A new class hybrid poly(2-methoxy aniline) Sn(II)silicate carbon nanotubes composite was synthesized by sol–gel method. The physico-chemical characterization was carried out by Scanning Electron micrograph, X-ray Diffraction, Fourier Transform Infrared, Ultraviolet–Visible Spectroscopy and simultaneous Thermo Gravimetric Analysis. The ion-exchange studies were also carried out to understand the ion-exchange capabilities. The dc electrical conductivity studies reviles its highly conducting nature in the range of 2–3-2 S cm-1. On the basis of distribution studies it was found highly selective for Hg2+. Due to selectivity of the composite, ion selective membrane was prepared and employed it as an indicator electrode in potentiometric titrations.

In this paper provides the mechanistic investigation of Mn(II)-catalyzed oxidative of biotin (BTN) has been studied by peroxomonosulphate (PMS) in alkaline medium at 293–308 K with a constant ionic strength. Such studies are much helpful in gaining an insight into the interaction of metal ions through the study of the mechanistic pathway of biotin in redox reactions. The stoichiometry of the reaction is 1:1 in the presence of catalyst. The reaction shows polymerization in the presence of acrylonitrile under the experimental conditions employed. Influence of dielectric constant and ionic strength of the medium on the reaction rate have been done. Manganese peroxide was proposed as the intermediate to explain the experimental observations. Temperature effect is noticeable in all these reactions and activation parameters have been determined. The effect of temperature was evaluated by Arrhenius equation and transition state theory, a mechanism was proposed based on the observation of the experimental results. It involves the formation of an activated complex, which decomposes to give the product. It is identified with the help of FTIR and TLC.

The reactions of Cefuroxime (CFA) by hexacyanoferrate (III) (HCF(III)) in alkaline medium at a constant ionic strength has been studied spectrophotometrically. It is a first order reaction, but fractional order in both CFA and alkali. Decrease in dielectric constant of the medium decreases the rate of reaction. The effect of added products and ionic strength has also been investigated. A mechanism involving free radicals is proposed. In a composite equilibrium step, CFA binds to HCF(III) to form a complex that subsequently decomposes to the products. The main two products were separated and identified by column chromatography, TLC and FT-IR. There is good agreement between the observed and calculated rate constants under different experimental conditions. The reaction was studied at different temperatures and activation parameters were computed with respect to the slow step of the proposed mechanism.

Herein we report the micellization and cloud point of an amitriptyline hydrochloride (AMT) under the influence of cationic, anionic and nonionic hydrotropes. Anionic hydrotropes were employed to know the micellar and surface behaviors, besides studying the clouding behavior of AMT drug with cationic,anionic and nonionic hydrotropes. Tensiometric study has been performed and the properties studied include the critical micelle concentration (cmc), maximum surface excess at the air/water interface (Gmax), the minimum area per of amphiphilic molecule at air/water interface (Amin), and the different thermodynamic parameters, besides clouding phenomenon. Interaction parameters of micelles (bm) and monolayer (bs) indicate that drug-hydrotrope systems show better interaction at the interface than in micelles.
Low dimensional Ni-ZnO nanoparticles as marker of toxic lead ions for environmental remediation

We have synthesized Ni-ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) by a wet-chemical route using reducing agents. Thestructural and optical properties of Ni-ZnO NPs were investigated by various conventional methods. Theanalytical potential of the Ni-ZnO NPs was studied for a selective detection of toxic Pb(II) ion usingrecognized ICP-OES method for environmental remediation. Data obtained from the selectivity studyindicated that the selectivity of Ni-ZnO NPs phase was the most toward Pb(II) ion. However, theadsorption isotherm data of Pb(II) on Ni-ZnO NPs phase was good-match with the Langmuir-Adsorption-Isotherm, strongly supporting that the adsorption process was mainly monolayer on homogeneousadsorbent surfaces.

In this report, the doped ZnO-CdO nanoblocks (NBs) have been synthesized by facile wet-chemical technique at low-temperature and characterized by UV–vis, FT-IR, XRD, FESEM, XPS, XEDS, etc. The NBs were applied for the selective detection of Fe(III) ions and photo-catalytic degradation using Brilliant cresol blue (BCB). The analytical efficiency of NBs phase was also investigated for a selective detection of Fe(III) by ICP-OES. NBs were found to be the most selective toward Fe(III), where adsorption process was mainly monolayer on a homogeneous adsorbent surface. In photo-catalysis, almost 52.3% degradation with BCB dye was observed under solar sources with NBs.

Background: Normal saline solution (NSS) has been the fluid of choice for renal transplant patients, but it can lead to hyperchloremic acidosis and hyperkalemia. This study was performed to compare the safety profile of low-chloride solutions with that of NSS in renal transplant patients. Methods: We conducted a systemic review search on PubMed, Embase, and the Central Cochrane Registry. Randomized clinical tri-als (RCTs) and matched cohort studies involving NSS as the control arm and low-chloride solutions as an intervention arm were cho-sen. The standardized mean difference for continuous variables, the odds ratio (OR) for discrete variables, and a 95% confidence in-terval (CI) for effect sizes were used. A p-value of <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Analysis was performed using a ran-dom-effects model irrespective of heterogeneity, which was evaluated using I<sup>2</sup> statistics. Results: Nine RCTs and one cohort study with a total of 726 patients were included. After transplantation, serum potassium was sig-nificantly lower in the low-chloride group (standardized mean difference compared to NSS group, -0.38 mEq/L; 95% CI, -0.66 to -0.11; p = 0.007). Similarly, postoperative chloride was lower in the low-chloride group (-2.41 mEq/L [-3.34 to -1.48], p < 0.001). No statistically significance was observed in delayed graft function (OR, 0.98 [0.56-1.69], p = 0.93), day 3 creatinine (-0.14 mg/dL [-0.46 to 0.18], p = 0.38), or day 7 urine output (-0.08 L [-0.29 to 0.12], p = 0.43). onclusion: Use of NSS during renal transplant leads to increased incidence of hyperchloremic acidosis with subsequent hyperkale-mia, but clinical significance in the form of delayed graft function or postoperative creatinine remains comparable to that of low-chlo-ride solutions.

Process model is an integral part of software industry. Different process models are used now a days in the industry for different software projects. Process models need to be tailored to address some specific project needs. Agile models are considered as the most widely used process models nowadays. They have distinctive features and the ability to address the dynamic needs of today's software development. Extreme programming (XP) is one of the extensively used agile process model especially for small projects. Many researchers have tried to mold XP to overcome its shortcomings and for better working in specific scenarios. Therefore, many customized versions of XP process model are available today. In this paper, we are going to analyze the latest customizations of XP. For this purpose, a systematic literature review is conducted on studies published from 2012 till 2018 in renowned online search libraries. This comprehensive review highlights the purpose of customizations, along with the areas in which customizations are made, and phases & practices which are being customized. This work will serve the researchers to discover the modern versions of XP process model as well as will provide a baseline for future directions for customizations.
