Concentric Circle-Based Image Signature for Near-Duplicate Detection in Large Databases

Many applications dealing with image management need a technique for removing duplicate images or for grouping related (near-duplicate) images in a database. This paper proposes a concentric circle-based image signature which makes it possible to detect near-duplicates rapidly and accurately. An image is partitioned by radius and angle levels from the center of the image. Feature values are calculated using the average or variation between the partitioned sub-regions. The feature values distributed in sequence are formed into an image signature by hash generation. The hashing facilitates storage space reduction and fast matching. The performance was evaluated through discriminability and robustness tests. Using these tests, the particularity among the different images and the invariability among the modified images are verified, respectively. In addition, we also measured the discriminability and robustness by the distribution analysis of the hashed bits. The proposed method is robust to various modifications, as shown by its average detection rate of 98.99%. The experimental results showed that the proposed method is suitable for near-duplicate detection in large databases.

인간의 생체 리듬은 정서와 행동에 영향을 미친다. 또한 인간의 인지 프로세스는 환경-몸-뇌의 상호작용을 통해 이루어진다. 본 연구에서는 라이프로깅을 통해 개인의 일상 생활을 추적하여 정서를 대표하는 심장반응과 행동을 대표하는 생활패턴 사이의 인과관계를 파악하고자 한다. 심장반응은 스마트폰의 가속도 센서를 기반으로 심탄도를 통해 측정하였고, 생활패턴은 GPS 를 기반으로 분석되었다. 실험은 피험자 4 명을 대상으로 하루 동안의 라이프로그 데이터를 수집하였으며 경로분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 개인마다 심장반응과 생활패턴의 인과관계를 도출하였다. 본 연구는 개인의 생체 리듬의 내적 요인과 외적 요인의 관계성을 파악하는데 기초 연구로써 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
H<SUB>∞</SUB> Control of Bilateral Telesurgical Systems with Communication Constraints

Telesurgery has come to the forefront because of many merits such as a small incision, less bleeding and a short period of hospitalization. By means of internet, telesurgery is practical even the master and the slave are not physically in the same place. Internet, however, causes communication constraints such as time-varying delay and packet loss which induce instability and performance degradations in teleoperation systems. In this paper, we consider teleoperation systems including bilateral communications with asynchronous packet loss and time-varying delay. We define teleoperation sytsems as polytopic linear differential inclusions (PLDIs) to cope with switchings between subsystems which are divided by the status of communication channels. A sufficient condition which guarantees asymptotic stability and H∞ performance is derived for teleoperation systems modeled as PLDIs. Then, we propose a H∞ control design method, using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).

<P>A family of copolymers (P(NDIOD-T2F<I>x</I>)) based on naphthalenediimide (NDI) and 2,2′-bithiophene (T2) units with different amounts of 3,3′-difluoro-2,2′-bithiophene (T2F) decoration were synthesized, characterized, and used in n-type organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). With increasing T2F content in the backbone, we observe increased melting and crystallization transitions, blue-shifted absorptions, and deeper-lying highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO)/lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) levels, together with improved hydrophobicity. The highest electron mobility of 4.48 × 10<SUP>-1</SUP> cm<SUP>2</SUP> V<SUP>-1</SUP> s<SUP>-1</SUP> was obtained for P(NDIOD-T2F0) without a T2F unit, which is attributed to the larger domain grains and crystallites, as well as a more tightly packed and oriented crystalline structure, as evidenced from the morphological study. In contrast, P(NDIOD-T2F100) with the highest T2F content has superior air stability, showing greater than 25% electron mobility retention after 30 days in wet conditions of 100% relative humidity without encapsulation. Even P(NDIOD-T2F100) is able to operate normally after 30 min of immersion in water, which is due to the synergistic contributions from the deep HOMO/LUMO levels and improved hydrophobicity. This study advances our fundamental understanding of how the morphology/crystallinity, device performance, and device stability of n-type copolymers are tuned by incorporating different concentrations of T2F in the backbone, shedding light on an important modification for air- and water-stable n-type materials for future OFET applications.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
