in the Si:2p edge. Variation of the ionic fragmentation as a function of photon energy is discussed in conjunction with the relevant electronic states.
